Monique's Nails

I had a pedicure on Saturday, 2/22/14 at Monique's Nails. While having the pedicure the girl punctured my skin beside my great toe nail. I spoke up and informed the girl of the puncture and that it was painful, at which point she apologized. On Monday, 2/24/14 my great toe became red, swollen and painful with pus coming out of the puncture site. At that point I went to my physician who took a culture of the pus and prescribed antibiotics. I went to Monique on that same day 2/24/14 to tell her about my toe and the infection and requested my $31.00 refund which did not include the tip I had given the girl that punctured my toe. Monique looked at my toe, squeezed it causing me further pain and said she did not see anything wrong with the toe. She said the girl that punctured my toe was stressed due to [redacted]. Monique said she did not refund anyone money, but since I was being nice to her she would be nice to me and offered a gift certificate for another pedicure. I told her I had medical expenses now that I needed to pay and would just like my $31.00 refund. She again refused to give my refund. After having an allergic reaction to the first antibiotic, I had to switch to another medicine. When the culture came back it showed positive for [redacted] which is a very serious infection. I am currently taking my 3rd round of antibiotics which has cost me an additional $50 but the medicine costs my insurance company $3,000 as it is the best to fight/kill the [redacted] infection. Now my cost for this pedicure is in the amount of $167, not including the doctor's office visit. I would alert anyone going to this place to beware of infection and cleanliness. It is not worth the health issues nor the lack of customer service!!!!
