Review: I am writing to report a fraudulent business that steals money from its customers. It is a small company owned by Anthony C[redacted] called MMC Financial LLC. He owns over 160 properties and he is beleived to have other LLC's as well. My fiancé and I rented a house in Philadelphia at [redacted] St. in May of 2015. When we moved in, it became very clear that the house was not in move in condition and that we had been rushed into the house. There was black dust all over the walls, a large leak in the ceiling, and no sink in the bathroom for months.

Our landlord, Anthony told us that there had been an electrical fire in the house before we moved in. This fire was electrical in nature and put the neighbors in hotels for months. His contractors were not licensed and left a trail of mistakes, leaking pipes, live wires and code violations. He told us that he had been hiding all renovations from L & I.

This culminated in a shutoff notice from PWD because Anthony had removed the water meter and had been stealing from the city for over a year. I contacted L&I about the dangerous electrical box that has already caused a fire in the house. Also, the heating system was caked with dog hair and dust and PGW told us it was an enormous fire hazard. I could not get the house inspected before we moved, but did find out that he does not have a license to rent. We moved out of the house and mailed the keys in. “we will not see a penny,” even if we win in small claims court. He has told us that he has that even if we win in court he has over "$700k in judgements against him, and his assets are in his wife's name". He says he will not give us the money until he can steal the next renters deposit. We are entitled to our security deposit as well as last months rent since he broke the contract by not supplying us with water and sanitary conditions.Desired Settlement: We will personally be taking Anthony to court over the un-returned security deposit and last months rent, which totals $2,200. But as for Anthony, he will continue to steal renter's security deposits and commit fraud. I want him to be investigated as far as humanly possible because I have written evidence that proves he is running an illegal business. This will continue to happen to anyone else that rents from him.
