Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because: This has nothing to do with a ten year parts warranty It has everything to do with the fact that I never got the motor I ordered . It appears they cannot build the motor I paid for because they have had two chances at getting it right and have failed both timesI have better things to do than pulling motors in and out every monthIt costs me labor, fluids, and gaskets every time and I can"t keep paying for their mistakesIf I would have gotten the new motor I ordered from the start and it had broken, that's what the warranty is forThey can not send me two pieces of crap and expect me to be happy with that, warranty or not! This company is supposed to be the top in their fieldAs far as what I have received I can not say they are even in the middleI think they are trying to take advantage of the fact that I live in Michigan and they are in CaliforniaThey must have thought I didn't have any knowledge about what they were building for meWhen I got the first motor I ran the serial number on the block and found out it wasn't even a block no roller camshaft, reworked used heads and no telling what else. I never got to look inside the motorI can only assume it was as wrong as the rest of it. The build sheet they emailed me said it was a . As far as not issuing refunds, they broke that rule when they refunded me the cost of the bad transmissions I sent backI've said it before I'll say it again they have lost my trust. I cannot trust that they will give me the product I have worked so hard to save that kind of money for. It's
misrepresentation where I come from and it is their responsibility to refund me. I work in a very busy auto shop with co-workers and customers coming and goingEveryone knows me and know the car this motor goes in and I am tired of being known as the guy who spent thirteen thousand dollars for a motor and got taken to the cleaners. Bottom line I paid for a performance motor and didn't get it. These motors have been a complete embarrassment to me on and off the track so please refund my money and let me get on with getting my car up and running.

Mr. P[redacted] did indeed purchase a Rochester Carburetor from our company on 01-14-2015 for $489.00 plus a $23.00 freight charge.  There was an issue with the carburetor maintaining an idle, so the carburetor was returned to us and received by us on 05-04-2015.It is our store return policy to...

issue an in-house credit (exchange) for any parts returned in a used condition. We warranty all of our parts, so he would have received a either a repaired carburetor or a replacement carburetor if indeed the carburetor was found to be defective.In this case we will refund this customer the full purchase price of the carburetor including freight, $512.00.The credit will be issued to his credit card and he will receive confirmation via US mail within 7 business days of this response.

As stated previously, we warranty our engines.  If this customer would like to return the motor to us we will go through it, determine what the problems are with the engine and if necessary rebuild it, no charge to the customer.As of this date we have had no opportunity to inspect this engine since it was shipped to the customer in March of 2012, over three years ago.Should the customer decide to send his engine back to us we will be happy to honor our warranty.

Review: We are performing a complete off body restoration of a 1965 Oldsmobile Jetstar. The original engine was a 330. The 455 engine was purchased for $8,995 from Mondello Performance Products and shipped in spring of 2012, with the build sheet listing it as balanced and blueprinted which means the engine should be as good as when it was first built if not better. Since the engine was different from the original engine, custom headers, radiators, etc. needed to be built and hence the reason for the time lag. The engine was first started on March 20, 2015.

There were serious problems with the engine:

1. Intake leaked

2. Timing was too far advanced

3. Spark plugs were fouled

4. Plugs were loose

5. Right rocker had excessive clearance

6. Sludge not cleaned out of drain back holes

7. Ticking noise

8. Since the ticking noise did not abate, the intake was pulled. It was then found:

a. bottom of lifter was chewed up (eroded) and two others were staring to erode.

b. The cam lobe was worn and damaged and metal shavings are potentially throughout the engine

9 Engine was run about 5-10 minutes since first starting the engine.

10. The build sheet shows 20/.50 Castrol Oil but for break in of the engine, brake oil should have been used.

Mondello response was for us to pay thousands of dollars to ship the engine from Texas to California for them to fix it. This is not a warranty issue – this is deceptive trade practices.

We have paid thousands of dollar to get the engine taken apart and fixed the way it should have been when we purchased it.

The company should NOT be in business.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of $4,000 of the original purchase price.

This engine was purchased and shipped to Mr. B[redacted] in 2012, and we have had no direct communication from this customer until April 20, 2015. He stated in a letter to us that he first started his engine on March 20th 2015. So it sat for 3 years before he ever even started his motor, and we are not aware under what conditions the motor was started and run (fluids changed, motor primed, etc.).Mondello Performance has a 10 year warranty on all of the parts installed on its engines. If there is a defective part in the engine, the customer can return the part or the entire engine for parts replacement or repair of the motor. I am rejecting this response because: The engine was not 'balanced and blueprinted' which means it would have been like new. See photos - the lifters were chewed up, the cam shaft was chewed up, sludge was dug out from the engine. This is not a warranty issue - it is deceptive trade practice and there will be a lawsuit with all this evidence in the very near future. This company should be investigated for fraud.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: spent fifteen grand for new motor and transmission and both turned out to be bad. The trans was first. Sent it back they sent a new one and it was also bad. Sent it back and got a new one from somewhere else .Took weeks to get my money back on that. Got car up and running just to find out the motor was also bad. Turns out it was not the block I ordered did not have the correct camshaft and was not brand new parts. Heads were in bad shapevalve height was not correct. Sent it back to be replaced. After weeks of waiting and calling and being told I was getting the right block new heads the right camshaft finally got the motor only to find the heads were used the rockers were used and altered. The camshaft was still not correct and it was way down on power. broke a valve spring within hours of run time. After checking it out found compression to be way low. One cylinder was at 85 lbs. the best cylinder at 120 and the rest in between. I have been jerked around lied to and I do not trust them any more. I just want a full refund and send their junk back to them so I can get on with getting my car up and running.Desired Settlement: full refund seeing that I never really got the motor I was supposed to get.

Review: I purchased a Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. It was delivered in a reasonable time. I installed the carb and it would not idle. Called L**n at Mondello and he said to send it back and he would look it over. Sent the carb back as requested 3 weeks went by called to see what was going on and was told that they are waiting for parts he ordered to fix the problem and should be another week. Two more weeks went by. Called and said they should have it done in another week. Two more weeks went by no communication or carb. Called L**n and I expressed that I would like a refund. He said they only give store credits no refunds and that he thought it was shipped] back to me and should receive it in a week. Two weeks went by and no carb. Called L**n and said he would track it down. Shipper said that it was checked in at one shipping location but could not see where it went from there. L**n said he would look into it more and get back to me.This is an unacceptable practice and I would like a refund as it appears the carb is lost etc. I shold not have to accept a store credit. Can not trust this company.Desired Settlement: I prefer a total refund to include my shipping costs to send it back for repair.
