When *** mother contacted me on September 1st, I handled the situation immediately with herShe explained to me that she was under the impression that if she would have known that the charges for shipping, processing, boxes, and ice would have been around $1,000, she never would have shipped the boxesI told her that all of our prices are posted and that I was sorry for the miscommunicationI told her that the box had shipped out that morningI told her I could call *** and have them reroute the packages to me and she would be responsible for shipping the boxesI told her for me to reroute them back to me I would be doubled charged from ***I offered to just discount her for what it would cost me to reroute the package back to meI explained to her that our prices were the same as if she were to go down to *** directly for priority overnight serviceI told her that because I felt bad about the miscommunication that I would take a loss on the whole situation to make it right for her and make sure she would get her fishIf I would have rerouted the packages back to me, it would still cost her about $for the shipping alone from ***She told me that that sounded fair to her but that she wanted me to charge her for the $and refund her sons credit cardI told her I would do that, which I did immediatelyPlease see the attached credit card receipts. I essentially gave her $discount and lost money on this transaction to avoid any future conflicts with the customerThere was charges on *** credit card which were refunded: $(for shipping and processing) & $ (for boxes and ice)The total came to $I refunded *** $and $and charged his mother $I have also attached copies of our posted *** ratesI can scan the processing rates if needed but I didn't have anymore room for attachments. I have not heard of *** calling us back since I dealt with this situation with his mother on September 1stI have been out of the country on vacation however since September 4th and just returned today so it is possible he called but none of my staff has told me that he has when I asked themI also tried calling *** today and left him a messageUltimately, this comes down to a misunderstanding by the customer of posted prices for services rendered which our standard in the industryBecause we are the largest *** shipper and custom processor on the Kenai Peninsula, our rates are actually much lower than if they would have went to another company in the areaThis whole situation saddens me that *** would take the time to file this complaint and waste everyone's time; especially because I had resolved this issue with his mother and lost money to make them happy
