Repair work was contracted at *** *** *** *** to repair the front slate mansard. The cost of the Contracted work was $and a deposit of $was paidShiloh Roofing crew was sent to the property to perform the work. Upon their arrival, the foreman contacted me, Steve
K***/Owner of the company, voicing his serious concerns with the close proximity of the electric wires to where the repair work was to be performed. I immediately drove to this property to access his findings, and I agreed it was an unsafe situation. We work off OSHA approved aluminum ladders, which could be fatal if they come in contact with live wires. Therefore, I made the decision to pull off the job. The customer was immediately contacted via telephone, but no message could be left as his voicemail box was full. I tried several more times before sending a follemail the very next day to ***@***.com. An explanation was given and a refund of the $deposit was the offer. I apologized in the email for not recognizing this sooner and apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused to *** *** ***. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to leave a message for *** *** ***, but his voicemail box always says “mailbox full”. On October at 10:44AM I received an email from *** *** that read “Find a way to complete as there are many things in city that can open up to ya” and an email from *** *** at 11:59AM that read “There are many areas of the front roof requiring repair that can be done and that small section near the wires.....left undone.......so stuff still can be done.......” Upon receiving these 2-emails, I tried calling *** *** ***, but his voicemail box was full. The last time I tried to call *** *** *** was November 16, 2017, but I received no responseI trust you appreciate my concern for the well-being of all that could have resulted had I forced my employees to perform this repair. I’ve been in this line of work for years. I didn’t make it this far by treating people unfairly and by using careless judgmentAs far as reluctance on the part of *** *** *** to sign a Proposal, I would disagree. The Proposal was sent electronically by Shiloh Roofing on August at 4:11pm, and it was returned electronically at 8:41pm from ***@***.com A Contract was electronically sent on August at 10:47AM for acceptance and was electronically returned at 10:and 10:59AM from *** ***. On September 21, *** *** contacted Shiloh Roofing electronically and requested more work be done on the back roof. All of this is documented in emailsShiloh Roofing will be issuing a $check to *** *** *** - $the deposit and $for the inconvenience.
