Upon moving into our two bedroom duplex, there were numerous damages to the unit along with an inheritance of fleas from the previous tenantPromised basic repairs were never fulfilled or followed up onIn one instance, the handy man entered our unit with no noticeEmails were NEVER replied toWhen attempting to schedule an in-person meeting with the property manager, the receptionist(?) told me that "they don't schedule appointments ahead of time." What???
The best part- our neighbors were so aggressively abusive to one another that their middle-of-the-night physical and verbal altercations could be heard in every square footage of our unitThese same neighbors abused the parking in the complex, smoked marijuana and cigarettes so heavily it could be smelled at all times, and had numerous comings and goingsWe called the police regarding the neighbors domestic abuse three times during the duration of our tenancy - they did nothing and MJP did nothingWe felt unprotected and scared for our own safetyManagement assured us they were taking action about this, but these issues were never resolved and we were only updated when I made attempts to find out more informationDue to the aforementioned, we decided to vacate our unit
Our lease break fee was hefty and we felt that it was unfair of us to pay it considering the low quality of life we had been living due to our environmentThreatening legal action in an in-person meeting may have been the only reason why we managed to get out of our break lease feeThat and my diligent use of Certified Mail to keep them accountable if we had ended up taking a legal course of actionAfter hastily moving out of our unit (that we had taken great care of in the short 1/months of living there), we were overcharged on our security deposit refund for "pet damages"- funny, since we don't own a petWe definitely got gypped here, but alas, we are exhausted and disappointed with this business and want no further interaction with them
Overall, MJP Management was incompetent, unprofessional, and unavailableMy advice? Look elsewhere for a home
