Mobile Mower Techs Reviews (%countItem)

6/17/19 rep comes to my home to see about my PTO not engaging. Did not do anything but put belt back on and charged me $91.11.
Made an appointment for 6/17/19 because my PTO would not engage. I advised Mobile Tech that this was not the first time this had happened. The tech arrived about 5:30 p.m. and it took him approximately 5-10 minutes to put the PTO belt back on. In less than 60 days the PTO failed to engage again. Before this incident with the PTO I had attempted to make an appointment with Mobile Tech to fix a steering problem. The appointment was never made by them to fix the steering because I needed a later time slot that was not 8 or 9 a.m.. After I asked for that as I usually did, they never emailed me back. They do not have a phone that they answer, and you can only contact them for an appointment via email. Therefore I had to hire another company to fix the steering problem which was just a steering bushing. However, within a few days the PTO failed to engage again. My new company diagnosed the problem and had to CHANGE THE BELT, not just slip it back on. I was told it was stretched and should have been changed. The new tech changed the belt and made all necessary adjustments and the PTO now engages perfectly. Even though Mobile Tech has a 30 day warranty period, this was a bad call because they did not do the proper repairs initially. They just put a "band-aid" on the PTO problem and left it wide open to happen again, which it did in less than 60 days. Extremely disappointed in having to pay for the same problem more than once! I also expressed my disappointment on their *** page but there was no response.

Desired Outcome

Refund

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday between either the windows of 8-12 or 1-5. We have certain routes that we maintain throughout each week; therefore, certain zip codes can only be scheduled in the morning and others in the afternoon.

Below you will find the email correspondence with ***. Her last email, in our opinion, was somewhat heated thus it seemed most logical to us that it was in everyone's best interest for *** to find another service provider that would better meet her needs due to our time frames not working for her.

We reattached a lawnmower belt for her in June of 2019. We did not hear anything about the matter until August of 2019. We have a 30 day guarantee on repairs which is clearly stated on our website.

Thank you for your time,

***

Again, I am sorry but I have responded over and over that on any given day, I am never available until after 11:30 am as I have HORRIBLE ARTHRITIS and it takes awhile for me to get moving....I don't get out of the bed until after 10 am...so again I am never available before then. Thank you.

Our timeframe is 8-12, I could do 9-12 with a call ahead. Will that work for you?

Customer Response • Sep 25, 2019

This is just a continuation of avoiding the truth. Since March 2019 they knew that I needed later appointments because of my serious osteoarthritis and the tech always came later; same thing with the time in question in June; both times the tech came later. However, when I tried to do the same thing in August with a later appointment it was not acknowledged even after several emails back and forth. *** knows that is the truth just from reading the emails. If they didn't want to deal with me so late in the day, they should have just said so instead of wasting my time. Nevertheless, right after this I had to find another tech to deal with the steering and to also do something about the belt which fell off again and I had to pay AGAIN for the same problem. However, this time the belt WAS CHANGED AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INITIALLY because it WAS STRETCHED OUT. So this boils down to a matter of the tech coming late in June, he had to wait around until a thunderstorm stopped, he talked to the wrong person in my driveway about the issue, and then proceeded to just put the belt back on because he had to get back to *** because his day was over!! Knowing what I know now, he more likely than not did not have the correct belt with him, did not want to come back and put on the correct belt and just stuck it back on and charged me almost $100 for nothing. I want a refund or I will continue to pursue this with the credit card company because of shoddy workmanship regardless that it was past 30 days but within 60....

Below you will find the FIRST correspondence from *** since we successfully repaired her belt on 6/17. I am going to make a fairly logical assumption and and maintain that if there had actually been a problem with her belt post the 6/17 appointment we not only would have been notified (to which we would have responded to immediately) but she would have made complaint in her subsequent email that you will find below.

On 8/1 *** emailed asking for help with a totally DIFFERENT problem. She made no mention of being unhappy with the previous 6/17 repair but instead included in her request for services - "Thanks and look forward to seeing you again."

Again, we only service certain areas at certain times, which is our right to do so. We also offer the option for customers to leave their equipment accessible if our time frames are not convenient.

In ***'s most recent response she is clearly attempting to threaten us.

There was no request for services post the 6/17 repair. Thus, it would seem as though *** has no claim to make in this situation. We have thousands of customers and have been very accommodating when correcting a situation that we have been at fault for by either either returning at no charge or by refunding payment. Which I am proud to say that neither happens often.

I don't store my tractor over the winter; I keep it covered and use it and always run it for various yard tasks. I filled it with gas yesterday and started it however it went 2 feet and died. No click, no nothing. So I checked the fuse and the fuse is fine. (That is what it was last year, when this happened). So I'm thinking, battery, spark plug, clogged fuel filter, etc. It is a Troy Bilt Bronco (2011) in case it needs a battery or anything else. Thanks and look forward to seeing you again.

Why I wasn't aware of this business sooner I'll never know! But boy am I glad I found them. I was so thrilled with the extremely fast turn around from first contact to job done! and at a very reasonable price. Now for the first time in years, the steering on my tractor is so much easier because one tire and the rim were replaced, instead of being patched again (like a previous company had done twice; I struggled turning the wheel and didn't know why it was so hard on my arthritic joints). I am planning to have my blades and oil changed next month. Thank you for your awesome service and I recommend them highly.
