Unfinished, substandard work and unresponsive contractor
September 8th - Entered into a contract with Monaco Construction to repair some interlock and storm pipes; see contract for all work that was supposed to be done. They have replaced 2 gates and installed 4 new PVC pipes so far. Monaco has done minimal work and the work that has been completed is unacceptable. I had to get another contractor to inspect Monaco's work, and they told me that the workmanship is not up to industry standards. I have tried many times to communicate with Monaco Construction, and he is not responsive. When I do eventually get him on the phone, he is rude and hangs up on me. He tells me that I am very demanding. I just want the work he quoted me on finished and done properly and efficiently, or I want a refund. I am a senior and I feel like he is taking advantage of me.
I got another estimate from another contractor to fix the unacceptable work by Monaco that they started and never finished; I was quoted $13,000 by the other contractor to repair Monaco's bad job. I would like a refund for the rest of the job that was not completed by Monaco. I have cancelled the last installment of $710.00 as the work is not completed. This work needs to be completed ASAP before winter. Thank you in advance for your help.
