I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The letter that I sent to you was a response to these two letters that I received from MCWA which means that the Authority either disregarded my last letter (the one that I sent to you) or that the Authority responded to you before they read my letter from February. Regards,  [redacted]

MCWA responded to the Revdex.com complaint before receiving the complainant’s February letter because the complaint was received days before the letter was received.  However, her February letter was imbedded in the Revdex.com complaint, and MCWA’s response was responsive to the entire complaint.   MCWA has repeatedly answered the complainant’s questions in person, over the phone, and in writing.  Although MCWA understands and is sympathetic to the fact that the complainant is unhappy with her high water bill, it has been determined that the meter read was correct which makes the bill in question correct. Since the complainant is still disputing the bill, MCWA has offered to test the water meter.  There would be a $50 meter test fee if the meter tests within AWWA standards.  If the meter test fails, the fee would be waived, and the account would be adjusted accordingly.  In order to be fair and consistent with all customers, MCWA has policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in place.  When handling the complainant’s account throughout this matter, the aforementioned policies, procedures, rules, and regulations were followed.  Therefore, MCWA does not feel that it was negligent or irresponsible in any manner.  The complainant’s suggestion for MCWA to adjust her account to what she normally pays and excuse all charges in abundance of her “normal” charges is unreasonable.  If MCWA made this adjustment for her, it would have to do the same for any customer who is unhappy with his or her water bill.  That is not a feasible solution.  However, in accordance with MCWA’s policies and procedures, MCWA has offered the complainant a one-time courtesy adjustment in the amount of $233.70.  In addition, MCWA has offered a payment arrangement of $50 per month on the balance.  MCWA is still willing to offer this adjustment and payment arrangement.  The complainant must continue to make reasonable payments towards the balance in order to avoid service discontinuance.  This has been our response all along, and it continues to be our response.  This is a reasonable solution to this matter and is in accordance with our policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.  There is nothing more that MCWA can do for the complainant in this matter.
