Review: My orthopedist sent me to Modern Rehabilitation Technologies in Smithtown to have orthotics made. Sept. [redacted] Of Orthotics) made a cast of my feet. After a lengthy conversation I felt confident I was in good hands. I left a $100 cash deposit on the $350 orthotics. I trusted him because he had a 30 year relationship with the orthopedist office, even though I was a little leery, because he was the only one in his office, no partner or receptionist. Within 10-14 days the orthotics were to be ready. I called 12 days later, Wed. Sept. [redacted] and left a message. I called again on Monday, this time leaving a message on the main line and cell number (leaving both home and cell numbers). Tuesday no return call, I again leave messages on both lines. Wed. no call, I call the doctor's office and speak to [redacted]. She said she would get to the bottom of this. Later on Wed., Oct. [redacted] he calls my cell. He identifies himself and goes right into telling me my orthotics are not ready because of "fabrication problems", I tell him that is fine, but I wish he would have returned my call so I would have known. He again says (in a rude tone) "I told you I am having fabrication problems." Again I tell him I understand, but I left a $100 and was curious where they were." He then says "Trust me- I was not running away with your money." I was taken back that a "professional" would speak to a client like that, but I was so desperate for the orthotics I just asked when they would be ready. He said another 10-14 days, and I should not worry because they would be a "superior product". Over that weekend (Oct. [redacted]) I discuss the situation with my husband, and a few friends. I leave a message on the two numbers asking for my deposit back. I leave my address (even though he has it) and both of my numbers. It is now Oct. [redacted]. No $100, no orthotics, or even a phone call. This man is utterly unprofessional. The website states they are a dedicated staff. Dedicated in what!Desired Settlement: I would like my $100 deposit back.
