Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital Reviews (4)

Mr. [redacted]'s pet "[redacted]" was seen for a routine vaccine appointment on February 17th. Our records show that later that day he called the hospital and asked for a letter stating that his dog was a service/therapy dog for his medical condition. He was called back and told that he would have to get...

that letter from the trainer/program where the dog underwent training and received the certification. During this phone conversation he stated that [redacted] was not feeling well and the phone operator offered to make him an appointment which he declined.

We are very sorry for you loss of [redacted]. I would like to point out that all of the accusations you have made are inaccurate. We are very aware that ANY anesthetic surgery comes with risk and we go over this with the owner, and the consent form that the owner signed goes over this risk. You are...

correct, your pet was not up to date on vaccines, therefore the owner requested they all be updated. Also, the owner was given a choice of doing pre-anesthetic bloodwork- which could show us a potential problem prior to surgery and she declined. Dr. [redacted] did call you back and go over things in detail with you- that this could have been a reaction to anesthesia, or something else. Our staff tried to be as helpful as possible, but when they are being harrassed and called horiffic names (swearing at us) via the telephone, we choose to hang up- nobody should have to endure that. We also saw to it that you received a FULL reimbursement on everything that was done for [redacted]. Thank you for your time.

Review: My healthy pitbull went in for being spayed and vaccinated. They did not take in the fact that operating on animal that is in heat was a risky operation and was not informed on this matter. Also all vaccines and surgery were done back to back possibly overwhemling my poor dog [redacted] which subsequently led to her death. The staff there have not been helpful or apologetic. I still have not found out how she died nor do they even care to tell me. [redacted] the physician attending to [redacted] acted out in negligence and has yet to apologize for his mistakes.Desired Settlement: A full refund of the vaccines and spay. An apologetic letter explaining his actions and how the establishment needs to be more informative before any kind of operation.

Review: I took my dog into the office to have his shots updated, his ear looked at and his nails clipped. My dog became sick from the shots and they asked that I pay additional fees to have them check my dog. He has not eaten nor drank anything since the shots this morning.Desired Settlement: A refund of the fees paid and if needed any follow up appointments covered by the vet office.
