Mother brought a van for my disable brother in march 2020... First lift didn't work, shop kept the car for 2 weeks for them to fix that... April doors by the lift would not open another 2weeks in shop.. May other door won't open again another 2 weeks in shop... June same problem with doors, another 2weeks in... Now end of july into the middle of August entire computer system has went haywire they have the car again in the shop for almost 3 weeks now

Purchased used w/c van with extended warranty from Akron. Was told they had buy back program since we did not know how long vehicle would be needed. Spouse passed away unexpectedly 10 mos after purchase. We put 2600 miles on van. When I contacted “Dan “ re buyback he offered me $23,000 and I still owe $38,500. We’ve reached an impasse w negotiations. How many times does a vehicle depreciate? I expected to loose a little but not that much! This is unfair, they are ripping off the dead!!!! As if my loss isn’t hard enough to deal with!

My ex-husband purchased a van in December 2018 at the Norristown PA location for $18,000. Two months later, in February of 2019 the van broke down in Hartford CT due to bad catalytic converter which he had to pay for, while at the location in Hartford (very helpful) they also made us aware that the hoses for the lift system were all dry rotted and would require replacement.
He passed away in April 2019. As executor of his estate, when I called to see if they would be interested in repurchasing the van it took 3 telephone calls to get a reply, then several emails and weeks after bringing it in for appraisal to get the offer. The result? $3700!! They told me the lift system that they charged over $13,000 for was only worth $2312.
I was not looking to make a profit, but they obviously were as these vans on their website list no less than $15,000. How many times to they resell the same vehicles at these exorbitant prices.
I agree with one of the other comments on this report this company takes extreme advantage of the handicapped individuals that have no other recourse and need these vans. I have no objection to them making a profit, but like this?
The electric wheelchair makers are just as bad, but that is for another post.

Good Afternoon,
Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. Our inventory department has been in touch with Aline Cook today 8/29/19 and we have significantly revised/corrected our offer on her wheelchair accessible van to meet current market conditions. Ms. Cook has accepted the new offer and I believe that MobilityWorks has fulfilled her expectations to repurchase her deceased ex husband's van. Thank you again for making us aware of this issue. It is a sad state when mobility works takes advantage of the disabled and death of people. Disappointed that less than 2 yrs and 15,000 miles , death then it depreciated $27,000. Wow . Feel taken advantage of big time.

I would happy to review the offer that was made to purchase your wheelchair accessible van and make sure that it reflects the current fair market wholesale value. I cannot identify the customer appraisal from the information you have provided. Please provide the original client name and or VIN number of the van we gave you the pricing on so I can double check our offer figures.
Thanks

I will call you David, instead of putting info online. These vehicles are very expensive to purchase and buyer beware that when you no longer need “ fair wholesale price is a joke” . Less than 2 years ...15,000 miles equals a depreciation of $27,000 dollars wow....

Mobility of Santa Clara, Ca has a guy named Michael L who worked on my door problem on my full size Ford Van with a UVL Braun lift. Michael had good knowledge of the door opener and its related parts, and made my wife happy cuz she got the vibe this was a savvy guy that was keen on this Braun lift. Sorry to say all our dealings we have had with this Van of 16 years have not been good. Threw are trials and tribulations with the handicap shops we have found not all the people that put their hands on this equipment have went threw the certification required by the Braun Corporation to service and work on these elaborate systems. So , even if we have to drive 90 miles each way to get to Santa Clara , we have renewed faith in man kind, thanks to '' Michael L'' . The hope is, maybe *** 12 miles away will one day have a '' Michael L '' of their own.

A family member I am representing purchased a Dodge van prior to his death with handicap equipment with the intent of using it to aid his disabled wife. This vehicle was purchased from the Riverside location.

I tried contacting Brad, from MobilityWorks Riverside on 3 separate occasions via email. This was a follow up to a family member's failed attempts to solicit a response from him for 2 weeks. In total, there were 3 weeks of attempted communication and no response.

The van was unsafe when it left the lot and has consequently required numerous repairs. When his daughter drove it from the lot, a fuel pump and filter issue caused vapor lock, resulting in drivers being stranded in the middle of the desert for hours. The replacement cost incurred was $746.59.

Below is a list of some other repairs that required immediate action:

· Worn out motor and transmission mounts (Replacement cost:$592.19): Caused unsafe vibration at highway speeds would have led to damage to engine/transmission. Both required replacement.

· Wheel bearings ($2,934.69): Last week, the left front wheel bearing failed and the right front required replacement. The left was in a condition that could have caused loss of control of the vehicle, or loss of the wheel assembly.

In summary, the vehicle Mobility Works Riverside sold was not in basic and safe operating condition. The expenses detailed above, have amounted thus far, to a sum of $4273.47.
