I have attached a couple of letters that I had received from MHPAlso I included water meter prices and his invoice from purchasing the water meter I find it interesting that one letter states they have no record of us asking for a water bill, yet another letter indicates that we have askedI have sent phone bill records of the times we had called, and during those conversations, my husband had asked a few times for a copy of the water billAgain, it was stated to him that "its like $128", however, without seeing a breakdown of the bill, can't justify paying that Also, the invoice that is attached shows the water meter was $214.95, and with 6% sales tax would make the unit $227.85, but then there was shipping costs of $(which meters were purchased, so divided by would make it $Which leaves a total of $238.72, doesn't explain the letter that says they do not make a profit The letter stated that our pipes must have "thawed and that is the reason they leaked inside", they were not frozen when he had changed the meterWe knew our one pipe inside had a leak in which we stressed to Louis to not turn the meter on when changed, he agreed I am going to throw this out there for thought If the pipes were frozen and became thawed, if the water meter was working and his shutoff valve on his end was working, would the water inside the trailer where the pipe was leaking have a continuous pressurized stream for hours??? I find it interesting that one letter states they have no record of us asking for a water bill, yet another letter indicates that we have asked. I have sent phone bill records of the times we had called, and during those conversations, my husband had asked a few times for a copy of the water bill. Again, it was stated to him that "its like $128", however, without seeing a breakdown of the bill, can't justify paying that.

Also, the invoice that is attached shows the water meter was $214.95, and with 6% sales tax would make the unit $227.85, but then there was shipping costs of $32.61 (which 3 meters were purchased, so divided by 3 would make it $10.87. Which leaves a total of $238.72, doesn't explain the letter that says they do not make a profit.

The letter stated that our pipes must have "thawed and that is the reason they leaked inside", they were not frozen when he had changed the meter. We knew our one pipe inside had a leak in which we stressed to Louis to not turn the meter on when changed, he agreed.

I am going to throw this out there for thought...
If the pipes were frozen and became thawed, if the water meter was working and his shutoff valve on his end was working, would the water inside the trailer where the pipe was leaking have a continuous pressurized stream for 8 hours???

Please help us get this resolved quickly.

Thank you,

Dear Revdex.com of Western Pa: ID [redacted]
The tenant’s water meter broke because the home had no heat in it or the heat tape failed.
We did not...

turn on the water, the weather warmed up and whatever pipes that had
ruptured during the freeze started leaking water. Our Park Rules are very clear; ANY
DAMAGE RESULTING FROM FROZEN PIPES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
OCCUPANT. The tenant has a copy of the rules as they signed for them on move in
plus they are posted in the Mobile Home Park.
Our company has no record of the tenant asking for water bills, the bills are sent out by
mail quarterly. The tenant mentions “Meter Repair”, there is no repairing of a water
meter when it explodes, it has to be replaced which our company did. The tenant
mentions that they were never late paying water/sewer bills, not true; they paid late fees
at least four times in the past. Their letter mentions that they are good tenants; our
company never said anything to dispute that.
If the tenant has water damage in their home they should contact their Home Owners Ins.
Company to seek a remedy.
Sincerely,

Review: Jan 2014 our water meter broke, and went without meter/water until April 2014. They replaced it and we told them not to turn water on until we can inspect inside mobile home pipes for leaks. They turned water on when no one was home and it ran for at least 8 hours, flooding a bathroom and damaging floors. We asked them to repair the damage they had caused, they sent a contractor to check out the damage, then days later, they said it was not their responsibility. We asked several times for water bill from Jan 2014 until May 2014, never received it. Boy were we surprised when we received a bill June 25 for $531.96, which includes previous balance $128.07, late fee $25 and water meter $250 (also due by June 30th)! The meter repair was never discussed as far as the cost being put on us, or how much it would be. We have tried several times to get in touch with the landlord, leaving voice messages and text messages, but he does not respond. I have been paying lot rent and water/sewer there for 5 years, never was late. We have been good tenants, never had complaints about us, etc. I don't understand why they won't work with us. I renovated the home before moving in 5 years ago. This includes new floor boards, carpet, vinyl flooring, new walls, wall paper, paint. We do indeed take care of the home. We need to have the damage repaired, which is a 10x10 area of flooring.Desired Settlement: Replacement of flooring and floor boards due to water damage caused by neglect of landlord (rather their hired help). Carpet padding needs replaced. Carpet needs deep cleaning. We also don't want to pay a late fee for a water bill that was requested several times, nor should there be a bill for the months that we did not have water service. The charge for a new water meter was not discussed before hand, we should've had a choice, have them do it for 250 or hire our own contractor.
