I am responding to said complaint. Unfortunately I will have to deny any warranty response. I have included a copy of the warranty as written. If damage has occurred to panel or repaired areas, this alone will void any paint or body warranty. I was unaware of any issues before the rockers where damaged. I have appreciated these customers in the past, unfortunately I feel any response I give will not satisfy the customers needs. I have received and read the complaint. I spoke with customer over a year ago on this matter. As I explained we cannot be expected to warranty against the rust issue for different reasons. One it has damage from improper lifting for serviceThis was not done at our
facility. Both side rockers are crushed in areas that would alone void any warranty. Other issue is cannot warranty rust due to wear and tear from driving in our harsh road conditions. Manufacture only guarantees these vehicles for years, 60,miles. Repairs where completed over 12-years ago. If customer wishes to replace that would have to be a cost of theirs. As we would like to always help our customers to above and beyond treatment, we feel that this is not a issue to workmanship and does not follow our warranty guidelines. I am rejecting this response because: Hi [redacted] this is exactly why we are filing this complaint. Modern Auto Body was aware that the paint did not cover the bottom of the rockers which is why the rust occured. We were led to believe that for the past ten years that they would be willing to repair the rockers but it really is all our fault that we believed them when they told us they would be fixed and they aren't because the same thing happened with the headlight... It was never repaired correctly so we were constantly bringing our vehicle back to them to have the light bulbs replaced when they said something very similar... The headlight was out of warranty and we would need to have pay to have it replaced ourselves so we went to volkswagen and paid to have it replaced. But this isn't how it should have to be and that is why we have filed this complaint. We should have had the repairs done to our vehicle orignially correct. And when we first brought it to Modern Auto Body's attention they should have repaired it immediated and correctly instead of putting it off year after year giving us the hope that it would be fixed at a later time. These are the exact reasons why we filed this claim that the work was not originally correctly done and when we brought it to there attention they didn't cover it under there own warranty. So then is the next problem that they did not honor their warranty when we originally brought this to them? Thanks again [redacted]!
