Goodrich Roofing appreciates Ms***'s business We were contracted only to roof the house and shed We did not go into the shed prior or during the install of the new roof Goodrich Roofing installs roofs per the International Residential Building Code (IRC) and per the
manufacturers install instructions IRC Rsays, 'Fasteners for asphalt shingles shall be of a length to penetrate though the roofing materials and not less than 3/4" into the roof sheathing Where the roof sheathing is less than 3/4" thick, the fasteners shall penetrate through the sheathing.' Our contract points out that our standard nail length is 1/4" long Our contract also says that if the nail length is too long and may penetrate your ceiling you must notify us before we start the job Ms*** signed our contract on 12/22/ It is attached Goodrich Roofing will continue to communicate with Ms*** on the issue of nails on her shed We will propose a solution which will require Goodrich Roofing and Ms*** to both participate financially to remedy the situation We are about quality workmanship, customer service and trust We are a roofing contractor who installs roofs the right way but we are not responsible for the pre-existing condition of Ms***'s shed

7/12/17Goodrich Roofing has installed and completed all of our contracted scope of work Mr*** was in the Goodrich Roofing office on July 6th, for a meeting regarding his roof install and payment of the balance owed At the meeting was Nick S***, owner of Goodrich
Roofing, Carlos B***, Production Manager of Goodrich Roofing and Patty A***, Claim Specialist for Goodrich Roofing Mr*** stated that any issues he had with the installation had been resolved except one He stated that there is a 1'x1' area that has a depression Nick S*** advised Mr*** that the depression was caused by the decking and was not a roof install error Mr *** stated that he understood that it was not a roof install error and that he was willing to pay to have the problem corrected and that he already has contracted to have that work done After that discussion, MrM*** agreed that all of his roof issues were resolved and he gave me a check from his insurance company which he and his wife had endorsed and gave Patty his credit card to pay the balance due The ***'s home now has a beautiful new Owens Corning Terra Cota shingle roof Shortly he will be receiving his Owens Corning Limited Lifetime Warranty and his three year Limited Warranty from Goodrich Roofing We apologize for any inconvenience Mror Ms*** has had during the re-roofing process Nick S*Goodrich Roofing

Goodrich Roofing did install the roof at *** *** *** **NW in February 2005. The roof was installed per manufacturer’s instructions and per the City of Albuquerque’s requirements and building code. The roof was inspected on March 5th, by the City of Albuquerque’s building
inspector and passed. See attached copy of inspection report. The homeowner was issued a two year limited warranty on the labor and material per our contract. The majority of homeowners base their decision on the cost, brand of material, color and manufacturers limited warranty. The contract states the brand of material selected by the homeowner, according to our records the brand is ***. ***’s contact info is, *** *** ###-###-####, *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** ** *** The two year limited warranty between *** *** and Goodrich Roofing expired over nine years agoA Goodrich Roofing inspector, James M*** did inspect the roof and advised the home owner that the home owner should contact *** regarding the accelerated wear of the shingles and the granular loss. James also noted that the shingles have some hail damage. Right now the issue is between the homeowner and ***. There is no action that Goodrich Roofing can take until *** inspects the roof and contracts with Goodrich Roofing or another contractor to make the corrective measures per their mutual agreement

Goodrich Roofing has been in communication with Ms*** about her roof. We are scheduled to address her concerns

Goodrich Roofing appreciates Mr***'s business The contract that Mr*** signed on November 18th, states that Mr*** is to pay $+ tax per foot for feet of RidgeCap if that component is not paid for by State Farm. Mr*** also signed under that note Please see
attached copy of the contract.Goodrich Roofing installs roofs per code and per manufacturers installation instructions. We file for components that are used and that are required to be used. We are glad to hear that Mr*** is satisfied with the workmanship on the new roof. Goodrich Roofing does not agree to remove the $charge from the bill. It is Goodrich Roofing's position that we have fulfilled our side of the contract. Mr*** signed his contract in places including under the previously referenced note Mr*** needs to fulfill his side of the contract and pay what he agreed to pay Also enclosed is a copy of the invoice which details that out of picket expense for the ridge cap Goodrich Roofing

Goodrich Roofing installed a Roof Coating on Ms*** roof on 6/6/ On 6/15/she requested an inspection Goodrich Roofing had a lag in getting our inspector out to her house due to multiple factors On 6/30/our inspector, Michael inspected Ms*** roof Michael
reported that the roof was in excellent condition No leaks were noted by Ms*** however, she was concerned because she sometimes hears a 'dripping sound' when it's raining However, there were no signs of leaking noted by her or by Michael Ms*** says that we only wanted her money and now we have, 'decided to walk away' Not true We have responded to Ms*** request for an inspection Her roof is in excellent condition

Goodrich Roofing stands by our original statement Nick S*Goodrich Roofing

Goodrich Roofing has paid the *** invoice for the damage to the wiring. We are sorry for any miscommunication during the course of our business

I am rejecting this response because:First, We were not asked about the brand of roofing, only the color.  Goodrich selected the brand and contracted with the manufacture for the material, not me.I contracted with Goodrich to install a 30 year roof on my house, They did not, it only lasted a couple of years. This is the first I have seen the inspection report, I was not even aware of one being accomplished.Second, When the Goodrich roofing inspector came out, he inspected the roof, took some roofing samples with him and stated that Goodrich would start the warranty process with the Manufacture.  He stated that they had used that manufacture and had a number of problems since the material was not holding up in this area.  Until today, I  did not know who they purchased the roofing material from, nor did Goodrich disclose who it was or how to contact them.  And even if I did, I have no documentation from the manufacturer stating that my roofing material was theirs (Goodrich has all of that info). If I had purchased the material then contracted Goodrich to install it, I would agree with them, But I did not.  I contracted Goodrich to provide and install a 30 year roof on my house, and paid them $7853.60 to do it.  I did not get what I paid for. It is Goodrich's responsibility to make it right.

Mr. [redacted]'s scenario seams far fetched and unlikely to Goodrich Roofing also, [redacted]'s statement that an entire wall needs to be re stuccoed seams excessive.  Mr. [redacted] and Goodrich Roofing did have a final walk through as stated in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint.  No paint on the concrete...

patio or the exterior wall was noted or found.  Mr. [redacted] stated that it appears that a can likely dropped and discharged paint and later states he found two cans of paint on the ground, yet none of this was found or pointed out during the final walk through.  Goodrich Roofing sympathizes with Mr. [redacted] for his situation however, it's over a month after the job and the final walk through and the job is done.  These issues are not the responsibility of Goodrich Roofing.  Goodrich Roofing will not remove spray paint from concrete patio or contact [redacted] to refinish wall.  Goodrich Roofing will not cover any costs associated with paint removal to concrete patio or wall.

The contract between Goodrich Roofing and Ms. [redacted] was for removal and replacement of the pitched sections of her house's roof and all of her shed's roof.  All work was completed by Goodrich Roofing and inspected by the City of Albuquerque which issued a Green Tag.  The contract was for a...

fixed cost.  Our scope of work on the contract did not include any negotiation or interaction with insurance companies.  Mr. [redacted] was given the option of a fixed cost (cash contract) or a contract for insurance funds.  She chose the cash contract.  If Ms. [redacted] had chosen an insurance funds contract, Goodrich Roofing would have worked directly with her insurance company to provide the required paperwork, which can be a lot.  We apologize to Ms. [redacted] if she misunderstood the options however, we do not provide a breakdown of labor on cash or insurance funds contracts.  Johnny S[redacted]Goodrich Roofing

Revdex.com:The contract does state Goodrich could invoice for hidden or concealed conditions.  Nothing of this nature on my home has been stated. No where in the contract is there mention of any other supplemental charges to me.  My concern is Goodrich did not give me an estimate of the cost of the replacement and I asked a number of times for the cost and what I would owe and was never given an answer.  Finally receiving three different invoices I was told after the second what to pay and the bill would be settled. I paid it, then on the third invoice Goodrich never applied any of the additional payment toward the ridge cap.  I feel Goodrich needs to be more transparent with their customers on costs. I am not satisfied with the resolution but need to move on and will bitterly send the $811.78 to Goodrich.
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:Goorich Roofing was never asked to interact with an insurance company.  Goodrich Roofing was asked by the customer to provide the customer with an itemized list of the costs for materials and labor for which the customer has paid.  This is not at all an unreasonable request.  When I pay on the order of fifteen thousand dollars for something I am entitled to have a detailed itemization of exactly what my money went for.  Goodrich Roofing must give me this list.  I realize it requires a few minutes of their time to do this but they cannot continue to lie and pretend that I have asked them to interact with any insurance company.  I never made such a request and it is dishonest for them to pretend that I did.  I want a list of what the costs were for the roofing job. If Goodrich is too lazy to spend a little bit of effort for a customer who paid such a large sum, then I will have to resort to other methods to obtain my cost details. Moreover, Goodrich Roofing has dishonest employees who claim for several weeks that they will get me this information, who keep postponing delivery thereof, oh, sorry, I'll get it next tuesday, oh whoops I've been busy, I'll have it by tomorrow (etc., etcc.) and then after several weeks of this, finally decide they are refusing to do so.  This is not an honest treatment.

Goodrich Roofing has resolved the issue with me with excellence. Please close this file. Thank you. Thanks

Goodrich Roofing and John S[redacted] apologizes to Mr. [redacted] for our service technician getting up on his roof prior to his arrival at the house. The service tech was 10 minutes early to the appointment time and was being proactive. Goodrich Roofing has repeatedly responded to calls from Mr. [redacted] for...

water infiltration into his house. We believe the leak to be caused by holes in the coping on the top of his chimney and not by the roof. Mr. [redacted] has not answered our email requests to schedule the water test. Goodrich Roofing is ready to test the roof and find the source of the leak. If the leak is found to be roof related, Goodrich Roofing is 100% willing to seal the source of the leak.

I am rejecting this response because: Its not true. The last week of June an employee from Goodrich finally came out, Saw the two by two foot depression and was amazed the sub contractors roofed over it. He took some cell phone pictures and said "... someone would be out right away..." from Goodrich to fix it. After 8 months of going back and forth with salesmen Brooke P[redacted] we weren't holding our breath. Then in the office meeting with Mr.S[redacted] ( hardly a meeting when Mr. S[redacted] wont let you speak)  S[redacted] said he'd charge me to come fix... to which I said "get real!", why would I pay them more money to come out (if they'd ever come out) to fix what they already missed and would have been paid for by the insurance company to fix originally??? I'm not insane!   Goodrich was paid in full and is contractually negligent.  In  giving us a sub par roof when we paid just under 12k for what they promised would be a quick and quality job, they missed the mark. The results are it was far from quick and not the quality they promised, brag about, or advertise.   I should add, I spoke with Carlos the Thursday before the office meeting and over the phone He agreed to send someone out Friday to fix the depression since it was an obvious oversight that both Brook P[redacted] (salesmen) had Known about since the 12th of May (when Brook said he'd send someone out right away???) and now Eddie who had been to the house the last week in June (Eddie Also said someone would be out right away). What happened to that doesn't really surprise me with the 8 month track record we've had with Goodrich...  All we wanted was the quality roof Goodrich promised, and we paid for.
