Mona Lisa Painting Reviews (3)

Sent: Monday, September 12, 2016 11:42 AM     We have spent a significant amount of time doing due diligence on this particular claim for Ms [redacted]. The first post-move contact I had with Ms. [redacted] was a few days after the move, she informed me of a missing...

framed picture. Eventually the artwork was found, but there was no mention of any faulty washer gate valve concerns or the potential for flooding.  Two weeks after the move, I received a call indicating a flood had occurred coupled with numerous invoices from vendors who had been contracted to fix the damages for $5,000+. We did not approve these contracts, breaching our right to repair, replace, and lastly reimburse. After hearing all sides of the story, all agree to the following: -the washer gate valve was previously damaged -attempting to turn off the washer gate valve would compound its deteriorated condition  -the best way to move the washer would be to cut off the main water line -Ms. [redacted] approved the water to be shut back on A discrepancy lies with whoever is responsible for turning the main water off. Our crew said that Ms. [redacted] suggested they locate the main water line with her expressed intention of shutting it off. The crew located it for Ms. [redacted] but refused to shut the main water line off, insisting that she do it due to liability concerns. They witnessed her switch it off. She states our crew shut it off.  Regardless, she was fully aware that the water had been shut off at the main valve and not in her dwelling’s laundry area.   Her and her neighbor are seeking over $5K on a damage that we know we are not liable for.  1. She turned the water off  2. She knew of the consequences for turning the water back on without repairing the damaged washer gate valve 3. She advised the new home owner to go ahead and turn the water back on The new owner's home inspection failed to address this issue with Ms. [redacted]. She was well aware of the repercussions for turning the main water back on. We are trying to do what is right and come to a fair resolution, but she has not accepted any responsibility which is complicating the matter.  Based on our findings and her statements, we are not accepting responsibility for the claim.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]I had lived at  for 30 years.  At no time in that 30 years did I ever havwe t shut0[redacted]the main water supply, I was award of its location in the front of the houser bu5t never had to turnit off. While your men were there, one of them came to me and ask where the main water shut off was, I ask them for what reason.  He said so they could disconnect the washer and dryer. I did ot ever suggest to him to turn the main off.  We located the valve and he shut if off.  Not once did he ever tell me the washer shut off valve was broken,  Then how did they know it was't working properly?they had to of tried to shut off in order to know it was working .  I am 72 years old.  I also have never connected or discoonneted a washer and dryer.  I sold my house and would have taken care of a broken valve if I had knownI have talked to several people that are of ghave been in the moving.  None of them said they would turn off the main water to disconnect the washer or ice maker.  They would simply turn off the supplyvalve to the appliance.  In addition your guys disconnected the refrigerator ice maker under the sibk,.  They did notturn off the valve before it as disconnected leaving it on to add to the flooding once the water was turned on.I am only asking for paym, ent for the damage and clean up in the amount of $1,736.00 not $5K
Regards,

Dear [redacted],Thank you so much for reaching out with your concern.  Unfortunately your issue was classified to the incorrect TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Franchise location.  Each TWO MEN AND A TRUCK location is independently owned and operated.  We are based in Spring.  There is a TWO...

MEN AND A TRUCK location on Winsome Rd. in Houston.  We do not share mutual ownership with that location and therefore we cannot reply specifically to your concern.  I have brought the matter to the attention of that franchise.  If there is anything else that I can do for you please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your timeSincerelySteve [redacted]
