Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I disagree with [redacted]'s assertions and feel that he is outright lying about the situation.
Assertion 1:   "There were many extra/ additional added to the project
by the homeowner, changes in the layout by the homeowner, material selection
delays by the homeowner, unrealistic cost expectations by the homeowner"
Response:    All the changes that Mr. [redacted] were addressed in an addendum to the contract.   I fully agreed to pay for all of the changes and additions to the contract.   My cost expectations were based on the quotations provided by [redacted] and written into the contract.   I have no no other cost expectations.    There were no delays as a result of my actions.
Assertion 2:   "Mr. [redacted] opted for a substantially larger crown
molding throughout his home, thus increasing the cost"
Response:   The larger crown molding was quoted by [redacted] and was included as a cost increase in the contract addendum.   I fully agreed to pay for the larger crown molding.   I gave [redacted] monies to be used towards the purchase of this crown molding.   [redacted] failed to purchase the crown molding and never delivered the materials.
Assertion 3:  "My final decision to pull off the project was based
upon information from my vendors that Mr. [redacted] was contacting to negotiate
prices with them"
Response:   This is a false statement by [redacted].   I made no contact with any of his suppliers in regard to pricing.  I did make contact with these suppliers to choose the color, style, pattern, etc.
Assertion 4:   "according to our records, there would be a balance
owed to Monolith Tile & Granite LLC if were pursued"
Response:   I am not aware of owing anything to Monolith Tile.   The progress payments made to [redacted] should have been more than adequate to cover the proportion of the job that was completed.
Assertion 5:   "In addition to the tools belonging to Monolith Tile
& Granite LLC. that Mr. [redacted] decided to keep as he felt he was owed
money."
Response:   The tools that [redacted] is referring to are sitting in my garage right where he left them.  I promised [redacted] that I would return them to him, once we have successfully executed a closure agreement.   In order to reach this closure, I would like a return of the monies given to [redacted] for the deposit for granite and crown molding.   This money was entrusted to him to use for the purchase of these materials.   Since the materials were not delivered, I expect the money to be returned.
In addition to all of the above, [redacted] damaged the ceiling in my basement, left drill holes in the wall of my living room, and scratched walls in the entryway. I have a quote from a drywall company to repair the basement ceiling damage for $500.
In conclusion, I continue to remain open to discussing a closure agreement.   This has always been the case.   I gave up trying to call [redacted] and communicating with him because he failed to return calls and emails.  It has been 5 months since [redacted] left the job and left his tools in my garage.   I will be happy to make his tools available for pick up when we reach agreement on closure.
Regards,
[redacted]

To Whom I may concern,
Yes there was a contract entered into with the [redacted] residence. There is far more to the story than the project being left incomplete. There were many extra/ additional added to the project by the homeowner, changes in the layout by the homeowner, material selection...

delays by the homeowner, unrealistic cost expectations by the homeowner. Yes there were things left to be done in the said residence. Other projects were taken on by Monolith Tile & Granite LLC due to hold up based upon the material selection delays by the Homeowner. Mr. [redacted] opted for a substantially larger crown molding throughout his home, thus increasing the cost. our discrepancy started there. thousands of dollars difference. My final decision to pull off the project was based upon information from my vendors that Mr. [redacted] was contacting to negotiate prices with them. they did not. at that point I decided to take a look at labor and materials (extras included) thus far completed, started, or installed. and compare to amounts paid. according to our records, there would be a balance owed to Monolith Tile & Granite LLC if were pursued. In addition to the tools belonging to Monolith Tile & Granite LLC. that Mr. [redacted] decided to keep as he felt he was owed money. No civil suit has been filed at this point, but not being ruled out.
