We called Ike in the morning with an emergency outage on our downstairs A/C unit He had a crew come an hour away the same day to replace a defective part and have us up and running within a couple hours Thanks again Ike, your crew was quick, clean and courteous
Monsoon Mechanical appears to be a side business owned by Ike Martinez -- a Phoenix fireman. I mention this to point out that this is a side business, and not the owner's primary area of expertise.
Monsoon was selected by my general contractor, Arcadia Design Build in Phoenix, to install the heating/air conditioning systems as part of my house remodeling project. They installed a 5-ton main unit to replace the older unit in the main house, and a 2-ton secondary unit to service an indoor aviary.
Problems began immediately when Monsoon's technician came out to hook up the 5-ton unit. He couldn't figure out why it wasn't functioning and was on my roof for over 12 hours. An associate of his was called and the two of them tore apart the new unit. It turned out that this technician had installed the wrong model of thermostat.
Several months later, I called my contractor to report problems with the 2-ton unit, which was more than 10 degrees off from the actual temperature in my aviary, and was cycling off/on repeatedly and erratically. Monsoon's technician again came out, diagnosed the problem as a problematic placement of the temperature sensor in the return duct (which Monsoon had investigated initially and said was OK), and proceeded to relocate the sensor. I was charged $350 -- not for the sensor relocation, but for work that Monsoon did during the remodeling project 6 months previously to correct their own errors in underestimating cooling requirements in my new bedroom.
Clearly, Monsoon doesn't know the products it sells at all. Each time a Monsoon technician comes out (apparently they have only one), he has to pour over my owner's manual to figure out how to deal with the unit he sold me.
This isn't a "ready for prime time" business. Look elsewhere.
