In the letter you received from the customer there were several complaints all of which are either or not fully explainedMy partner was at the job when the materials were deliveredThe customer stated that the materials were directly on the ground and not covered*** *** delivered the
materials as they do on almost all of our jobs and just like on every other job there was wooden slats under the lumber to keep it off the groundThe Vantec board was on top of the rest of the lumber and is water proof with a year guaranteeAll other materials were covered by a tarp provided by the customer himselfAs for the issues with the door, it functioned properly the day the job was finishedTwo days after the job was completed and the last installment paid, the customer called to complain about the doorMy partner went out to remedy the issue and found the door needed a latch to keep the door closed in which the customer refused to let him installThe building was a quarter of an inch out of square because the customer requested the building to be raised to the level of a pre-existing deckThe raising of the building which was not in the original contract was done in an attempt to satisfy the customer at no extra charge to himWhen we raised the building an extra two feet at the customers request that created two extra feet of wall that was not originally accounted for or charged forSince there was two extra feet of wall we were short on siding however if the customer had not changed the design half way through the build, we would have had the correct amount of siding with some leftoverThe customer also stated that we did not caulk the window which is correct however the window was a weathertite window that does not need to be caulkedOnce again my partner went back out to the building and caulked the window even though it was not necessary in order to attempt to satisfy the customerWe have been in the construction business for thirty plus years and have never had an issue that we could not resolveEvery solution we provided the customer with was shot down or refusedThe issues the customer is complaining about are either not in the contract for the work to be completed or issues that were caused by him having us deviate from the original blueprintI would also like to know if he felt so strongly about the lack of quality of the work, why he paid the final installment that was due when the job was complete and he was satisfied with the job.Sincerely, *** ***
