September 2017 my wife and I purchased a ***, the vehicle did not come with a radio, but the salesman suggested we go to Mobile Music as they handle all the electronic installations. Matt, the store manager, sold us a Rockford Fosgate, waterproof stereo. Matt stated that he had installed many of these in ***, watercraft and ATV's as the unit is totally waterproof and has no glare which would therefore not require a hood or any other modifications. With that guarantee my wife and I purchased the unit and had them install it. The unit sits at a 40 degree angle facing the sky, resulting in total glare, only at night is it visible. Five times we have asked to have the unit removed, starting in October 2017, as it does not meet the conditions that we where told, Matt continues to insist that we are the first customers to complain and that a new mount was coming out by Rockford. It has been 10 months now and Matt refuses to fix the issue or does he or the owner return any calls. False claims for the purpose of making a sale is ethics issue that can not be tolerated.
Thank you for reaching out to myself on this Customer issue. I have talked to Matthew (store manager) on this once since becoming the owner of Mobile Music. The Customer refuses to bring the vehicle into the shop to have us look at it. We are willing to replace it with another unit as well as swap to another model unit however Mr. is unwilling to allow us to help him. There are several settings in the radio that change day/night intensity on the display. Mr *** could have created a display setting that does not allow the display to work to the best of its ability. Being an open roof vehicle glare is always an issue with any unit. Polaris has positioned the radio in the best possible mounting option for the least amount of glare available. We have used that mounting option to create the best option for Mr.’s vehicle. Mr.’s only solution has been to remove it and get a refund. However if he wants it refunded than we need to make an appointment that fits his and our installation schedule and remove the unit. We will not charge to remove it and will refund the price of the radio. (399.00 total)On our receipt we have our return policy. It states “EXCHANGES/REFUNDS: Products may be returned or refunded within 20 days of purchase date. Product must be BRAND NEW in the original box with all parts included. There will be a 15% restocking fee, plus a fee for any missing parts on all returns. Check may be issued and sent from corporate office for a refund.” I am willing to work with Mr., Once the radio has been installed it is not new anymore, I do not know if he has all the packing material/box of the radio, we are way past the 20 day mark. All of this Mobile Music is willing to waive to please Mr.. We will have a check ready once we remove the unit for him. I am rejecting this response because: Since date of installation, some time around September 2017, we told Mobile Music that the stereo was not viewable during the day and where given the run around. We where then told the stereo company was making a new mount that would remove the angle of the stereo, this still has not happened. We have not been contacted by Mobile Music for any correction to this issue, we have left several messages as the manager is not usually at the store on weekends, we have send on line requests using their web page and still have not been contacted, we have stopped in and left requests for Matt to call us and still nothing. When I last spoke with Matt he told me that he would have to check with the owner and would call me back, again there was no call back. If Mobile Music has attempted and we where unable to answer the phone perhaps they should leave a message. we have wanted the stereo removed since last year, the owners would appear to not have all the information or events that have gone on. The manager mislead us and then continued to side-step the issue and apparently did not inform the business owner. I would look forward to speaking with the owner on this issue, or setting an appointment for stereo removal, I have all the original box's just as they gave them to us.

My response to your letter refunds the entire amount of what you paid for the Radio.
I am also doing additional labor to remove it for FREE.
We at Mobile Music would like to resolve this issue. I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the radio performance under direct sunlight.
I have agreed to your offer, which was to remove the radio and refund your money for it.
I would like to understand what more you are looking for?
