Questionable Business PracticesAfter contacting Mold Stoppers I spoke with a representative who worked me up a quote for Mold Remediation for my property. After some conversation the quote was adjusted to a lower amount. I was told this was the lowest price and the best they could do due to numerous Mold Test that were required to complete the job. After several weeks I was contacted by another agent who was the owner of the company. He said he was taking over the job and he would be in charge of this work order. After several delays on the business owners end the job finally started about 2-3 weeks later. I received a few emails/texts/calls throughout the process. I eventually received a message saying the job was complete. I had many questions so I attempted to contact the agent. I called, emailed, texted and got no response. After leaving many messages I contacted the Office of Moldstoppers and left a message with the secretary. I was told he was out of the country on another job and he would be back Monday. I even tried to get answers to my questions from the office but was referred to the Agent. I attempted to contact the Agent the following ways for approximately 2 months before I finally go through to him at his office. During this time I was receiving bills saying I had a past due balance. He apologized for the lack of communication and said he would call me back by the end of the day. I received a voicemail later that day saying he needed to get a hold of the contractor in charge of the job and would get back to me. I explained to the agent that due to his lack of communication it has kept me form listing my home on the Market. This has caused me a financial loss. He did not seem concerned. I requested copy's of the Mold Test and was told that was not part of the quote and could not provide. I asked how come I was told it would be done and it wasn't. Additionally how can you treat Mold if you don't do a test to find out the type of mold. Also how do you know the mold is gone if you didn't test the property at the end. No response. I then received a call from the gentleman who originally quoted me the job. It felt as if the agent didn't want to deal with me and had him call. He explained that the were doing air test at the property and would release them when I paid the final balance. I was also told there would be no help in the financial loss caused by the poor communication. I had listed my property two weeks before because I had to do something to re-coop my loses and could not wait any longer to put the property on the market. I was told while doing the air test they spoke with the realtor. I was told since my home was consecutively listed I would not receive any financial compensation. I had the property listed for two weeks only not several months. It was after the several months that I had no communication form MoldStoppers I then put the home on the Market because I had no Other Option. I have since paid the remaining balance to keep from having a lien on the property and have not received any communication from Moldstoppers or any copy's of air test results or Warranty Information. Very dissatisfied and this has been the worst experience ever.Desired SettlementBilling Adjustment for the Two months I attempted to get answers but was ignored. I was unable to put home on market during those two months.Business Response [redacted]Document Attached[redacted]Subject: Revdex.com Case XXXXXXXXIn regards to the delayed response on this open case we thought this was handled last year. We apologize for the delayed response. From our records we show we did receive the deposit check and signed contract and the check cleared the bank on 2/23/2015. Our records indicate that the work was performed on the week of 3/16 thru the week of 3/23. These dates were taken from our payroll department on when our employees were paid for this work.I have attached a copy of the proposal #XXXXXRAL001( as noted in the body of the notes section this proposal was was revised 3 times. We do not show any where on the quote proposal to perform testing. That is why there was no testing completed in this project. The attic, interior, crawlspace and duct system was cleaned and so that the house would be visually clean and pass home inspection.I have attached a copy of the warranty and have had the warranty department send out another copy to the homeowner.(Attached is a copy of the warranty)[redacted] East [redacted] Street[redacted] MD XXXXXAs stated in the complaint there was a problem reaching me on my cell phone during that time period as I was out of the country working on a commercial project.Once I was back in the US I contacted Mr. [redacted] and apologized for the lack of communication. At this time we hope that he has been successful in marketing his house. Please let me know if you need any additional information.Sincerely,[redacted]Consumer Response As for the response to my claim. The communication and coordination of my mold remediation was horrific. When providing a quote all information should be discussed and accurate. I was told there was a cost of Mold testing which was the reason for the inflated cost. No mold test were ever completed. How can you treat mold of you don't know what you are treating. When I though the job was going to be completed by the representative who I called and was given the quote I later found out that the job had been transferred to a different contractor. Tis was never communicated by the initial representative I later found out when I received a phone call from the new contractor. As a customer I would expect updates on the project, timelines, dates of completion, etc... What I received was poor to no communication. I repeatedly tried to contact the contractor/owner and found out from the secretary he was out of the country working on another job. The person in charge of my job was not working on my job, but a new job in another country. To top it off I was never communicated this. I had to find out by calling myself. The secretary had no updates on the Job. So I was left with no answers only questions. I continued to attempt contact for 2 months leaving messages, texts, voicemails. No response. Finally upon an attempt too reach the contractor at hiss office he answered the phone. He apologized for his lack of communication and promised he would get with the workers on the job and give me an update. I requested a mold test and the owner said he would do an air test and provide the results when the balance was paid in full. The balance is paid in full and I never received the results of a copy of the warranty. After I paid the remaining balance I never heard anything more from the company or it's representatives. House eventually sold but was delayed due to final results and communication from contractor/owner. As for the response to my claim. I may have high expectations for business transactions but I can guarantee this wasn't a good business transaction. Never have I had such poor communication or a project manager leave in the middle of a job to go work on another job. Poor business practices. The response to this claim over a year later should tell you a little about the communication from this company as well. Still at a loss due to the delayed sale of my house. No resolution. Don't use this company...
