On December 3, we, Montgomery Pediatrics was Contacted by our billing company regarding a discussion/concern voiced by a father of one of our patientsHe is the noncustodial parent but covers insurance on his daughterHe called to say he was receiving bills that included no-show feesHe
also went into telling them that he works for the Federal Government who pulls his credit every year and that he has some medical bills that are on his creditThe billing office checked into this and explained to dad that they do not have any record showing anything was submitted for collections by their billing office on himUpon evaluation, we did have the father's address in the responsible party address that had been pulled from the insurance informationThis was correct for the insurance information, but not the $no-show feeThis was corrected on December 3, by changing the address to the mother's address and rebilledThe billing office called the father on December 4, and was unable to reach himA voicemail was left with the details of the corrections and that it was rebilled to the motherThe billing office attempted to call the father again on December 11, and was unable to reach himAnother message was left on this dayAs mentioned in the *** *** *** letter by the father we did receive a medical release on December 3, from F* *** *** *** *** ***This is a facility that we do refer our patients to at times, however we did not refer this patient and the information that was being requested was information that does not pertain to a referral that we would normally submitThe signature on the medical release was one that was not recognized as one we had on file for this patient eitherTherefore due to HIPAA we did not send over the medical information being requested as we would not want to release medical information incorrectlyOur Referral Care Coordinator has tried to reach out to the Manager at *** *** *** *** *** *** *o get more information on what is needed and why their facility is requesting this information without a referral coming from our officeBoth the Referral Care Coordinator and the Manager have missed calls from each other and have not discussed the medical release as of yetIf any further questions feel free to contact our office
