[redacted], We are writing in response to MJH Renovation's comments. I would like to start by saying we don't believe we were treated with outstanding customer service. Yes, the start date was determined by the contract, but we were told by Steve and John that they would confirm the start date with a phone call which we never received. When we did not receive a confirmation phone call, we called and left a message on the business phone asking for confirmation, so we would be ready for them to start on Monday, we never received a response. This to us was the first 'red flag' that things might not go well. So when the MJH crew arrived, and I greeted them at the door, I explained to them that I called on the weekend looking for confirmation that you were going to start on Monday, but never received any response, so I asked if they could give me an hour to clean up a few areas of the house for them to proceed with the work. They then huddled outside for a while, making phone calls and came back and told me that they would not start until the next day. This was their decision, I was more that willing to have them start on Monday. When MJH crew arrived the next day, the work was started. We never expressed to them at any time that we were satisfied with their skill set and job progress, since they were only doing demolition. In regards to asking them for a window estimate, that was requested after the contract, but prior to any work being started.   The day before painting duties were going to be performed, we at no time asked any MJH employee to commit insurance fraud. When Steve's father John, gave us the estimate, he made the statement to us "If you would have gone with our adjuster, they have ways to get you a whole new kitchen, You had the wrong adjuster!" At the end of that day, we were not 'acting strange' we have no idea what he is referring to. The following day when the sub-contracter supposedly arrived, we were home and never heard a knock at the door. No one attempted to make a phone call, to see if we were there. So we called MJH asking why they didn't arrive, and got a machine, so we called John who told us he would have to get in touch with his son as he was not at the shop that day. We did not hear from his son until later that night, which then postponed things another day. We were getting the impression that this company was not very reliable, and started to have doubts as whether they could complete their job. Throughout the process, we never really knew whether they were coming, what time they were coming, or if they were going to work all day.   As far as the comment being made by MJH, that they were employed to work on the residence, not sit around without knowing what is going on was never said to me. This is what I expressed to them, as one of my concerns. At this point we thought it would be a good idea for both parties to part ways in a professional and mature manor, by reimbursing us for the work that was not done, which would have been $2,491.67. It took MJH a long time to respond to my many attempts to try and resolve this in a reasonable and business like manor. We had no intention at any time to come back and do the work, we just wanted the money back for the work that wasn't done, so we could hire someone else and have the work completed in our home.   For someone who has been in business for five years, I can't imagine him not being able to resolve this issue without letting this get this far. Thank you so much for assisting us in the matter.[redacted] and [redacted]

From: Steven H[redacted] <[redacted]@[redacted].com>Date: Sat, Sep 30, 2017 at 11:32 PMSubject: Response- I.D. # [redacted]To: [email protected]: Steven H[redacted] <[redacted]@[redacted].com>[redacted], Hello, and thank you for reaching out expressing concern for both parties. I am writing...

this email in reference to (I.D.#[redacted])  a letter I received at my office delivered by postal mail service. Below will be a statement from MJH Renovations explaining the several issues with involved MJH Renovations, and [redacted].First I would like to start by saying every customer is treated with outstanding customer service, and are extremely important to us. However when contract #[redacted] was signed on 7-5-17 by [redacted]. The start date was determined, and I stated unless we call to reschedule our crew would be there to start performing the duties listed on the contract. Upon arrival MJH crew was greeted at the door by [redacted]. She answered the door by stating "I am not ready for you guys”. From there we agreed to arrive the next day to perform the duties we were hoping to on the original agreed start date.(not a huge issue) Upon arrival the next day we gained access to residence. We started to complete line items on the contract. Everything was going smooth. (customer was expressing she was satisfied with our skill set, and job progress). They even inquired about MJH Renovations given an estimate for a new window in the residence. Now the day before painting duties were going to be performed. Customer had asked an MJH Employee to commit insurance fraud and claim kitchen had damages that would require completely replacing the cabinetry. (MJH Employee denied to do a such thing, huge issue)It was brought to my attention immediately.  I told them just keep doing what we are contracted to do. At the end of that day we cleaned the job site and left (customer was acting strange) The following day a sub-contracted painter arrived at the residence. At time of arrival no one would answer the door at the residence. They contacted me and I tried to reach out to the [redacted] family. (no luck)I than told the painters we will have to try again for tomorrow.  [redacted] then called and stated he was employing us so they should of waited for his wife to arrive. I kindly responded to [redacted] that he is employing us to work on his residence, not sit around without knowing what was going on. After this all took place through a telephone conversation he stated he wanted to terminate the contract. Also requesting a full refund at first. Over time he lowered his demand to wanting 1/2 returned ($2,491.67) I than added up all the total costs that were involved in his job, and offered a refund in the amount $918.36. I did email a release for the refund (never recieved, he denied the offer)  Myself, and my employees that were working on the job feel it got very weird once we wouldn’t write a false report to the insurance adjuster. (for new kitchen cabinets) At this time I would like to resolve this issue in a professional manner, and in house. However, I am fully prepared to proceed what ever way [redacted] and [redacted] would like to proceed. Thank you for taking the time to read over this letter, as well as reading the other side of the issue. I would like to apologize for having to involve you in resolving this issue. I’m not sure how they are going to want to proceed with this issue. If you would like to speak with sub-contracted painter please let me know, as well as any of the MJH employees that were on site at the [redacted] residence. Personally my company will not resolve this by working at the residence at this point. There are to many red flags. I have been in business for over five years, and not once had an issue come up that we couldn’t handle/resolve in house. Also I have great reviews, and come highly recommended by many others.Customer Information:[redacted] [redacted]Clifton Heights, PA [redacted]Daytime Phone:###-###-####Evening Phone: ###-###-####E-mail: [email protected] H[redacted](President)MJH Renovations###-###-####- cell###-###-####- officeMAKING JOBS HAPPEN!
