Fraudulent Billing Practices
I paid all the $60 copays. If there was any additional costs my insurance did not cover, I asked for transparency at the appointment and paid the additional costs. During my last appointment, they said I had a $0 balance then a couple months later I received a balance of $300 from Momdoc. I inquired about the charge and they told me it was my insurance not covering the cost (even though they had made it clear I had $0 balance at the appointment and the co-pay was all that was needed. I had had couple prior appointments at Momdoc and not once did they ever tell me there was an issue with my insurance not covering (never had an issue anywhere else). However, I did notice when I stopped making appointments was when they sent me a balance and they keep tacking on late fees. Please don't ever go here.

This exact situation happened to me. I will not PAY them. They are scammers. And I will never go back. Please don't pay them nada. After I paid my co-pays and was told my insurance would cover the cost, they sent me a bill with a balance of over 300 dollars. When I called, some costs did not go through to my insurance which is not what they initially claimed. I hope someone sues them and ALL Momdocs shut down.

While the PAs and doctor's themselves handle themselves completely fine, I can't say they handle their billing practices the same way In short they are scam artists I went for my yearly check up, and about a month later a bill showing appointments with the same date of service as well as a balance of my copay arrived at my house I called the billing department and was told that since I had gotten a prescription during my appointment they had to bill me for a separate appointment since that is out of the scope of a preventative appointment I questioned how this had never been the case in the last years of me being on birth control and doing wellness checks She said that was the way my insurance made them bill it I told them they could happily send my bill to collections for the copay as I was not going to pay a copay to scam artists and I would be reporting them to my insurance company for fraud She quickly reversed the bill for my copayAfter getting off the phone with her I called my insurance company to report them and the lady I spoke with said she had never heard of being bill for two appointments especially since contraceptives are considered a preventative item In the end I didn't have to pay my copay, but I would never step foot in any of MomDoc's establishmentI can't even imagine how much this company has made off insurance companies with this scam

THE WORSTFirst, they scheduled my daughter for a Saturday appt Their recommendation, not mineWe were simply trying to make a Friday appt and due to lack of appt times, she said, how about tomorrow (SATURDAY) I said, "Oh, you are open tomorrow" she said they were and scheduled my daughter for SaturdayShe never mentioned the $extra charge for Saturday visitsThen they double charged us for the appt time, since this was a Wellness checkup and they found a rash, and decided to test for HSV Now we received additional charges for a 2nd appt outside the wellness checkup plus the the lab feesVery deceptive practicesSTAY AWAY...!!! Blood suckers...!!! Finally, after having to swallow my pride, I called their billing office to make the payment Because I am not my daughter, they would not take my paymentI understand the HIPPA act, but I am looking directly at the bill and my daughter is a college student She cannot pay it, so I have too They would NOT take my payment I told her, I have the amount in front of me and just want to pay the damn billShe said NOI lost my temper with that office and I am DONE with themThey are absolutely the WORSTI have NEVER experienced such bad practices in my life with any doctor's office and I come from a family of doctorsSTAY AWAY THEY ARE THE WORST

billed to insurance were adjudicated by the plan and deemed appropriate for the services rendered.  After the insurance processed and paid the claim, there was no balance due from the patient and she was never sent a bill or asked to pay $50.

I went for my yearly check up, and about a month later a bill showing 2 appointments with the same date of service as well as a balance of my copay arrived at my house. I called the billing department and was told that since I had gotten a prescription during my appointment they had to bill me for a separate appointment since that is out of the scope of a preventative appointment. I questioned how this had never been the case in the last 10 years of me being on birth control and doing wellness checks. She said that was the way my insurance made them bill it. I told them they could happily send my bill to collections for the copay as I was not going to pay a copay to scam artists and I would be reporting them to my insurance company for fraud. She quickly reversed the bill for my copay. After getting off the phone with her I called my insurance company to report them and the lady I spoke with said she had never heard of being bill for two appointments especially since contraceptives are considered a preventative item. In the end I didn't have to pay my copay, but I would never step foot in any of MomDoc's establishment. I can't even imagine how much this company has made off insurance companies with this scam.

To whom it may concern:

font-family: arial, sans-serif;">The patient first made her complaint to our office in 2014 and we had agreed at that time to adjust her balance as a courtesy after investigating thoroughly the patient’s issues.  The only issue that remained was that the balance was never actually adjusted in our system and we did not hear back from the patient at any time after the initial determination.

The balance has been adjusted and there is no balance owed on the patient’s account.  A letter has been sent to the patient along with a copy of her account statement that shows there is no balance due from her at this time.

At no time did this organization attempt to “scam” the patient.  It was an oversight that went uncorrected after we did not hear from the patient until this complaint was filed.  It is our policy to resolve all patient complaints immediately and with full satisfaction of all parties.  I believe that the resolution put forth today accomplishes that and it is my sincere hope that the patient feels that way as well.

For the purposes of patient medical privacy, I cannot address the details of the patient complaint here.

Thank you,
