In this case, the mover, [redacted], determined that they could not practically and safely deliver a rolltop desk up multiple flights of stairs to a loft which also involved a turn.  Weight of the desk was not the issue.  It was simply too large to do it without damaging both the desk and the customer's walls.  Attached is a scan of an e-mail from the movers, [redacted], confirming that it was not possible.  The customer had not provided an accurate representation of what the job entailed, therefore the movers had no choice but to return the product.  The customer service agent, Laurie, at Modern Office had been in contact with and relayed this information to Mrs. [redacted]'s husband that they would be responsible for return shipping and moving charges.  Modern Office paid the original shipping charges to the customer even though the order was cancelled. We regret that the desk could not be delivered.  Modern Office certainly wanted their business and did what we could to deliver the product as requested.  However, we do not feel that our company should be held responsible for a delivery situation that a professional moving company determined not to be reasonably and safely possible.  Mrs. [redacted] is welcome to pursue this with the moving company if she feels their statement is untrue.
