I bought $300 worth of reclaimed fine crushed asphalt from Monahan Construction for use on the driveway. The driver dumped off a load of what appeared to be road leavings. Seeing what to my eyes appeared to be a large pile of fill and not what I had ordered. I asked the driver why he had delivered an incorrect order to me but he was insistent that it was fine crushed asphalt. In my naivete I took him on his word, paid him and began to spread the pile.Unfortunately, my initial misgivings seemed more valid as I started work on it. The $300 I had paid amounted to a large pile primarily composed of rocks, concrete chunks, dirt, the occasional large chunk of asphalt and some actual compact-able asphalt.I called Monahan Construction and spoke with the man who dropped off the load who said he was also the owner of the business. When I told him that the load he had delivered to me was not what I had paid for he insisted that I was indeed primarily crushed asphalt. I pointed out the load upon load of concrete, rocks, and other debris that I had to move he still insisted that it was mostly, if not completely crushed asphalt. After five minutes of him repeating that it was crushed asphalt and flatly declining my request for at least partial restitution I knew I was getting nowhere.The next day we compacted it all, not including the pile of rocks we had made, it was essentially just like our dirt driveway. There was a slight difference in color after the rain but it was nowhere near the right look or feel of actual crushed asphalt.Product_Or_Service: Fine Crushed AsphaltDesired SettlementI would request either a complete refund of the $300 or a partial refund of what I paid for the load along with a load of actual fine crushed asphalt so that we may finish the job we started.
