Complaint Overview

Company delivered the piece a month after purchase in the complete wrong finish. After numerous phone calls and emails only and waiting two months for them to come pick up the piece of furniture I was only reimbursed partially. They still owe me $219 and won't answer my calls or emails.

[redacted] had the delivery of their custom Cabinets and bar scheduled for the week of 3/13/17. This was during the week when the East Coast received the unprecedented ice/snow storm and all delivery trucks were grounded. The shipping had to be postponed due the inclement...

Weather. [redacted] also informed US that both her and her husband were traveling out of country and the delivery was to be Scheduled for when they would be available to take delivery. During the Week of the intended delivery, [redacted] wrote that she would like to cancel her Order. [redacted] however left us a message and emailed us asking us to please schedule the delivery. Their order of three custom cabinets and bar table were delivered to their home on April 12th and the delivery was accepted. Delivery was made by [redacted] Although the delay in delivery was not Our fault, Modern Rust covered the delivery fee, in addition to their walk up fee in full as a Courtesy and for any inconvenience caused.Best regards, Modern Rust

of days while our shops was closed for relocation. The [redacted]s dining set was picked up by our local carrier along with several other tables prior to us leaving town. We had not checked email or voicemail for a few days and once we did, come to find that the shipper had misplaced their phone number and had not yet made the delivery yet. During which time, the [redacted]s had left us messages and had also written you. We immediately wrote the [redacted]s to let them know what had happened and immediately resend the carrier their phone number, they connected right away and the set was delivered the very next day. Liars and scammers! DO NOT TRUST THEM! We paid in full for a table and bench 11 months ago that we never received. After multiple excuses and LIES they have stopped returning our calls, They even blocked us so our complaints can't be seen on facebook. THEY ARE THIEVES!

They sent me a table in the wrong color that is now coming apart. They promised me a partial refund and sent me fraudulent papers showing me that they sent the refund through Paypal which they never did. They will be in your face as soon as you make an inquiry until the day you order. Then you will never be able to get in touch with them ever again.

I would never purchase from this company again.  Like others, I ordered 2 tables in September. They were promised for 1st of November.  They were received damaged on December 12th after many phone calls and promises.  Since they were needed for an event, I did not return them, but was very dissatisfied with the product.  The wood appears to be new not reclaimed, the finish has drip marks, and tables were not level.  The hardware had to be replaced since it was not sufficient to hold up the table leaves. We had to repair the corner of the table that fell out when the packing material was removed.  After many calls and emails, I was finally contacted and told that they would refund the expense incurred to make the tables usable.  I invoiced them 3 times and no payment has been made.  It has now been a year since the process began.  The tables are currently being used but are not the quality one would expect.  The warped tops remind me each time I walk by...never again!

Review: I ordered a product from Modern Rust in March, 2014, after the committed 4-6 weeks weeks, I never received the ordered product or any updates. I constantly had to call and email for a status update. It's been five months, I've not received the product in spite of emails and phone calls that I would be receiving it. Finally, after one of the orders informed me that they don't have a carrier to ship my product to me in Miami, I requested a refund and was guaranteed both verbally and in writing that I would receive the refund and have not yet received it...it's been almost four weeks. At late, when I email the company about the status of the refund, I am now receiving "Out of Office" automated responses.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my full refund of $304 before I move with litigation.

Review: We purchased a custome table from Modern Rust (delivered Oct 2013). We recently noticed in March 2014 that the table was falling apart- table top was coming apart and the bases are crooked (very noticably). We contacted Modern rust on March 17th about getting our table repaired (Modern Rust states they have a lifetime guarantee on their furniture). They statted they'd come pick up our table top and have it repaired. Upon removal of the table top we noticed that our bases were also of poor quality. We asked that they be repaired as well. It took them 2 weeks just to pick up pur table top. We were told last week (week of April 7th) that our table was to be returned (a complete new set) the weekend of 11 Apr and that the shipper would contact us. No one contacted us. We've tried several times throughout the last few weeks to contract Modern Rust about the status of our furniture and never receivev return phone calls or emails. Now this week, week of 14 April their phone goes straight to voicemail and the main modern rust phone message states their moves to a new warehouse and won't return calls until 21 April. This is ridiculous. All we've asked for is a RETURN phone call about the status of our table set. We even went past their warehouse and its evident no one was there. We also stopped by the main business address ([redacted], VA). Both vehicles were in the driveway yet no one would answer the door. We feel something is awry with this situation and we either want our $1200 back or a PROPER table returned to us ASAP. I had even taken [redacted] to visit the awrehouse where I work to get him FREE pallets to use in his furniture production. These pallets are valued at least $30 each and he filled hi truck wup with them for FREE. the least we deserve is a phone call back and a complete QUALITY table set back.Desired Settlement: We want either our replacement within the next 2 weeks or a full refund in the amount of $1200 ASAP.

Review: I purchased a wood table and bench set from Modern Rust over the phone after seeing it online at [redacted].com, in November, 2013. They charged my mastercard immediately It was delivered in Spring 2014 (3 months later than promised) and was damaged and the wrong color. They agreed to send us the correct furniture and I received it in Summer 2014. It was damaged beyond repair when we received it. Both the table top and one bench are warped and non usable. First I asked them to replace only the bench and we would try to have the table fixed. After having a carpenter look at the tabletop and explain that the warped wood is not usable, I asked for a full refund on this purchase so that I might purchase a usable table set. I have called and emailed several times and they have not given any refund or replaced the damaged pieces. This has been going on for one year now and I'm wanting resolution and believe they should be held accountable.Desired Settlement: I now want a full refund to my credit card so that I am free to go elsewhere and purchase a dining set that is not defective.
