MMJ Events Reviews (4)

While we do not accept the response of the vendor, we understand that MMJ Events is choosing to leave this issue unresolvedAttached is clarification and documentation regarding MMJ Event’s claims and accusations of “scamming” and “blackmail”.What the vendor has portrayed in her response to the complaint is lacking in many areasUnfortunately, the vagueness of the signed contractual agreement between ourselves and MMJ Events has led to this unfortunate situationMy wife and I did seek resolution between ourselves and MMJ Events, to which MrsJ [redacted] has claimed no wrongdoing, or responsibility for any failure on her part, and at many points accused us of being at fault for being present at the planning of our own wedding, as noted in attached communicationMy wife and I paid nearly $40,for our wedding, including $6,for MMJ Events’ services which were to include full service design and planningWhile their services may have been outstanding for other clients, it was our experience that led us to this mediation, as MMJ has refused any responsibility. In refute to the response, there are a handful of items that are incorrect or omitted.MrsJ [redacted] was routinely late to appointmentsWhile she outlined two that she was late to, there were additional appointments that she was late to including, but not limited to,\October 27, - Meeting with The Athletic Club of Columbus in which my wife and I arrived at the 4:meeting on time, entered the Club and began initial conversation with our guide Emily before MrsJ [redacted] arrived.October 31, - Meeting with The Pinnacle Club in which my wife and I along with my Mother-in-Law and Brother-in-Law arrived at the 1:meeting on time, entered the Club, and began the tour of the building, with our guide Tracey before MrsJ [redacted] arrivedIn refute to the claims that MMJ Events scheduled the video and photography appointments, please refer to the attached e-mails in which I sought out both our Photographer, Kismet, and our videographer, Films, and scheduled the appointment. As well, MMJ Events did not find the makeup artist nor the hair artist, as my wife had a previously scheduled photography session (outside of the events of the wedding) and both the make up artist and hair stylist came recommended through the photographerThe artists were scheduled as a part of that eventWhile conversation did take place between MrsJ [redacted] and said artists, my wife coordinated the events of the photography sessionNot MMJ Events, as it was not a part of our weddingIn addition, MMJ Events did not manage the linen orderSee attached e-mail in which I placed the linen orderIn regards to the florist, aside from the fact that my wife had indicated in previous meetings that she did not want “Hot Pink” or dark pink flowers, an e-mail was sent to MMJ Events on February 24th, stating “Also [redacted] is worried about the flowers and the pinks, she just wants to make sure that they aren’t a hot pink or bright pink, but that everything is going to be that lighter pastel pink color.” To which MMJ replied: “They will definitely not be hot pink or bright pinkI'm confident Amy understands her vision.” (see attached) When we arrived for the wedding and saw the flowers, hot pink was a predominant color in all of the arrangementsWhile MrsJ [redacted] indicates that this comes down to “perception” she fails to see the fact that it was requested, and communicated that “no hot pink” be in the flowersIn a conversation the day of the wedding, she communicated with the bride that she did, in fact, share this information with the florist, a claim that has been refuted by the florist multiple timesThe bride requested NO dark pink flowers. In regards to MrsJ [redacted] ’s presence the day of, we have no way of saying what exact time she arrived though it was between 1:and 2:pmThough I can say when she left as I spoke with her walking out the door, which was at approximately 11:While she claims she was present, she has also admitted, (see attached e-mail) that she was being “consoled” by the ACC Event Planner, because the bride was upset regarding the flowersInstead of trying to calm the distraught bride, she sought consolation of her ownI have also attached the said message from my mother, in which she stated “Thank you for your patience and care.” No where did she state “hard work” or “more”In fact, my mother has offered to speak on our behalf in this regardShe messaged MrsJ [redacted] in regards to a cake stand and S’mores bar my father and I built after Mrs J [redacted] failed to provide any leads in that regard or any additional input in regards to design in those areasMrsJ [redacted] , as noted in the message, was looking for something similar for other clientsUnfortunately, that was not a service afforded to us, as it was other clients of MMJ EventsIn fact, in regards to design and layout of the wedding space and reception space, MMJ Events did not “design” any aspect, though they did provide a Gold Mail Box for cards I designed all of the signage for event, as well as the kissing menus, table numbers and meal tickets for the receptionIn addition, the bride and myself found and wrote content for the thank you’s, programs, and invitationsI ordered, and placed, all of the lighting as well as a special monogram lightIn addition we found and ordered the guestbook, and unity candleWe also designed labels for our “dessert tables” which were given to MrsJ [redacted] by myself the day of the wedding and asked to be put out with the dessertsIt was noted by the mother of the bride as well as many additional individuals that these labels were never placed with the desertsOnce again, a failure, not on our part, but as should be expected in $6,day of wedding planning. In regards to Aisle Planner, following our wedding our access to our personal wedding site was terminatedWhile both the bride and I could log into Aisle planner we could not access our personal wedding siteMy wife corresponded with MrsJ [redacted] about our access and MrsJ [redacted] responded that she would “reach out to AP and see how long lstays active after the wedding.” (See attached) I reached out to Aisle planner myself and this is the response I received: “We never delete anythingOnce a wedding is over, the planner can archive it so it doesn't count toward their plan limit, however archived weddings aren't available for clients to log in to.” (See attached)Finally, MrsJ [redacted] has made claims the bride and I and communications with other vendorsWhile we sought to converse with both the florist and the drapery vendor in regards to issues on the wedding day, we have never used negative reviews “as a form of blackmail.” I did communicate with MrsJ [redacted] what would be reflected in any review that my wife or myself made regarding our service with MMJ, however that is not indicative of any form of refundWe are well within our legal rights and freedoms to review the services of any business in which we purchased servicesIf this were not the case, then our own freedoms would be dismissedUnfortunately, we have felt mislead by MrsJ [redacted] in our multiple attempts to communicate, but following our weddingAs well, we have felt complete disregard for our concerns and disappointment that we felt on our wedding day, to which a paid thousands of dollars to make a wonderful experienceIt was far from it, but one of our costliest vendors, MMJ Events, claims that they have nothing to do with our disappointmentIt is unfortunate, and we understand that MrsJ [redacted] feels no responsibility for our perception of the services we received as we had hoped to come to an amicable agreementWe have not attempted to “scam” anyone, as all of our correspondence will indicate

What this client is claiming is not only false, but what is starting to look like a scam to get as much of a free wedding as possibleThe only truthful statement in this complaint is that I do have an impeccable reputationIn years I have never had an unhappy client, and I have never had a
negative reviewBelow is what was done on my behalf in terms vendor booking aloneNot including any time spent on design or timeline-Scheduled and attended two venue appointments when trying to find a venue-Scheduled and attended two floral appointments -Scheduled and attended a rental appointment *Scheduled two videography appointments*Scheduled photography appointment -Found makeup artist and scheduled trial to coordinate with a photo session -Found hair artist and scheduled trial to coordinate with a photo session -Researched and presented cake vendorsThe clients choose to use a vendor out of town*Per the clients request they did not need help finding a DJThey wanted to use a friend -Scheduled and attended stationary appointment -Scheduled draping appointment -Sand managed their guest room blocks -The client decided on a different rental company for linens, in which I managed their linen order*Based on my package I do not attend these booking meetings Out of these meetings they booked out of the total vendors they had(cake, linen, and their DJ friend were the additional 3)I also have record of email exchanges, and that is after I had purged those I did not need to keepOut of all the meetings I ever attended which is more than what is listed aboveI was late to two meetings. One I was on time, but had trouble finding parking downtown, at rush hour, in the pouring rainThe second was a childcare issue in which I was no more than minutes lateI did apologizeI called and went over contracts and timeline with every single vendor that was for their day, except for their DJ friendI made the groom aware that I had called and left voicemails with no returned callsWhen the groom called his friend, he was told I never calledAt that point I confirmed that I had the correct number, in which I was told I didAfter the wedding the bride and groom accused me of lying, and that I never called their friend to begin with, in which I pulled up my Verizon phone bill, highlighted the DJ’s phone numbers in the multiple attempts I made to call himAgain, the whole truth is not being told with the floristsThe florist did not bring the wrong flowersThe bride had requested light pink flowers and any dark pink that were to be used be subtle, about 10% dark pinkThe day of the wedding, she felt as those the % was more than 10%The florist immediately rearranged some things to make her happyAt the end of the day the flowers did not come in all dark pink, NOT 80%, NOT 50%, NOT even 30%This comes down to what someone else’s perception of 10% isI was present for a full hours per my contractI was in the cocktail, ceremony, and reception room for the full hours, with the exception of when I ate my dinner along with the photographer and videographerAllowing myself a meal is also in my contractI eat when the bride and groom eats so that I am available when they need meThe Aisle Planner account was not deletedThere was an issue with login after the wedding was over and archivedThe minute the client made me aware of it, I immediately contacted the software company and it was back up and running with no issues.I have a message that was sent to me by the mother of the groom after the wedding, she thanked me for all of my hard work and moreI was advised by the Revdex.com and everyone around me to post this messageAlthough I realize it would help my case, I have chosen not to post it out of respect for his motherThe bride and groom have gone to a number of their vendors asking for money back, and using negative reviews as a form of blackmailThis business is not just business to me; it is personal, as I have put my heart and soul into growing itI have already contacted my attorneyThis scam will end

I apologize as I had not had a chance to further respond to the above mentioned complaintIt has been resolved with MMJ Events outside of the Revdex.comCan the complaint be updated to reflect this? Thank you!
