Dear [redacted] , I am sticking to what his insurance company provides all office withIt give you detail to what the patient is allowed and not allowedIn some cases both are covered if under the age of twenty one and some of those plans will not pick up the fitting of contact lensesA routine eye exam covers the health of the eye as well as a prescription for eyeglassesThe fitting for contacts takes into consideration that Rx along with the corneal readings to determine Rx base curvature and diameter needed for each individual eye and person So with that said his prescription was given to him and the Doctor paid by his insurance for the exam for eye glasses only because he didn't follow up with the Doctor for the contact lens fittingHe still has all his benefits for the glasses and or contacts ( if he gets a contact lens fitting) still available to him I thank you for this opportunity to reply to thisUnfortunately ours hands as providers are tied by the insurance companies and there is nothing I can do about how these, sometimes ridiculous, rules we must follow Hopefully he will find a Doctor who will break the rules to give him all he wants at really no benefit to their practice Thank you again.Joseph EK [redacted] ABOC [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowHello I've included two pictures of the correct information from my insurance company I've been told that I get two visits per year and a $credit towards any overages The information that this business has is outdated and incorrect but nevertheless that does not change the fact that I did not get a service completed at this business! They've taken my insurance information and giving me nothing more than a trial pair of sub standard contacts:( when I asked for them to complete their job and give me a pair of glasses the manager lady made it seem like it would be too big of a process for them to even do that so no services have been completed and I'd like for them to do the right thing and give me back my visit so I can go to another eye exam place and have them complete the service for me I've never got to use the hundred dollar credit that my insurance gives me and I've never got to receive a pair of glasses or a pair of contacts from this place so they do not deserve any funds from my insurance! Regards, [redacted]

Dear [redacted],     I am sticking to what his insurance company provides all office with. It give you detail to what the patient is allowed and not allowed. In some cases both are covered if under the age of twenty one and some of those plans will not pick up the fitting of contact lenses. A routine eye exam covers the health of the eye as well as a prescription for eyeglasses. The fitting for contacts takes into consideration that Rx along with the corneal readings to determine Rx base curvature and diameter needed for each individual eye and person.      So with that said his prescription was given to him and the Doctor paid by his insurance for the exam for eye glasses only because he didn't follow up with the Doctor for the contact lens fitting. He still has all his benefits for the glasses and or contacts ( if he gets a contact lens fitting) still available to him.     I thank you for this opportunity to reply to this. Unfortunately ours hands as providers are tied by the insurance companies and there is nothing I can do about how these, sometimes ridiculous, rules we must follow.  Hopefully he will find a Doctor who will break the rules to give him all he wants at really no benefit to their practice.     Thank you again.Joseph E. [redacted],     I have attached a copy of his and another patients coverage. You can see his insurance does not cover all that he would like it to. Unfortunately as much as I'd like to...

give him what he wants, his insurance dictates what is and isn't covered. So he would have to pay for contact lens fitting and glasses or contacts. The other would be paid by patient under terms of his insurance. As far as cheap lens type. Alcon is one of the top manufacturers of contacts in the industry and millions are sold each year. He was examined by independent Doctor of Optometry who choose the best contacts for this patients needs. We as opticians only fill prescriptions ordered by the Doctors.     We have been in business for three decades and if we treated everyone as he said we did, we would not have been here this long. Joseph E. Review: The owner claimed to know my insurance more than me or the insurance company...the first visit after being told they accepted my insurance and there would be no extra charge and after I personally doublechecked with the secretary lady I go back to have an eye exam asked for my brand of contacts got given a horribly uncomfortable pair of off brand contacts and after coming back out the owner says he needs $100 to put lenses in my old frames and my insurance does not cover what I was already told.I then turned to the secretary lady Who acted like an owner herself as well said oh miscommunication like no big deal. Then after being told that visit my insurance would cover 2 boxes of contacts I leave to talk with my wife she makes a follow up apt which they made me make I show up to them saying that they were surprised to see me because my wife never confirmed my apt but for $50 he could squeeze me in and I got told that my insurance covered nothing but glasses and after asking for them to at least make the glasses the secretary lady told me wait a minute hold on with your insurance will have to order them and it's going to be an issue… The owner then said he would like to wash his hands of this experience and for me to just leave before he got angry… Handed me a prescription for spectacle lenses when my appointment was for contact lenses from the first call...I've been taken by this owner with his claims to know my insurance when after calling myself I come to find he is totally incorrect!Desired Settlement: For this business to be put on notice of unacceptable business practices and that it's not ok for the owner to try to collect $100 on the first visit and $50 on the second visit after knowingly informing me with false information about my insurance I'd like whatever consequences that could happen to this business please do happen! Thank you!!
