So you're saying it is OK not to discuss them PRIOR to being charged? I specifically asked about charges when I was there. I want to know why I was not advised of the charges WHILE I WAS THERE. You are VERY aware of the various services that you offer, and the fees associated with them. Why do you blindside patients after the fact. If they are discussed prior, better decisions can be made. It looks and feel like a trap.

The referring provider ordered a diagnostic mammogram, which is different from your annual screening mammogram. Diagnostic mammograms are used to explore or determine if abnormalities exist in the breast tissue. Most insurance companies apply the cost of a diagnostic mammogram to a patient's deductible, but, as a provider, we are often unaware if the patient has met their annual deductible or how much the patient's individual plan will pay towards the exam.
The Breast Center completed and billed your insurance for a diagnostic mammogram, which was the exam ordered by your physician. Insurance coverage varies and it is the responsibility of the provider to bill and collect the patient responsibility as determined by the benefit parameters set forth by the insurance carrier.
