Review: [redacted] a sales representative from Modena International Services, sold us a Disney World Getaway on 2-28-14. At this time, he collected the total price of the package, $158.00, by our debit card. He stated that my wife and I were required to attend a tour of the hotel that he booked and verbally agreed to send an immediate confirmation e-mail. This was never sent. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate our son's 7th birthday as well as our 10th anniversary. It was a very sentimental trip to us for these occasions. The Doubletree Hilton, the Orlando hotel, called to confirm our stay on 7-6-14 and sent an e-mail with the required conditions that were never disclosed by Mr. Oke. One of the conditions stated that we needed to provide a major credit card upon check in at the hotel. We do not have credit cards because we are striving to lead a debt free lifestyle and have destroyed the cards we had previously. We have always been able to use our debit card, which displays the Visa logo, with any other business. It was NEVER disclosed that we were unable to use our debit card in order to purchase the vacation. This is especially ludicrous since we paid for our trip using this very same debit card. On 7-6-14, the day before we left for Orlando, FL, I called Mr. [redacted] and told him I never received an e-mail confirmation from him and was never told that we needed to provide a major credit card at the time of check in. He became irate, yelled at me for mispronouncing his name and screamed, "do you know how many times I've heard people tell me that they don't have a credit card? You are calling me the day before your trip?" He then refused to refund my money and told us that we needed to cancel our reservation and hung up on me. It was heartbreaking to tell my little boy that his only birthday present, the Disney World trip, was not going to happen. It was also painful to tell my wife that our anniversary trip was cancelled. We deserve to be fully reimbursedDesired Settlement: I request that we receive a total refund of the $158.00 due to failure to disclose key conditions of the offer and extremely poor customer service. This is not how an ethical business operates.
