*** *** is incredibly unprofessional, very unreliable, and did not know what he was doing When we originally requested a quote for vinyl he was the only contractor who showed up on time to give an estimate, provided his business license and insurance info, and showed me pictures of some of the work he had doneHe didn't have a Revdex.com rating but he was a new, small business and had nothing negative listed We hired him to remove and replace all rotted pieces of wood (just small sections), cover all the hardwood siding on the eaves, cover all the wood trim, and cover the windows around our house as well as remove and replace our back deck *** and his wife came out on Friday March 13, and went over all the details I asked him to make sure he had the correct measurements and prices for the materials and he said he had checked and he also assured me that he had a helper and the two of them would be able to finish in one week We agreed paid him $1,up front for the vinyl material so he would have everything ready for Monday morning We also paid him $525, 25% of the total vinyl and deck labor On Monday morning March 16, we had expected him to be there before we left for work so I called him on my way to work and he assured me that he was picking up the supplies and would be out by and we would be very surprised when we came home When we came home we couldn't point out any single thing he had done but there were supplies in the back yard I called him and he explained they had to wait for the material to be delivered but had done some prep work That first week he did quite a bit on the side eaves and it looked okay It wasn't the best quality, there were lots of seams in the middle and some stuff wasn't even but we assumed it was "part of the process" On days I worked from home they didn't show up to work till after took a lunch and were gone before The next week again, we came home on Monday and couldn't point out anything in particular that had been completed We tried to call and he avoided our calls for days before finally replying that had been sick and would be out later in the week Again, the work that was completed was okay Fast forward weeks, several excuses for not showing up (I was sick, she was sick, my sister was sick, the radar said it would rain, just no explanation given at all for not showing up), several explanations of "we needed to get more supplies", and continuing to ignore texts and phone calls and showing up for a few hours at a time On April 17, *** and *** *** came out to "finish the job and then we'll be out of your hair" The metal trim was terrible, there were several places that had not even been covered with vinyl, the work on the underside of the front porch looked incomplete, and the vinyl on the windows was uneven and hung over the top of the window so you couldn't even access the entire window pane I pointed out several issues and he said again, they needed to go pick up more supplies He left and came back about minutes later and asked for more money for the metal flashing as they had already used all the material money I naively agreed to give him $(since he pointed out they had used more rolls of metal than they quoted) under the condition that we walk around the house and make a list of everything else that needed to be complete We agreed that he would be here Monday morning between 8- and my husband would also go over some things with him Monday April 20, my husband and I both waited for him to show up At 9:I called him and he immediately texted me "hey I am so sorry I just woke up I am getting dressed and coming that way I am sorry" At noon my husband called and he said they were picking up the supplies and would be out by pm At pm my husband received a text "im sorry they breaker won't be ready till wed" and that is the last we've heard from him *** now refuses to answer our calls or text
