There is obviously a disagreement on our position was for this wedding we were the CaterersWe do not own the venue, we do not operate the venue and the venue where you were having your wedding was still available from my knowledgeShe was willing to empty out the hall so that you can go ahead and proceed with your weddingI'm not sure why you failed to show up the day that she set up to meet with you so that you can look at the venue againAlso I never took a deposit for the venueI took a down payment towards your food and that food cost comes to hours of chefs time which is $an hour the server who was there the day we did the tasting and $of food costs therefore that leaves no amount of refund and I'd be more than happy to share those voices with anybody who would like to see them

I am rejecting this response because:I did not say I was canceling the event in JanuaryI said I needed to work with a smaller budgetIf the company could not accommodate my request I explained I may have to cancelI was told by Maria she could adjust the budget lower with a smaller guest listShe emailed me a new invoice and never once mentioned the property was going to occupied by the landlord.I also stated I would have the ceremony somewhere else to help lower the cost of the reception. After agreeing on the lower budget my next communication with Maria was that I had to obtain a noise permit from the city of CorralesThis hadn't been mentioned beforeAt this time I was told the landlord was living in the venue space we had booked The company was unable to obtain the necessary licenses and permits to run their businessMaria said I should look at the space to see if would work for us because of all the furniture in the venue we booked.I had agreed to go look and had asked the landlord for picturesAfter seeing the massive amounts of furniture and other items I understood that there was not any possible way to have a wedding reception thereWe saw this approximately weeks before our wedding. At this point my fiance and I spoke to Maria about getting our deposit back minus the $ for the tasting serviceThis would be a refund of $350.00.Maria insisted we could find another locationShe stated the cost would be lower than what we neededI agreed to look at another locationIt did not meet our needs and seemed a last minute scramble that I was not comfortable with.We again thanked her for trying to find another location and asked for our deposit back because she could not provide the agreed upon service. We are more than happy to pay for tasting they provided on the agreed upon price for That service was provided to us. However the remainder of the $should be refundedWe are sorry that the company was and is going through financial and permit issues, but we had nothing to do with the fact that they weren't able to get their business up and running. We would like to settle with $deposit back for services never receivedThe company was not able to provide us with our original location
I have attached images of the venue where we were supposed to have our wedding receptionAs you will be able to see no bride should be put in a stressful situation such as that
Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:My only hope at this point is that no other clients of this company will ever have to endure the unprofessional business ethics and their complete lack of disregard in holding themselves accountable for their actions. The bottom line is that we gave this company a $500 deposit to book a venue that was unavailable for our event in Corrales. We did not cancel our agreement from our end, Mon Amis failed to provide us the service we paid for. After reading reviews on wedding wire and perfect wedding guide, I am so relieved she failed to meet her end of the deal. Many other clients have reviewed the same horrible experience we had and their events were ruined by this company

In august we took on office space in
Corrales at [redacted] the building is meeting and office suite rental
locationThe current owner advised me that she would like for me to show her
building while she worked on a site plan deployment so she could turn the
building back into an event centerI begin to do so we had events booked two
of which were weddingsThe wedding In October had to be moved for two reasons
we had the septic tank failed witch left the building unusable for several day
the other reason was I was in the hospital at the time
In December when we presented our plan to the village of Corrales
Barbara [redacted] advised us she would need to move into the property in order not
to lose itThis move would occur after we had fulfilled the status of the current
eventsThe final event was to be on 4/23/for [redacted]
I received a call from [redacted] in the last days of January
telling me they were going to be canceling their wedding at the timeI was
driving and I advised her the worse case scenario would be she would lose her
down payment I needed to calculate out hours and food cost, plus deduct what was paid to
the rental companyI also advised her I would have Mario contact her back if
there was a refund comingShe then advised me they were planning on having
there event at the botanical gardensWith was going to save them money
In mid march I received a call from [redacted] stating that her family
had pulled together for her weddingThis is when she advised me their dinner
reception would be the only thing she would want to have at the buildingI
asked if she would like to have dinner in the back court yard instead, because the
owner of the building was given the go ahead to move into the building and had already
started the processWe spoke again later that week and she stated she prefer to
have it in the grand hall of the buildingBarbara and I had planned to have
the building emptied for their event I then started getting more calls form
the bride offering to have family remove the furniture for herWhen I spoke
with her fiancé I had advised him not to be making suggestions like that, this
was the owners reasonability to get the furniture removed I would see to it
that it got done
They had spoken the Barbara [redacted] and made arrangements with
her to see the building again the Saturday before EasterI could not be there
because the busy holiday weekI received a call from Barbara about the couple
not showing up for the appointment but also the verbally valiant nature of her conversation
she had with the fiancéI then received a email from steal implying that she
was un willing to move or unable to work with them on the furnitureI advised
him I was going to speak to legal council in regards to this and if this was
the case I was going see if I could legally have her refund the down payment
This enraged me and I reach out to Barbara [redacted] with some
very impolite commentsOnly to find they never even met with herThey verbally
demanded her to cancel their contract she, then referred them back to meI
spoke with the attorney at Davis Miles Law firmHis advice to me was I had a
great deal of work involved from the Chefs hours prep and tasting date to the
servers hours of the tasting On top of
the food cost in general also the 10% left down to the rental companyPlus I
was advised that Barbara did nothing wrong she was given the go ahead because the
bride had called to cancel her wedding since January
After that phone call we should have stopped all communication
with this client instead we continued to work on a resolution to have it at the
original locationBarbara [redacted] stated she would have emptied that room to fulfill
this commitmentAfter that phone call that option was no longer on the table
advised by both her attorney and mine
I then reach out to some of my vendors to find her a
location and we did we even offered to pay for the locationWe met up and
walked the grounds and I advised her to get with her fiancé and get his ok so I
could pay the owner of the InnWith hours I got a message from Ailsa that
they were looking at another location and she would let me know so I stopped
what I was doing the rental company had not got back with me with an estimate
on the heaters or the dance floorHowever her invoice had dropped pretty close
to dollars by changing the location
Yesterday I received an email from her fiancé that they
still wanted to part waysI advised him they lost the down paymentWe are les
the days till there event and that is clearly stated in our term and
conditionsI provided then my attorneys name and number so they contact them
directly, but our communication would now stop
