Coding Specialist in October Ms*** contacted the university on October 14, asking where she needed to go to participate in her classesShe was sent a message on October 15, inviting her to attend an information session for new students that would cover information on how to access her classes, the class drop deadline and class participationShe successfully completed the first term of the program in December Ms*** was sent a message at the end of the term notifying her that the next term begins January 5, 2015.As stated in the Admissions Policy below, students are automatically scheduled for classes for the program from one term to the next.ADMISSION PROCEDURESProspective students are expected to complete an interview with a Herzing University admissions advisorThe advisor will provide information about programs, start dates, student services, and employment opportunities for graduatesOnce all admission requirements have been fulfilled, the advisor will generally invite the prospective student to submit an electronic application for admission to the UniversityThe applicant will be notified in writing of the action taken by the University with respect to his/her applicationWhen an application has been accepted, the applicant must establish appropriate financial arrangements and complete the necessary documentationOnce the applicant has completed these arrangements, signed a University Enrollment Agreement, and paid an enrollment fee, the applicant will be considered an enrolled student and will be automatically registered for appropriate classesStudents do not have to register for classes; the University will schedule students for the applicable courses in each semester based upon their program of studyStudents will have the right to request adjustments to their schedule, which will be accommodated whenever possible. The Spring semester was from January through April 22, Ms*** successfully completed the first three courses of the Spring A termShe was automatically enrolled in the next three courses for the Spring B termThroughout the Spring B term, Ms*** was sent subsequent messages of her current progress in her courses along with a message reminding her of the deadline to withdraw from a full-term without the penalty of an “F”Following is the Withdrawal Policy as stated in the Herzing University Undergraduate Catalog:Withdrawal from UniversityA student may withdraw from Herzing University at any time by notifying the Academic Dean or RegistrarIf the withdrawal occurs during an ongoing semester, the grade assigned to each course will be based on the student’s overall last date of attendance with the University.If the student’s overall last date of attendance is prior to the midway point of the course, then the grade assigned will be a “W.” If the student’s overall last date of attendance is after the midpoint of a course, then a letter grade will be assignedThe University will withdraw a student if he/she fails to attend all their courses for a period of days. The midpoint of the courses for this term was March 29, Ms*** was in attendance for each of the scheduled courses for the Spring B term through April 10, Because Ms***’s last date of attendance was past the 60% point of the semester, she was not subject to the required refund and return calculationsAll tuition and aid was earned for the semester.Ms*** was not in attendance for any scheduled courses for the Summer and was withdrawn from the university May 6, On May 21, 2015, Herzing University notified Ms*** of her student loan balance calculated based upon her day of withdrawal as well as information on student loan repaymentStudents who were eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid at Herzing University as of their last recorded date of attendance, and who have not completed at least 60.01% of the term, are subject to a calculation (established 10-7-by the Federal Secretary of Education) to determine how much they have earned in Title IV Funds. How much a student has earned is based on the number of days the student attended versus the total number of days in the semester.
