Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution of a completed job satisfactory to me Our phone conversation prior to the completion of the gutters & downspouts and eventually the gutter covering was not quite what was described by the business, but I am not wishing to further make this an issue The gutters, downspouts, and gutter coverings look good and, hopefully, the water flow off of our roof will be contained within the wider gutters which was the main reason for new gutters & downspouts Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
We are meeting with *** *** from Abrams Roofing and the Owens Corning representative on April 14th at 2:p.mI will not accept any findings until we have met with these individuals and will discuss an agreeable solution to the problems in my house. I hope to have a resolution this week
Regards,
*** ***

Contractual work was performed on the property located at *** *** Drive, Louisville, Kentucky ***A new roof was installed on August 6, Our contract (***) came with a two year guarantee on laborThis was an insurance job due to hail
damageThe contract called for reuse of the existing metal edgings and reuse of the existing flashings per the insurance company's procedures. On August 28, 2012, a second contract (***) for partial gutter installation (near and driveway sides of home only) was completedThis work came with a two year guarantee on laborThe homeowners also elected the optional work on this contract for installation of Leafproof gutter cover on the entire home which came with a one year guarantee on labor as stated on the contract.October 14, 2013: Called and left a message regarding a leak and meeting. October 18, 2013: Called and left a message regarding a leak and meeting.October 21, 2013: Met owner at noon regarding the leakWe sealed an area of question at the rear lower-pitched roof at no charge.April 9, 2014: Went back and sealed an area of question at the corner of flashing.March 16, 2013: Received a call from Mrs*** regarding a leak.March 18, 2013: West back and sealed an area of flashing at no charge.March 23, 2015: Told Mrs*** if the leak continued in the area, new flashing would need to be installedApril 20, 2015: Abrams installed ice and water shield under the shingles in the area of question.August 24, 2015: Went to property and removed gutter and gutter cover in the area of questionDetermined that the source of the leak was due to water entering through the fascia and behind the inch gutterThis section was not part of the scope of our contract.Water from the valley (see pictures) was backing up into the gutter and running over backside into the open fasciaThis area was not part of the roofing contract and was not visible to the crew upon the tear-off and re-roofingI installed a piece of metal flashing at the valley tail to extend the water away from the fasciaThe gutter was left off in that area and stored to make sure that we had taken care of the leak.I talked to Mr*** and explained the reason for the gutters being removedI asked him if it was still leaking and he said that it was not leakingI told him I would come back and install the gutter cover when weather permitted and that he should have a larger gutter installed in the valley area to carry that amount of water.I will reinstall the previously-removed gutter and gutter cover from roof storage but cannot be responsible for holes in the fascia where squirrels enteredThe openings in the fascia were a situation that neither party was aware of until the gutters were removed to investigate a leak and has been a part of the problem for a long time, possibly before the new roof was installed.February 5, 2016: Called Mrs*** and told her I had received her complaint from the Revdex.comI asked her if the roof was leaking and she said noI told her I would be there before the end of the day to reinstall the gutters and gutter cover and she said “Thank you.”I went to *** *** at 1:p.mon February 5, 2016, and found that the gutter and gutter cover that I had recently removed and stored under the soffit were goneI then went and purchased new gutter and gutter cover to replace it.February 8, 2016; I called Mrs*** and asked her if she or Mr*** could meet me anytime during the weekShe said maybe Thursday or FridayI told her to give me a call once she’d confirmed what day would work bestOur meeting was set for Friday, February 12th at 11:a.mFebruary 12, 2016: I met with Mrand Mrs*** at *** *** as scheduledI brought pictures for Mrs*** of the roof, gutter and flashing areas in question because she could not get on the roofMr*** did get on the roof with me and I explained that the roof was not the cause of the leakThe leak was due to the size of the gutters and because there was no downspout in that areaThe water built up and ran over the backside of the gutter into the fasciaI also provided Mr*** with pictures taken before I installed the new gutter showing him that squirrels were not entering this area even though the gutters had been ofI showed him another area where they were most likely getting inAll matters have been resolvedWe shook hands and Mr*** said he looked forward to working with us in the future. If you have any questions, I can be reached at ***Respectfully,*** ** *** President

On March 11, we received a call from the *** residence in regards to a mold issue inside their homeWe were told that her insurance adjuster said that there was no drip edge and that one of the mold abatement personnel said that this was the cause of her mold issueWe sent a serviceman out
to investigateWe could not make it Friday because of the rain but we were there the following MondayMrs*** was correct, there was no drip edge on the homeAfter checking our records and contract, there had never been any drip edge (metal edge) on the home since it was builtOur contract stated " to reuse existing metal edge"We did not do this because there was no metal edge to reuse (as per insurance)We took several pictures while we were thereI went back to the residence on 3-17-and 3-18-to do further investigation of the exterior of the buildingI talked with Mr*** at that time and Mrs*** as well via phone conversation through Mr***s' phoneI went over all of the roof and soffit system visually and inspected for any points of water entryI told Mr*** that I would install new metal edge around the home and that I needed to take some more pictures during or after a good rain to see if I could find any signs of water entryI left a message on 3-24-regarding more pictures and metal edgingI did not get an answerOn 3-30-I called and asked to be on the property to install new metal edgeI went to the residence and installed all of the metal edge but ftbecause I needed another man to assist me in releasing and resecuring the gutter and to replace a section of fascia boardOn 3-31-I went back to the *** residence and installed the rest of the metal edge, fascia and even installed a ridge ventMrs*** asked "I'm not going to be charged for this" and I said "no maam"After visual and internal inspections and even after two days of rain, we could not find any evidence of water entry entering into the roof or soffit system at any pointHowever we did find that there had been inches of blown in insulation added to the attic space after the roof was installedA lot of the insulation had rolled in and covered up the soffit areasThis along with inadequate intake and exhaust ventilation (and crawl space registers being sealed over) has caused a visual condensation in the attic as well as other areasAt this point we are contending that the mold situation has not been caused by the absence of metal edging nor the existing roof systemAbrams has called in an expert for a meeting scheduled on 4-8-@ 11:AM with an Owens Corning representative regarding the roof system and the insulation installationWe have informed the ***s' of this meeting and any one involved may attendAbrams will follow up after this meeting as to the findings of this meetingKindest regards, *** ***Pres

As Mrs. [redacted] stated, we did give her an estimate on 6-23-16 and she contracted us on 7-15-16. [redacted] (a foreman and installer) told her that we were running behind about 3-4 weeks. The gutter guard that was chosen by Mrs. [redacted] was from a new supplier of ours. We experienced a delay in shipment...

which threw us behind a little more on her job. I called Mrs. [redacted] and explained this to her and told her that we would hang her gutters that week and also clean her gutters out when we installed the new gutter guard upon its' arrival. She agreed and was happy with this outcome. We had everything installed within a four day period and did some extra repairs for her on her roof, due to squirrel damage that she was unaware of. She agreed to call the Revdex.com and drop the complaint that day. I had a very good re pore with her and she seemed to be a satisfied customer. Sent on: 10/5/2016 4:29:52 PM

Per [redacted] everything has been settled.
