Review: My daughter in-law, [redacted], reserved a taxi to pick up my mother, [redacted] to take her to [redacted] Airport on the evening of May 8th, 2013 from [redacted] The online estimated rate is $110.00. [redacted] reserved the taxi on her credit card. My mother, [redacted], was picked up on time but the driver took her to [redacted]. My mother noted the signs to [redacted] and informed the driver that she was supposed to go to [redacted]. He changed course and took her to [redacted]. He charged her $200.00, she paid in cash and she has her receipt. In addition to the $200.00 charge, my daughter in-law was charged $110.00.I called the company and talked with a man that identified himself as the "Office Manager", regardless of several requests he refused to give me his name. He said, "All you need to know is that I am the Office Manager". He stated that the credit card debit would be refunded but that the $200.00 cash payment seemed reasonalble to him. He said that traffic often causes the fair to increase. I told him that there was no traffic issues going into DC at that time of night. The only issue was that the driver had taked my mother to the wrong airport and had to re-route. I asked to speak to an owner or his supervisor to appeal his decision. He told me he was the "highest authority" and the owners did not accept calls. He asked me why I did not just take my mother to the airport if I was so concerned. I told that that was not his business but for his information I was not in town. He responded that if I asked him questions he could ask me questions. He then hung up.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that my Mother, [redacted], be refunded $90.00. Her address is [redacted]. I am sending this on her behalf of my Mother who has never used and does not own a computer. The difference between the advertised online price for the taxi ride, $110.00 and the amount she paid, $200.00. She is 78 years old, lives on a fixed income and this was the first time she had been in a taxi in 20 years.

Review: On Saturday 27 July 2013 at 4 PM I called the Montgomery County Taxicab to verify my online reservation and pick up time from [redacted] airport. The male on the phone could not find my reservation. He then proceeded to make a reservation for me and informed me that the taxi fair would be $99. When I asked why the website specifically said the fare from [redacted] to [redacted], Md was $79 and what additional fees were included to bring the price to $99 he proceeded to call me a "mother [redacted]" and a "[redacted]", repeatedly and told me to "go [redacted] myself". This went on for approximately 30-45 secs. His last parting words before he hung up was that "you can just walk your [redacted] mother [redacted] home from the airport". Needless to say this was not what I expected and was greatly offended. I asked to talk to his supervisor and he informed me that there is no supervisor, HE was the supervisor. On Sunday I checked the website again and found that the rate had been changed to $99. On Monday when I called to confirm that my reservation had been canceled so I would not have to watch my credit card I was informed by a different male that I was permanently blocked from using the companies service. This because I asked why the taxi fee was different from the website (at the time)? At no time did I raise my voice, become verbally abusive or antagonistic towards the individual. What was most disparaging was the fact that my wife and son heard and had to endure the abuse as well.Desired Settlement: An apology from the taxi cab company and the male that was so verbally abusive to me. Removal of my status as permanent ban from using the companies services. A fine against the company for the verbal abuse inflicted by the employee on me for simply asking for clarification on the discrepancy in the companies online reservation quote and the amount I was told over the phone.

Review: The site demands a credit card number up front, online. That is an outrageous security risk. When I called the office to book a ride, paying cash, the dispatcher hung up on me when I said I wouldn't stick my credit card number into an unknown site - that I'd be paying cash.Desired Settlement: If, as I'm guessing, it is illegal to insist upon credit card numbers online then the company needs to be apprised of that and if they wont' change their practice, be shut down. If I'm completely wrong then I would like to be notified so I can start changing some laws.
