Pastor [redacted] contacted Mobility of StLouis about installing a commercial stairlift in his churchWe gave him a quote that included all the all the statutory fees we were aware of at the timeAfter we applied for the permit, StLouis County informed us that now they are enforcing their requirement for engineered drawings all commercial projectsStLouis County is now required to enforce this regulation due to a lawsuit brought against themWe went back to Pastor [redacted] and advised him that these drawings could cost up to $to $We did not know the actual cost for this project, however from our past experience this was appropriate estimateWhen we explained this to Pastor [redacted] he was upset and said they did not have the extra fundsHe later sent a text to us stating he and other board members unanimously agreed that they would spend no more money on this projectWe then responded we understood how they felt and would return all funds provide for this projectThe church has not paid Mobility any money for this project and we will absorb the permit fee of $This dispute is not related to the inspection in any way, but is related to a building and mechanical permit issued by the CountyThis was an event we could not have foreseen as the policy change was not announced by StLouis County on their website or in their literatureThe installation of the outlet was handled by the Church with an unknown electricianPastor [redacted] got a quote from a licensed electrician that we have worked with in the past for $Pastor [redacted] said it was too expensive and that they would do it themselvesMobility of StLouis has not seen any documentation of the installation, invoicing, or proof that the proper permitting process was followedWe had already discounted this product over twenty percent in an effort to get the church the equipment it needs, so we were going to do this project at costIt is unfortunate how the situation has evolved, but this added expense was not within our control
