Horrible,...

Very unprofessional. First they severely underestimated the contents of my home. They sent a team of unprofessional extremely unorganized men. There attire and personal appeal was disgusting to say the least, some smelt like alcohol, dirty ripped clothes, and constantly smoking. they all stood around while one guy did all the work. The contents didn't fit on the Truck and had to send a second truck, which they charged. I have explained the situation to the Customer service and the manager several times, and they did nothing. They charged me at full price when really only one guy and I did most of the move. Really hated the service. Had to give them the payment in cash or certified check so they can release my personal belongings. Tomorrow is another day.

Review: Service Issue l(failure to honor service estimate and agreement) Leading into Billing/Collection Issue:

I entered into agreement with 'The Advance Group' (seemingly a 'doing business as' name for The Molloy Brothers) to move and assemble office furniture for a one room office. I had gone back and forth with representatives of this company providing as many details regarding what was being moved and the required times for the move in hopes of obtaining an agreement that would be reasonable to both parties. After the move was completed, The Advance Group/Molloy Brothers forwarded an invoice more than doubling the estimate as well as indicating cost of items that were not even provided/use. I filed a complaint with the New York State Department of Transportation regarding this issue. From this I negotiated a fair settlement between The Advance Group/Molloy Brothers in an amount which they accepted and for which they accepted payment and cashed my check.

After tracking that my payment had been cashed I emailed [redacted] of The Advance Group/Molloy Brothers for them to issue revised invoice indicating agreed balance adjustment, receipt of payment and for a $0 balance to be indicated for all parties records. After three attempts via email to obtain this, they have not responded to any of my emails nor provided the invoice.

I can provide pdf copy of my complaint to the NYS Department of Transportation of the original dispute.

I can also provide pdf copy of email exchanges confirming acceptance of the adjusted balance as well as proof of their cashing of the payment check.

I am available by phone or email for any questions and/or follow-up.

Thank you in advance.Desired Settlement: I want the closeout invoice issued indicating the agreed upon balance (as agreed via email exchanges with [redacted] of Molloy Brothers/The Advance Group and myself).

Closeout invoice needs to indicate agreed balance and receipt of payment with a $0 remaining balance.

Response:

Dear [redacted]:Please advise the customer that we will reimburse them the $388.00 that they are looking for. I will send out a General Release in that amount. Once I receive their release back we will then issue a check in that amount.Sincerely,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the final response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved:1. upon receipt of requested close-out invoice from Molloy Brothers/The Advance Group.2. Close-out invoice to indicate agreed balance adjustment to $388.00,3. and indicate receipt of my payment with zero open balance on the close-out invoice.

Sincerely,

Response:

Dear [redacted]:Our invoices show payments and credits on one line. We cannot change the accounting system. [redacted], our controller sent [redacted] a final notice showing a zero balance due. We did as we were asked.[redacted],?

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The invoice continues to indicate items they they did not even use on the move (i.e. commercial bins, duct tape and plasma TV box.) I have correspondence with this company confirming this,The invoice (attached) does not indicate the adjusted agreed balance. The invoice does not indicate my check payment of $388.00 (the adjusted and agreed upon balance.)The invoice has a hand scribble referencing 'zero balance' with the same inflated Subtotal. Anyone can scribble on a piece of paper and is not acceptable record if further disputes arise.I am having difficulty understand any difficulty relative to any accounting/invoicing software to correct the above items unless they are unwilling. If this is the case, my complaint should remain opened and this ordeal continues to be representative of my negative experiences with this company.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I used Molloy Brothers for a move from NY to CA. I was assured that our belongings were going to be put into 2 sealed containers and then delivered to us in our new location. This type of "container" move was at a higher rate than a "conventional" move. When our things were delivered in CA, we noted that we are missing at least 5 boxes of belongings containing clothes, kitchen items, and personal affects. I was assured the boxes were being traced when I followed up on my claim last week. Without any further communication I received a settlement check in the amount of $300 in the mail along with a very nondescript letter that does not itemize or at all explain where they came up with this figure. Our belongings were worth much more than that in monetary value. In addition, I do not feel assured that a) our belongings were ever put into containers. We never saw the containers. And if they were to be sealed up like we were told, there would be no reason for at least 5 boxes to go missing. b) I do not feel assured that a sufficient attempt was made to find our missing boxes. I had to follow up with the company to find out what was happening. When I was assured they would contact someone on my behalf, all I received was this very sparsely written cover letter with a settlement check.Desired Settlement: I would like to know what has been done to trace our items. 5 boxes do not just disappear into thin air. I would like to have our items delivered to us.

Response:

This claim was sent to [redacted] Transit in [redacted]. All Molloy Bros. did was to pack and load the containers.[redacted] assigned a feight company to ship the containers from our warehouse to the destination agent's warehouse. The containers were delivered to the destination agent damaged. The destination agent delivered the shipment loose in a truck instead of in the containers. It is my understanding that [redacted] settled her claim. As far as the amount she received in reviewing the claim form she did not put a dollar amount of what the items were valued at so [redacted] gave her what they thought was appropriate. We are still trying to locate her boxes but so far have not been successful. We have requested that the destination agent do a thorough trace in their warehouse but so far have not found anyting.Sincerely,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I also spoke with [redacted] who assured me that the trace for our things has not been closed and that they are working on it. I therefore would like this matter with the Revdex.com considered closed.

Sincerely,

My husband and I recently moved from New York to Nashville. It was our third long haul move in three years. We've used different movers each time and have not had an experience before Molloy Brothers that warranted a negative review.
It needs to be noted that the men who came to the apartment in both locations were friendly, careful, efficient -- everything you want in movers. Both sets took great care with a 250-year old dresser. Arrived without a scratch.
The problem is with the office and scheduling staff. They are unhelpful, unresponsive and intentionally deceptive.
We opted for the crate option versus the truck move because there was less of a delivery range. We were on a schedule due to changing jobs. They chose the delivery date; it worked for us so we agreed.
The representative who came to the apartment and the account representative preached that if the cargo arrived after the contractual delivery date they would refund $100 per day.
My credit card was charged the full amount five days after pick up -- a week before the delivery-- as part of the agreement.
The day before the delivery date the account representative, [redacted], was unable to tell us the whereabouts of the crates. It was not in Tennessee; they didn't know when it would be delivered or if they would be able to make the delivery date.
On the day, it was hour by hour, but they still didn't know where it was or when it would be delivered.
In short, it was two days late and the office was rude and evasive. One even began rattling incoherently about Superstorm Sandy in 2012 to evade my questions about the location of my stuff.
The discount was not received because they said the week following the late delivery that there was a weight minimum and we didn't meet that weight. There was no mention of weight minimum in the run up to the move. I had to chase [redacted], possibly the [redacted], for two days to even get her on the phone. She did not follow through on calls or emails as promised.
[redacted] said they would refund the $200 "as a gesture of goodwill." It did not happen and I never heard from her again.
I cut my losses and will be reviewing on the Revdex.com as well.
The physical movers are great. The office and schedulers are evasive and deceptive.
