Review: This business charged us 395.00 4 years in a row for tax preparation. The last year our bill was 895.00. We were not told of the increase.

We had used this tax preparer for 4 years and we were always charged 395.00 for our taxes to be prepared. We went in for our tax appointment in 2009 as usual and our taxes that year were simpler than previous years. We were not told about the cost of our tax preparation going up during our appointment. We received the completed tax forms with a bill attached for 895.00. When we looked at the bill we noticed instead of a flat fee we had been charged by the minute they spent on our forms. We learned that the business had been purchased by another person...a lady named [redacted].... and she had decided to charge us by time spent without notifying us of the new policy. We have just recently finished paying off that huge bill but we still feel this way of doing business was unethical and shows very poor customer service. Desired Settlement: We feel we should have been billed the amount we paid previous years which was 395.00. The restitution we are seeking would be the difference between the previous years billing amounts and what we were billed in 2009 which was 895.00. ... we believe the difference is 500.00 And this amount is fair and equitable.

I am attaching the original invoice and the 2nd page of the [redacted]'s 2009 tax return. The work, billling and signing of the tax return was done by [redacted] not [redacted]. As part of the purchase agreement of M&N Tax he was to provide the above services for 1 year.
