Review: In the fall of 2012, I placed a claim with my homeowners insurance to cover the cost (minus my deductible) to replace my roof after damages from a major storm. In December 2012, I gave Danny Mobely, the owner of Mobely exteriors, a deposit of $3,000 to replace my roof. Mr. Mobely said he had two jobs in front of mine and would likely be able to start the work in January, depending on the weather. January passed, and no roofer. I called numerous times and did not receive a return phone call. After weeks, and a final call when I asked for my deposit back, he returned my call and said he was still behind and blamed the weather. I accepted the excuse again. He finally showed up in the springtime and unfortunately, do to personal circumstances, I had to ask him to come back another time. He said that was fine, just let him know and he would even slide my job in front of another once I could get the work done. I called him again in early July to let him know I was ready again. At that time, he again told me he had two jobs ahead of me and would be here in a couple weeks (sound familiar?). In August, I received a letter from my homeowners insurance provider. They said they were canceling my policy because the work was not completed. I spoke with Mr. Mobely and he agreed to write a letter to my insurer to say the work is scheduled to be completed in September. The letter, along with an explanation and a copy of the canceled $3,000 check was acceptable to my insurer at the time. On Sept 18th, I received a call from my insurer asking for the start and completion date for my roof. Mr. Mobely has still not come to do the work! I contacted him and he said he would be here by Sept. 30th. I contacted my insurer and they said my policy would be canceled on Sept 23rd if the work was not completed. I connected with Mr. Mobely again and he said he would get extra crew and would be here on the first dry day. There was 0 precipitation, no wind and sunny skies on Sunday, Sept 22nd, Monday, Sept 23rd, Tues 24th and most of Wed, Sept 25th. He did not come on Sunday, but he did call on Monday, Sept 23rd to say he was not feeling well and would come do the work the next day. It is Thursday, Sept 26th. Mr. Mobely has not come and is not returning my calls, emails or texts.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr. Mobely to come start and finish the job by the weekend. If there are any repercussions from my homeowners insurance cancellation and relationship with that company, I would like Mr. Mobely to pay damages.
