Mrs. [redacted] is the wife of Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] is and has been a tax client of Mock & Associates for several years. Mr. [redacted] had our firm prepare his 2012 tax return. to separately. This filing status provided the greatest tax saving considering AZ is a community property state. When it came time to file the return we made several attempts and left several messages with Mrs. [redacted] requesting her signature, we received no response. Mr. [redacted] insisted we file the return with out her signature to avoid the failure to file penalty if not filed on time. Last month Mrs. [redacted] came into our office demanding a copy of the tax return that was filed. We informed her there was outstanding invoice for the preparation. Mrs. [redacted] screamed at our office manager and used all types of profanity. We tried explaining to Mrs. [redacted] her filing requirements, but she did not want to listen. Mrs. [redacted] then grabbed the paperwork off the desk of our office manager and stormed out of our office without paying for the work all the time while screaming profanity. Mrs. [redacted] then stood outside our office protesting our company for several minutes. As of today's date neither Mrs. [redacted] nor Mr. [redacted] has paid for the preparation of their 2012 tax return in the amount of $460.

Mock & Associates prepared and electronically filed Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] 2011 tax return on time. We were notified by the [redacted] that the [redacted] tax return was rejected due to an issue with the dependents social security number claimed by the taxpayer. Due to the nature of the...

rejection our office had no other choice but to mail a hard copy of the [redacted] tax return to [redacted], which was done on-time. Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] claim off Mock & Associates not filing their tax return is false. In July of 2013 we were notified by Mrs. Buelow that while attempting to close on their new home purchase they were informed, [redacted] had no record of their 2011 tax return. We assured the [redacted] that their return was filed on time. The [redacted] also informed us that due to [redacted] having no record of their tax return for 2011 they were assessed a failure to file penalty in the amount of $4,323.82. Mock & Associates has no control over the United States Post Office and their delivery methods or the [redacted] and how they process the returns they receive via [redacted]. We assured the client their tax return was filed on-time and that we would work with the [redacted] to correct this error. At no time did we admit we were at fault. In an attempt to alleviate the inconvenience while working with the [redacted], Mock & Associates prepared Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] tax returns for 2012 free of charge. The fee for the preparation would have been $1,420.00. We have exchanged numerous emails with the [redacted] and have met with Mr. Buelow in person to discuss the process and timelines for resolution. Both parties’ understood what was expected of them and the time it would take to complete. Mock & Associates has done everything they said they would do to correct this situation as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the client has become inpatient and they are demanding we refund the penalty [redacted] has assessed. It has never been our policy to refund money to a client when there was no error committed by Mock & Associates in the preparation of their return. Mock & Associates continues to work with the [redacted] to have the penalty abated in spite of the [redacted] leaving negative comments about our ethics, integrity and our company in general, on various consumer websites and internet directories. As for the additional interest they are required to pay on their mortgage, that has nothing to do with Mock & Associates. We strive to provide each and every one of our clients the best service possible and when they feel that it falls short of their expectations, it is important for us to know. We regret that the [redacted] have been forced to endure this process, but we feel confident we have done everything we can do to resolve this situation as quickly as possible. We are currently waiting on [redacted] to respond too our request for abatement and we feel confident Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] money will be refunded.

Review: [redacted] filed a fraudulent tax return without my consent knowledge or signature authorization as required by the [redacted].

Due to this filing I am now owing the [redacted] $20k.

When confronted she refused to assist or even speak to me about the matter.Desired Settlement: This 'accountant' needs to amend this fraudulent return and pay for my cost of having to hire an accountant to fix this mess.

Review: We found out when we purchased a home last year that our taxes were never filed. We called Mock & Associates and advised them that we had a copy of the electronic filing that we paid them to file for us. They looked into and realized that our taxes were electronically rejected and that they failed to notify us. WE walked out taxes into the [redacted] office at [redacted] and paid a 5K fee for failure to file on 7-2-2013 in order to close our home. Mock & Assoc admits the error, apologized and refused to repay us the penalty that they caused. They have offered to do our taxes for free for the next several years! Really? We have requested in writing and in person and have been as polite as we can. They still refuse. We contacted an atty and they advised it would cost us more than 5k to sue. Mock & Assoc advertise that they are with the Revdex.com. They have lost a customer and we are out 5K. Can you possible help us or alert other consumers to beware of this company. They say they will do the right thing, but they don't.Desired Settlement: We only want the penalty paid back. Because of this failure to file, we were not able to lock our loan so we are going to pay approximately 239.00 more a month for 30 years. All we wanted them to pay was the actually penalty of $4,580.96 plus 397.72 for the business penalty.
