Tell us why here...We are truly sorry for the misunderstandings which have occured. It is often very difficult when the death of a loved one is sudden and unexpected and more so when some members of the family are at a distance.In this case, the deceased's children were underage and
therefore their guardian/parent (his ex-wife) was required to sign the necessary releases; one to release his remains to the funeral home from the *** ***Office and two, for someone to sign for his cremation. In no way did that eliminate the involvement with the funeral arrangements. In this case, his niece, came forward to arrange for the funeral and assume financialresponsibility on behalf of his father. We would have no way of knowing that the remainder of the family was not in agreement since they were not here. Not until all arrangements were complete did a question arise regarding the timing of the funeralThe arrangements were posted on our website and in the newspaper. Certified copies of the death certificate are public record and can be obtained from the town clerk in Dennis by anyone and we are more than glad to assist.Unfortunately we are often caught in the middle of the family dynamics at this difficult time.
