Mohney's Towing Inc.

Review: I was in a car accident on 3-4-15 in [redacted], PA. My car was inoperable so the state police were called. When the state trooper got there he immediately called for a tow truck. I was unaware who he was calling or that he was even calling someone. I am a member of [redacted], however as I was in shock from the accident I did not tell this to the trooper. Mohney's Towing brought a truck to the accident. He pulled my car out of the ditch and deemed it to be safe to drive. Then he changed his mind and said it was not and that he would have to tow it. I told him that I wanted him to tow it to [redacted]. This was approximately 6 miles away. He told me that he would take it there and I let him know that my mother would bring me out as soon as I was done talking with the state trooper. Whenever I was done with the trooper and my mother was taking me out to [redacted] we saw the tow truck driving away. When we got to [redacted] the repairman said that he had to pay the towing bill of $380.60 because the driver would not take it off the bed of the truck without a check and was not willing to wait for me, even though I had told him I would be there as soon as I was done. He had a receipt for the towing which he gave to me. I left the shop and called Mohney's to let them know that I am a [redacted] member and was hoping to give them my information so that they could bill them for the service since Brian had given them a check which they hadn't cashed yet. When I called they told me that it was too late and I would have to call [redacted] to file for reimbursement. So I called [redacted] and got the reimbursement form which I filled out and faxed to them. I got a letter on 3-21-15 denying my reimbursement because my receipt from Mohney's Towing did not have my name on it. On Monday, 3-23-15, I called Mohney's Towing and was transferred to the manager. I explained the situation and let them know that I just needed the receipt with my name on it. He said he would get back to me. I called again on Tuesday, 3-24-25, and was asked for [redacted]'s information which I gave to the manager. He didn't tell me what he needed it for, just that he would need to call [redacted]. I did not hear anything back from Mohney's Towing by Friday, 3-27-15, so I called back. I identified myself and asked for the manager/supervisor. The man who answered the phone was the manager that I had talked to previously, however he did not identify himself. He just said, "I don't have your receipt yet." I asked what was taking so long because all I needed was the receipt with my name on it. He told me that he did not have a copy of my receipt which was why he needed the information from [redacted]. I told him that I had a copy of the receipt that I could fax to him. He sounded irritated and asked why I didn't give him a copy the receipt when I first called. I told him that since it was his company's service I would think that they would have a copy of the receipt but I could fax it to him if he needed it. He told me he "wasn't even going to argue with me because it wasn't worth it." I said should I just do it myself since it was such a big deal for him to do. He said I could "write my [redacted] name myself." I said again you performed a service, I want my receipt and information and also said that I should not have been charged $380.60 since I was only towed 6 miles. He told me " [redacted]" and hung up.Desired Settlement: I feel that I should receive a refund of at least part of my bill. I've contacted other towing companies and they have all said that my bill was way too high for the service I was provided. I feel I was not treated fairly at all, every time I called. I have never been treated so badly by a company. The way that the entire thing was handled felt off to me and I feel that I deserve a written apology from the company along with a refund for a portion of my bill.
