I am rejecting this response because:when the installer came back out they did not test the doorHe started arguing with me about buyer remorse right awayAs I said before, I did install a different door handle as they suggested, but you can clearly see in the photo's we previously sent there is not enough space to grab the door handle and open itI am contacting the local fire department to come out and inspect the door function, as I stated before the door cannot be opened and I feel this is a safety hazard for me and my familyAgain I want this product removed and money returned for this shutter
I am rejecting this response because: Pictures don't lieYou can see the measurements. You can't open the doorbottom line you can't open door with the handle they said to install

[redacted] ordered custom fabricated Hunter Douglas shutters for his home on July 23rd 2015. At his design consultation he was made aware that in order for a shutter to work on his door he would have to change the door handle. He decided he wanted to order and proceed. The shutter for his door was...
made incorrectly by the factory and the customer withheld payment and until the shutter was remade correctly within 1 week. On 9/2//2015 our installer called from the customers home during the final installation stating that he was worried that the shutter was too heavy for the door and that his children could not open the door. The installer explained to the customer that the shutter (Hollow Vinyl) only weighs about 15 pounds and their would be no issue since we have installed literally thousand of these shutters in our 20 plus years in business. He also operated the door for the customer to demonstrate that there was no issue. The customer refused to pay the balance and sent an email with photos of his door handle which I viewed and saw nothing out the ordinary. I directed the Designer, [redacted] and the installer [redacted] to go back out to the home and address any issues that may be present. They met with the client at his home on 9/8/2015. Again the client claimed the door could not be operated. Bothe the Designer and Installer had no problem operating the door. They suggested to the client that he purchase a door handle extension or change to a reverse lever type handle if he felt that he couldn't operate the door. The client refused and would not listen to the designer or the installer suggestions. Our installer stated that the client was being difficult and kept talking over him and again refused to pay. I sent an email to the client stating our p[osition that there was nothing wrong with his shutter and that the door was easily operated by the designer and the installer and that if he still refused to pay his balance we would immediately file a lien. The client payed their balance the next day on 9/9/2015. I have dealt with customers like [redacted] before. this is not a product issue this is a buyers remorse issue. We have provided 10s of thousands of customers with great service and products for over 20 years. Even the [redacted] filled out our service questionnaire and rated us all 5 star across the board. We absolutely will not be refunding any money.
Our Installers and Designers do not Lie. The installer that went out is my son. he doesn't lie to me about customer issues. Again I have reviewed the photos and the job information and there is nothing out of the ordinary about this install. The customer, again was given 2 separate options to address his unfounded concerns. He refused both. End of story
Review: September 9, 2015I had shutters installed on the French doors at my home recently. When they first came to install the shutters, the company stated they wouldnt fit. They stated they would have to make the framing wider as to not screw through the glass. They came and installed the shutters and after the installation, you couldnt open the door. The Company suggested changing the door knob from a level type to a round knob. We changed out the door knob as suggested and you still cannot open the door. There is not enough space between the frame and the knob to open it. Even my children with small hands cannot open the door, which is a safety hazard. I have attached photos showing the space between the frame and the door knob. As you can see the knob on the outside is 1 1/2" away from the edge. The knob on the inside is 1/2" inch away from the edge, and the base is less than 1/4" away. You cannot open the door from inside with your hand. I have requested numerous times for the company to come and either correct the problem or remove the shutters. I am told each time that they feel there is no problem and threatened to file a Mechanics Lien on my home if I didnt the balance of the bill. I have paid the balance in full after they have threatened me with this lien, even though the problem still exists.Desired Settlement: I am requesting them to take down the shutters and provide me with a refund for the balance of $600.00 which was the last payment of the $2400.00 for the entire job.

I am rejecting this response because: Pictures don't lie. You can see the measurements. You can't open the door. bottom line you can't open door with the handle they said to install.
