Review: Modesto Subaru used my personal information without authorization to shop for auto finance loans in my name, adversely effecting my credit rating.Desired Settlement: Remove the inquiries from my credit reports. Apologize for improperly using my personal information and create a company policy preventing loan shopping without authorization.

On May 7, 2016 Mr. [redacted] engaged Modesto Subaru to purchase a New 2016 Subaru Outback. Mr. [redacted] fully executed a Credit Statement and all related purchase paperwork to Finance, Register and complete the transaction as required by Capital One Auto Finance and the California Department of Motor Vehicles, taking delivery of his New 2016 Subaru Outback on May 7th. Response:

I arrived at the dealership with a check from my selected lender - [redacted]. The salesperson ([redacted]) asked if I would be interested in a loan brokered by Modesto Subaru if it was at a lower rate than [redacted]. I told her I would not be interested. Twenty minutes later - [redacted] presented me with a written offer from [redacted]. “I know you said you weren’t interested” she said, “but I thought you might like this offer at 1.9%). I subsequently accepted that offer.

Review: Purchased used Subaru sedan from Modesto Subaru.

Vehicle had worn out tires, according to California law cars in this condition cannot be sold by a dealership. I originally purchased from a dealer knowing that it had to be inspected deeper than a private party. I bought four new tires for safety reasons.

Had a stereo which when played in CD mode caused the defroster to stop working for several minutes. And the CD changer would not accept more than one CD.

Had only one set of keys. Sales said they could not find second set. Months later said they "found" them. The keys they sent would not start the car since they were not programmed. Only the remote they sent worked. But I had already had to purchase a second remote and key. Now I have the extra burden of programming two more keys.

Dealership charged me for the California required smog inspection but did not perform this inspection. When they realized this "error" they agreed to pay me for getting this service performed since I live over two hours away from this dealershiip.Desired Settlement: Modeato Subaru should have sent me a check to cover my out of pocket expenses for the tires, at least.

If they had any conscience they would reimburse my out of pocket expenses for replacing the radio.

And now they should also send me money to cover the costs of programming the two keys they sent.

I am out of pocket over $700 for these items.

Response:

Business states that they have been in contact directly with the customer. Although the business was not given a fair opportunity to rectify the issues, the business has went ahead and reimbursed this customer for the costs incurred.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is unsatisfactory to me.

The business sent a check for most of the costs of the tire replacement. They did not send money to reimburse me for the cost of mounting the tires. The business sent the remote door lock control that they said, 3 months ago, was missing. They also sent 2 keys. The keys cost me out of pocket since they were not programmed. The business said they would reimburse this cost, sixty dollars, but have not done so. It has been two weeks since I sent them the receipt for this out of pocket expense. The business continues to make promises and then not follow through.I continue to wait.I am still out of pocket for replacing the radio / defrost controls, which the dealer would have found defective had they performed a cursory inspection of the vehicle. This too indicates the poor quality of their work.
