I bought shutters from buymbs first they said they were not going to ship for two weeks, suddenly I received them at my door, purchased WHITE SHUTTERS FOR MY HOME, received off white beige shutters, ask to return and they said I have to pay for return shipping and also 20 percent restocking fee, which would be more than the shutters. This company is horrible, terrible business practices and robbery, I will never shop her again. Next time I will shop local.

Refund I want these returned and my full balance paid back to my account, I don't need BEIGE shutters. Stop making excuses for your sloppy business practices.

The consumer purchased shutters in the color '001 White'. We were able to deliver the products as ordered within the advertised lead time. After review of the issue, it appears that the customer did not want the product as ordered but instead wanted a different color '117 Bright White' or perhaps an '030 Paintable' to match to a custom shade of paint. For assistance with matching to a specific color, we do have shutter samples available to color match: https://buymbs.com/p-6085-mid-america-shutter-samples-16-color-options.aspx. We provide these samples delivered to our consumers at a low cost of $5 that is then credited back once a shutter order is placed. She contacted us for a return because she needed a different shade of white. We then provided her with return instructions in accordance with our return policy. At the time of checkout, the consumer checked to opt in that they have read and agreed to the terms of the BuyMBS.com policy. This policy can be found on our website here: https://buymbs.com/t-storepolicy.aspx. This policy does include a 20% restocking fee. This restocking fee covers all of the costs we incur to accept an item back including but not limited to covering the initial shipping cost, inspection, re-boxing, etc. As long as the shutters are returned in the condition they were received, we will provide a refund as advertised in our return policy. We sent the return instructions to the consumer on February 3rd.

They use every method not to disclose their return policy on the website and on ordering through amazon.
I ordered mid American shutters through Amazon and Modern Supply was the third party vender. I ordered them on June 16 and the return policy on Amazon doesn't show there policy. I received most of the order number *** on Friday June 21st. After opening the box and placing them on the house the color white seemed to be more cream color and requested a return and refund through Amazon. Amazon sent a request to modern Supply and I received a message from Modern Supply that it was responsibility for the cost of returning the items along with a 20% restocking fee. The original cost of the order $418.00 dollars by credit card and the Amazon site which included shipping and received a email for the label to return the 5 boxes. I went to UPS store near me and was told that each box would cost me approximately $50.00. With the cost of 250.00 for shipping and $80.00 restocking charge. The total cost of $330.00 so I would get my $418.00 return. I talked to individual from Modern Supply about getting some help on cost of the return and was told that was their policy. I visited their website and typed in return policy and the page comes up with no information and indicated this to the representative and her comment was that it doesn't show up until a order is submitted. The representative indicated to me that I could sell them online locally to try and recoup my cost. This company is celebrating it 75th anniversary and if this the way they handle their customers it is shame but this might be the way of making a successful business. The product was shutters from Mid American shutters and I received the remainder of the order which clips on June 24th

Desired Outcome

I would like them to disclose their return policy upfront and not make the customer spend time searching for it or being surprised and out of money they cannot afford.

There response said that the return policy is posted on every marketplace that they sell on. The return policy on Amazon states that that you have to go to their website. They website return policy is very confusing to get their return policy. Their response states that they have a 25% restocking fee but doesn't state that the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the product back to them which resulted in a $ 250.00 charge on a 350.00 item. Maybe they should be more willing to state the return policy upfront when ordering not try to hide it.

Seller shipped item on 11/27/17.FREIGHT BILL ***. However *** lost the shipment.Therefore the shipment never made it on 12/02/17.
Modern Builders Supply was has been aware since 12/04/17 that *** lost the shipment,FREIGHT BILL ***. P.O. *** eventhough the delivery was supposed to be 12/02/17. After some phone calls to the Manager *** and *** at ***. I was told by the Manager at MODERN BUILDERS SUPPLY that a replacement shipment would be sent, however because the delivery was never made. I lost the customer for which I order this product. Now this company is expecting me to pay a 20% restocking fee on the replacement item that was sent to replace the lost shipment. However I no longer need the item since I lost the customers for which I order this item.It is not my fault the shipment never made it and if there is a party responsible here, it should be *** for not delivering, they should pay the shipping and restocking fees of the item I no longer need. I need a quick resolution since it is a lot of money I paid for this item. THE 20% restocking fee they are trying to charge me comes to about $500 dollars according to their calculations. All because they failed to deliver an item. This is a complete rip off no matter how I look at it a lost. Lost the customers now it looks like I will lose $500 bucks for something I never received. Talk about shaddy business practices. I took a picture of the return policy just in case I received the item. However I never received it. I want a full refund. thanks

They should refund me the money.since their shipper failed to meet a deadline.All restocking fees should be waived since they tried correcting their bad delivery and the replacement i no longer have use for since i lost my customers do to their failure.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this order. We apologize for the late response to the Revdex.com as this message was just recently transferred over to us. This order was an unfortunate situation back in 2018 with the carrier we trusted with your order not fulfilling their end of the agreement. Normally these situations are solved by simply sending out the item that was missing or damaged and the replacement arriving in a timely manner. Unfortunately, this item was needed for a job or project and could not be accepted.

Since the item was sent out to you as a replacement and refused it is treated as a return, per our return policy. After a dispute was settled through PayPal, the customer service agent refunded you minus the restocking fee but got the return shipping waived on this order that is normally charged for returns. We apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you and the negative feelings left from this experience. We are making strides to address every situation better, but we cannot account for other parties failing to provide the same service we expect to give our customers.
