American Modern Exteriors did a phenomenal job on my roofing project. The owner and staff is very knowledgeable. The owner and staff educated me and gave pointers during the roofing project. The work that was completed was high quality and done in just a day and a half. When they left the project the yard spotless. They also left a few extra shingles in case there was any emergency repairs that needed to be done.
I would recommend this company to anyone. I was very satisfied with their work.

Review: We contracted Modern Exterior to do our Roof at our Store and Warehouse Location. Upon Completion of our store roof we paid them in full. The next big rain storm we had our roof proceeded to leak in more then one area. We have called and texted numerous times. I missed one phone call and tried calling back a few minutes later with no response. We have left quite a few voicemails none of which have been responded to.Desired Settlement: We would like our roof to be leak free.

This letter is regarding the complaint filed by Mr. [redacted] Case# [redacted].From November 2014 to December 2014, we completed 3 separate roofing projects for Mr. [redacted] on 2 commercial properties and replaced his roof on his residence. All 3 projects are entirely complete, and one project have an unpaid balance still. Mr. [redacted] acknowledged that the projects were completed on all 3 structures as did his building maintenance employee John whom [redacted] directed us to communicate and work with during the process of his projects. The unpaid project located is at [redacted] This project we were contracted to applicate a roof coating on about 25% of the roof surface on the building as well as replace the shingled portion of the roof as per their insurance claim scope of damage. Upon the completion of this project, Mr. [redacted] request an additional 30 days to remit his payment for the contract which we agreed to. At the end of January 2015, I contacted Mr. [redacted] requesting the remaining balance at which time he asked for an additional week to allocate the funds. Again I agreed to the new terms and contacted him a week later. A few weeks later, after multiple phone calls and messages, I received a phone call back from Mrs. [redacted] informing me that [redacted] would be contacting me soon. Three days after speaking with Mrs. [redacted], I spoke with [redacted] who apologized for the avoidance and agreed to meet with my [redacted] at the [redacted] property on Friday Feb. 6, 2015. [redacted] drove down to Milwaukee and when he arrived at the property, he was informed that Mr. [redacted] was not in that day. [redacted] called him multiple times on his cell phone and checked at the other two properties that Mr. [redacted] owns. At the last property, [redacted] was informed that Mr. [redacted] was in fact out of town. After additional attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] over the proceeding weeks, I was finally able to speak with [redacted] who again apologized for not meeting with us and asked for an additional 2 weeks to remit payment. The next two appointments that we scheduled to meet with Mr. [redacted], he was not present and he would not return any of our messages. In March 2015, I was able to reach Mr. [redacted] who stated at this time he would not pay the balance until we replaced the remaining roofs at the [redacted] Milwaukee, WI property. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that we are not contracted to replace the remaining section of the roofs however I was more than willing to give him a quote on the cost if he would like us to replace them. He agreed that it was fine and stated he would mail the final payment to our office. After a week had passed and we still had yet to receive payment, I contact Mr. [redacted] again at which time he answered and hung up the phone. I called back immediately and received his voicemail all attempts. At the end of March 2015, I called Mr. [redacted] again at which time I left him a voicemail letting him know that we really needed to get the final payment and if we didn’t receive payment within 14 days that I would be required to send out a Letter of Intent to request a lien on his property. The next day I received a call from Mr. [redacted] stating that he would not pay his balance and that if we had a problem with that to take it up with his attorney. On April 15th, 2015 I received a call from Mr. [redacted] stating that the roof at [redacted] was leaking and he asked me to have [redacted]e assess the roof. My [redacted]e inspected the entire roof at that property and found multiple areas of leaking on the section of roof that Mr. [redacted] specifically did NOT want us to apply roof coating. The contract for this quote only included the older section of Mod Bit roof and not the EPDM Rubber roof section that I was informed by Mr. [redacted] prior that it was replaced by a different contractor the previous year. I relayed this to Mr. [redacted] and his Maintenance employee John and offered again to draft a quote for replacing the other side (EPDM section) of the roof. Mr. [redacted] declined and stated he would send the remaining payment to us at the end of that week.We still did not receive payment as of May 6, 2015 when I received a call from Mr. [redacted] again stating that the coating section of the roof that we had completed was leaking. I scheduled an appointment with Mr. [redacted] for May 8, 2015 which I personal inspected the coating project and found that the roof was properly functioning without leaks. I did however find over 8 different areas on the EPDM section of the roof that appeared to have leaks occurring. I documented them and took images of the entire roof and went into the building to show Mr. [redacted] and figure out a solution for him. Upon attempting to show Mr. [redacted], he told me he has no interest in seeing the pictures and didn’t care what my findings were and he stated that he wanted us to complete the roof coating on the entire roof located at that property as well as all of the roofs on all of his properties that were leaking. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that it would cost our company well over $80,000.00 and he replied that he didn’t care and was not going to pay the balance then from the [redacted]. Milwaukee, WI project that we had previous completed. We have offered to Mr. [redacted] multiple times to help resolve his leaks and that if he would pay the past due balance from the [redacted] project that we would be willing to replace or restore the other roofs at our cost. I have personally tried to contact him multiple times since our May 8, 2015 appointment and have not received a return call. We are certified by the manufacturer of the roof coating we used and any leaks or issues would be under warranty however there are not any issues with any of the roofs that we were contracted to replace or restore further more we still have yet to receive our final payment. Upon request we can send copies of the contracts between Mr. [redacted] and Modern Exteriors as well as all of the photographs that we took showing the Non-contracted roofs that Mr. [redacted] initially did not want us to work on and the subsequent leaks that are occurring as well as the completed roofs showing full proper and working order. Also, I would like to point out that we have complteted additional work – coating another 15% of the roof at [redacted]. Milwaukee, WI – free of charge as well as additional EPDM/Rubber roof on that property that we were not contracted nor paid to do. If Mr. [redacted] would like us to do additional work for him, we are more than willing however we would need to receive the remaining balance in full prior to signing contract for such additional work. We have explained this to Mr. [redacted] however have not received a reply back.Sincerely,[redacted]###-###-#### Direct###-###-#### Office[redacted]www.ModernExteriorsWI.com

Response:

Horrible communication. Only returned emails and phone calls after I threatened to call the Revdex.com. Gave timelines that he never followed. Two workers came, did a rush job, smoked on my property, and took off. As soon as the job was done owner came over within a couple hours and wanted payment.

Review: Haphazardly slapped my dish on my new roof using less than half of the fasteners. The antenna "failed" with the first wind/ rain storm. Had to pay out of pocket to correct their short-comings.Desired Settlement: Remove the old brackets and repair the damage. Also reimburse me for the cost of having a technician correct the situation.

This letter is regarding the complaint filed by Mr. [redacted] Case# [redacted].

After completing Mr. [redacted]’s roof in June, I spoke with [redacted] and reviewed how the project went.

At that time he expressed that he was very happy with the roofing crew and that everything

went good. Our former [redacted] completed a final inspection and we received final

payment. About a month later, I received a call from Mr. [redacted] who asked if we could send over

someone from the satellite provider/company to figure out why his reception would come in

and out for his satellite TV. Directly after our conversation I called the local Total TV and

scheduled an appointment for them to come out and figure out what the issue was. I then

called Mr. [redacted] back to let him know that they would be out 5 to 7 days from that date. I also

asked him to contact me back if there was any other issues. I received a call from Mr. [redacted] on

Monday July 1st which he informed me that the problem was still not fixed. I called a different

company then, J & J Electronics and asked when they could get over to his house. They

informed me that they were over a week out for the next appointment so I called Mr. [redacted] back

and informed him. He was unhappy with the time frame and stated to me that he could get

someone out in 2 – 3 days. I told him that if that would be a better solution for him that he

could have that company come out and fix the alignment and that we would cover all of the

cost. I also informed Mr. [redacted] that if he could mail the invoice and we would send him a check

for the amount right away. Mr. [redacted] agreed and we hung up. About a month later we still

hadn’t received any invoice from Mr. [redacted] nor the satellite company and I received a call from

Mr. [redacted] who was extremely upset and cursing about us not fixing the issue and that he wanted

his reimbursement. It was at this point he informed me that there were 2 mounting bolts that

were not fully fastened. I again asked him to send an invoice or asked him if he wanted me to stop by and pick it up so I could write him a check right away and inspect his roof. We

scheduled an appointment for September 20th, 2014. I went over to Mr. [redacted]’s house and cut

him a check for the amount the satellite company charged and fastened the 2 bolts completely

into the roof. I had Mr. [redacted] inspect and sign off on the work I performed and he informed me

that he wanted to apologize for writing the complaint to the Revdex.com and that he would be willing

to submit a letter to ask for it to be removed. I apologized for his inconveniences and we

parted ways. About a week ago, I called Mr. [redacted] to follow up and make sure he wasn’t having

any more issues with the satellite and he informed me that he was and that he appreciated my

follow up. He also asked me to let him know where and to whom to send his letter to.

All issues have been resolved and to my knowledge Mr. [redacted] is completely happy with his new

roof now.

They promised to do our roof in May. Called to verify the time and was told they were backed up and would be next day,. Days went by and no calls. I would call and text with no response. Then when I finally got a hold of them was told the crew needed two days to do our roof and rain was in the forecast. It rained 2 days in 2 wks. After many attempts I finally called the owner. He said the guy was on leave. Then a trailer got a flat tire. Then the bearings went out. Then a trucks brakes went out. Finally materials came, sat on roof for a wk One guy shows up at 11 am to take old roof off ,leaves at 5;30. Next day the crew got here and completed roof. Was short some material. Promised to come back next day. 3 days later came back. Didn't clean up around house left bottles, gloves etc. I picked up the lawn and gardens that had old nails and shingles left there, Would not recommend this company to anyone.

[redacted] from American Modern Exteriors made the process of getting a repair done to my roof easy. An appointment was set up to get an estimate and the work was completed. Very personable and easy to work with.

They are reasonably priced. And we thought they were fast and efficient, and polite.
We were very pleased with the results, and they made sure everything was picked up when finished.

Review: We contracted with Modern Exterior for repair of our roof, replacement of our gutters, and repair of our garage door. This contract was entered into in August of 2014. To date, we have not had our garage door repaired. We have paid for services in full. I have attempted to contact this company on a regular basis without response since October of 2014.Desired Settlement: We would like our garage door repaired as expected. If this cannot be accomplished, we would like a cash refund so that we can get our garage door repaired.

This letter is regarding the complaint filed by Mrs. [redacted] Case# 1[redacted].

We have spoken with [redacted] directly before the date of the filing for this complaint in

which I asked if I could call her back since I was on an ice covered roof at the time. I called and

left messages that evening and the following morning – the day she must of filed the complaint.

I personally had a conversation with [redacted] regarding finishing the removal and replacement of

the Garage Door Header in Mid-December in which [redacted] stated “we are not in any rush and

that we are fine with us completing that aspect of the job any time before spring ’15. All work

that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] has been completed as of March 2, 2015.

As I have explained to [redacted] and [redacted], the original sales rep that handled their sale is no longer

with our company and hasn’t been since last October so any contact or attempted contact [redacted]

or [redacted] made with their sales rep we were un-aware of. In February when [redacted] called our

office, we became aware of the [redacted]’s wanting to schedule their Garage Door Header

work out, we apologized for any communication troubles and the work was schedule

immediately and completed within the week.

I personal stopped back out on March 2, 2015 to re-adjust the garage door tension again and

upon asking [redacted], he stated that they were happy and that everything they wanted

done was 100% completed.
