We contacted ***/MJ Building in July 2016 after being referred to do some post-flood repairs to flooring and dry wall, and painting. *** came out a few days later, was very professional & friendly, and provided a quote quickly. After the insurance company gave us their estimate and check, we contacted *** to setup a start date. He said that it would take several weeks minimum to get us on schedule. After that time passed, we decided to do a bulk of the repairs ourselves since we did not want to wait that long. One of the last major projects that needed to be done was regrouting our kitchen/dining areas (pulling out old grout and replacing it with new). We contacted *** and he gave us a quote and an estimated start date. That date was pushed back by several weeks, but we were willing to wait since it was not a major rush for us.

*** came out with 2 other workers to complete the job. We discussed with him that we needed protective walls to be put up to protect our new carpeting. He said this was no problem and put that on the quote. When coming home from work that afternoon, I noticed that all of the windows in the house were open and there was grout dust pouring out of them. This was somewhat expected, but it seemed like much more dust than it should have been. After they left for the day, I entered the house and found dust all over! There was a film over EVERYTHING throughout the ENTIRE house, even in the basement and upstairs, though they were working on the main floor. The "Wall" that they put up was a thin sheet of plastic and was hung using blue painters tape. We showed this to him the next day and came to an agreement that he deduct a maid and HVAC cleaning from his quote and finish the job. After he left, we found that several tiles were chipped along the edges but decided to just live with it. Now, 6 months later, the new grout is already chipping (our old grout was 18 - 20 years old and had NEVER chipped).
