To reply to Ms ***'s response: I have never asked for more then I put down on my dress If I would have gotten my dress on the date that we had said it was supposed to be due I would not have ever had to go through this process and Ms [redacted] is aware of thisMs [redacted] got compensation for the dresses that were ruined in the roof damage I , however, will never be compensated for not getting the dress I had wished for and dreamed of having This whole process that is going on is about doing the right thing Ms [redacted] admits she is getting reimbursed for the damage that took place in her shopwhy then did she not believe this was the right thing to do for me since my dress was not going to be delivered on time and she knows this The wedding is overwhy would I want a dress that is not fitted to me ( never came in for a last fitting and she admitted it was not going to be done!) and it was finished after the wedding And to the reply as far as being a small business woman : anything I said in my previous written messages through the Revdex.com was only statements we had talked about on the phone conversation when she hung up on me ; these were things the two of us discussed and she admitted she was not making any money on these dresses Ms [redacted] also states she can not sell this dress that she states she has finished for me and I am puzzledIf she compensates me for my lost money and I never came in to be fitted for the finishing of this dressit is not my dress because it is not totally fitted for meWhy can't she fit it to someone else and sell it We all choose the kind of things we want to do in lifeif Ms [redacted] loves what she is doing , even if she is not making much money, then she also knows that along with this come situations like what happened here and she should not make the customer lose out because things went wrong on her end And when Ms [redacted] brings up the fact that I am a nurse and she is comparing our jobsI have to say that if I would have ever hung up on a client because they were asking me difficult questions and I did not know what else to sayI probably would not have my job right now I took a vow and I worked hard for my license My job is to do the best and go the farthest I can to help my clients within my license; and I do I have accepted that Ms [redacted] send me a bank check , for $80.00, to my address: [redacted] , [redacted] M [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below To Whom it May Concern: In response to Ms ***'s reply to my complaint, I wish to make clear and review some points that she has misrepresented: Ms [redacted] states she has been sewing for years: she must have been years old when she started then; this does not represent the true professional years she has worked in this line of work Also Ms [redacted] stated that I did not tell her until 10-6-that my dress had to be completed by Monday 10-13-and this is not true; I told her right from the beginning when we sat down to discuss the dress and what I wanted that this dress had to be completed by this time due to my work schedule and I had to get other things done for the weddingMs [redacted] stated this should be plenty of time to finish the dress I would have never pursued this farther if there would have been a problem with the completion date As far as how much material was needed for this dress, Ms [redacted] knew I wanted a full dress and I am a very plus size woman She did not order enough fabric in the first place Each time I came in she had something different done or changed on the collar I have only tried the dress on times and there were no sleeves fitted for this dress and the collar was not done according to the pictures I had given her And there is no way that I would have every asked to have a mermaid dress done for me with my figure: she is totally out of line with this comment Ms [redacted] assured me she could dye lace to match my peridot color dress, however, when she showed me what happened when she attempted dying the lace there was no way I was going to do the lace; this is when the chiffon was suggested for the sleevesMs [redacted] attempted to make my dress poof out more by putting some netting under it was horrible; I told her at that time this did not look right and she removed it while I was wearing the dressIt was obvious the dress needed more fabric and I told her I wanted the dress I had explained and showed herShe told me it would cost more and I was willing to do this This was the last time I fit this dress onThere were no sleeves, the collar was not done right, there was no Zipper and it was full of pins all over I never saw the color of the chiffon she was going to order, however, she assured me it would be a perfect match to the color of the dress As far as payment goes Ms [redacted] never discussed a down payment on this dress and I did give her $after the second fitting Ms [redacted] did not have any contracts written up to sign and I never got a receipt for my down payment ; thank goodness I paid by checkAfter this there were at least appointments that she called and told me she had to reschedule do to a wedding and misplanning The appointment for 10-6-was scheduled for am and when she did not show after minutes I called her phone and left a message letting her know I was thereI drove around town for a while and called again and left a message; I was getting nervous by this time I waited until am and she still did not show and I drove home Ms [redacted] finally called me at my home stating she had been in the urgent care after a car accident ( not the severe illness she had stated in her note) She was tearful and this is when I suspected something was not right I stated to Ms ***: "my dress is not going to be done by 10-13-is it and she stated "no"." I then asked her : "the fabric did not come in did it ?" and she stated it was back ordered and was not sure when it would come in She began crying more and getting more emotionally as I inquired ( not shouting or yelling) about what I was going to do and if I was out of my moneyShe stated "yes " I was out of my money but that she had put hundreds of dollars int his dress I told her this is not good business and the customer should not be left with nothing She started crying more and she said " do what you want" and she hung up on meI never got a personal call back after this and I felt panicky I had to figure out how I was going to get a dress with my work schedule ( I am a nurse and the week end before 10-13-I had to work hr shifts) I was finally able to shop on 10-8-( not the next day after 10-6-as Ms [redacted] indicated) ; it took me all day; I went to Madison, and all surrounding towns and finally went to Milwaukee to find the dress that cost me $plus tax and then I had to rush home to find a seamstress to alter the dress at the last minute I found a wonderful professional seamstress of years and she got my dress altered by 10-10-( cost $45.00)When my daughter and her daughter went to the shop to get their dresses done she had to redue my granddaughter's twice and my daughter had to drive around to kill some time until she could get the alteration right Ms [redacted] took the $out of what I had put down so $would be left on what she owed me I did not get the wonderful experience and beautiful hand made dress that I had dreamed of for my daughter's wedding, however, I did learn a very important lessen After the wedding I let Ms [redacted] know that if she could not reimburse me for what I had left then I was going to take further steps I asked that I either get the fabric that was back ordered or the $I did not ask Ms [redacted] to rip the dress apart and give it to me: that does not make sense She then sent me an e-mail,which I saved, stating that my dress in done and in her dressing room with my name on it Well the wedding is over and I would like to know who she used as a model to finsh the sleeves to my arms and the appropriate length, and the exact fit in the collar This is not my dress When she hung up on me and never called me back she was telling me she was done I did not cancel the dress ordershe was unable to meet the deadline and now wants me to pay for it Regards, [redacted]

Hello, my name is [redacted] and I am responding to a customer complaintI have sewn for over yrsI have been making custom garments and creating many sewing projects over those yrsI graduated with a BA of Fine Arts in Fashion DesignI interned at a bridal boutique shortly afterwards From there I started making more custom garments, especially targeting bridalThen in June I decided to solely open and solely run a bridal showroom/ workroomI create sketches, patterns then sewing and fittings for clients, to custom make their chosen designI do this all solely by myselfAll my designs are made by me [redacted] was a waclientHer first visit was in the beginning of August In my boutique she was able to look around the store, get info, etc [redacted] and I talked about the wedding, her dress ideas (a floor length, full skirt, higher waist bodice, high collar design, long sleeves with cuffs and maybe some rhinestone detailing/belt)The color choice she wanted was "clover", she talked about her design ideas, and her date of October 18, for the wedding dateWe talked and set up a further appointmentAt this appointment I had custom sketches created with ***'s design idea and I had ordered fabric swatches in "clover" [redacted] also brought in a picture of a dress she absolutely loved and the color of it was correctThe "Clover" green I was told to look for was not correct As most people know the color spectrum is vastIn the fashion industry color names are vast and vary according to how each store or designer wants to name themThe color she showed me is actually more of a "Peridot" green [redacted] and I sat down and looked over my sketches, talked more, went over design and fabric choices, discussed estimated price ranges, etcShe liked a sketch very much and we then set up another appointmentI quickly searched and ordered new fabric swatches in "Peridot" green and I finalized her chosen sketchAt our next appointment I had a few more fabric samplesI was able to locate a silk charmeuse in her exact color choice from the picture she gave meThis silk was called a "peridot"The silk was not in ***'s chosen fabric choice of satin thoughBut she loved the feel, shine, and drape to the silk fabricAnd the color was spot on to matchThis silk fabric was also more in cost per yardSo the rise in her final estimated cost would go up [redacted] decided to go ahead with it anywayI measured [redacted] according to design needsThen [redacted] left the store without putting any money down toward costsI went ahead and ordered the yardage of the silk, lining, boning, and rhinestone details that also were discussed for final detailing [redacted] also liked my design idea about a sheer/lace sleeveThis would give coverage yet still being light weightWe both loved an idea about lace sleeves with a cuffSo during this time I was also researching and ordering green lace samplesI even attempted to dye a piece of sample lace as well for ***'s dressI continued to work on ***'s patterns while waiting for fabricWhen the fabric arrived I went ahead and cut out the pieces accordinglyAfter the cutting phase comes pinning and preparation for sewing the piecesI set a first fitting with [redacted] in late AugustThis was not an "alteration" piece***'s garment was custom made by handAnd like my typical first fittings of custom made garments, the dress was obviously not completely constructedThe point of custom made is, it is literally pinned and then sewn, to custom fit the customer***'s dress at first fitting had bodice constructed, skirt constructed and attached to bodiceThe collar was in design phase and was pinned to the bodice to show [redacted] the look [redacted] came in and tried on her dressShe liked the color and feel of the fabricShe complained that it was too high in the waistYet, this is what was discussed, and was same as picture given to me by [redacted] and same as my finalized sketch [redacted] also complained that it was too longIt obviously was not hemmed yet and was not even to that stage [redacted] didn't have any chosen shoes yet either, so of course it wasn't hemmed yet [redacted] also complained that it was not laying right on her shouldersI told her there was no zipper or sleeves in the dress yetThis was just a first fitting and we are in a design process [redacted] left the store again without any money toward her custom dressI made another appointment with [redacted] a week later with my reworked bodiceI had used the "back up" silk "periot" green to re-pattern the bodice to make it lowerWe basically went over the same things and [redacted] complained about the same thingsThis time she did not like the collar she liked before during the first fittingI then showed her my attempt at dying the lace for the sleevesShe seemed impatient and did not want me to attempt dying againSo we talked about using another sheer fabric for the sleeves, like a chiffon [redacted] left again without any paymentSo after this appointment I researched and ordered "periot" green fabric samples in chiffonI reworked the collarIt seemed to never get past the fitting phase, is because [redacted] kept changing design and adding design ideasSo I was reworking her dress in between each appointment [redacted] even brought in different pictures of different dress designsAt one point she even said she wanted more of a "mermaid" style skirt than fullI just kept reworking the dress or working on new design ideas that arose throughoutI was trying to make a customer satisfiedThroughout these few short months we had about 8-appointments in store and talked on phoneAny appointments that I needed to "cancel" were always rescheduled in a timely mannerNo appointments were ever cancelled We had appointments throughout August, September, and October Our last appointment together was in late SeptemberI fitted [redacted] in her dressShe had shoes and I pinned and measured for the hemShe complained the skirt wasn't full enough to her likingI told her it would put a time crunch on us if we changed it, and I would need to order more silk "periot" charmeuse to rework the skirtAnd again the final cost would go up [redacted] wanted it fuller, so I said I would need to order more silk charmeuseShe gave me the go aheadI showed her the "peridot" chiffon fabric sampleIt was from the same manufacturer so the colors match perfectly [redacted] liked the chiffon and then wanted another design extra and suggested using the chiffon in the back of the skirtAlmost like an extra "drape" or "train" etc...This was a pretty idea and I again went ahead to make [redacted] satisfiedThe chiffon was also a silk chiffon, so the cost again would go up.(Silk fabrics usually costs double, triple, or even more than regular polyester fabrics.) [redacted] approved and after the fitting she paid me $toward her final dress cost The final fitting set on October, was set for 10am [redacted] showed up at 9am, which was an hr early and repeatedly called me about 3-times in that hr before our appointment( [redacted] had shown up once before an hour earlier and also once an hour late to an appointment) That morning I became extremely ill and needed Urgent CareAfter hearing ***'s irate messages, I went to Urgent Care to take care of myself so I then could take care of my clientsAfter I was released from Urgent Care I called [redacted] back [redacted] was upset and it appeared in her voice she had changed her mind on the custom dressI could tell from her past reactions during fittings and lack in payments that it was not something she really wantedShe asked me if the dress would be finishedI told her I would need to get ahold of the fabric maufactuerer to rush deliver the extra silk charmeuse needed to rework her fuller skirt that she had wanted during the last fittingShe also then informed me that she needed the dress finished by 10-13- Her custom dress had bodice, skirt (without her last minute added fullness/yardage), silk chiffon sleeves were attached, collar attached, and rhinestone belt for this fitting that never happened on 10-6-I told her if the "peridot" green silk charmeuse was now back-ordered it may be tight in the time frameOr the extra fabric wouldn't make it in time at allThe dress would of been finished without the added last minute fullnessBut I couldn't figure it out till I called the companyShe was impatient and basically wanted her money backShe wanted her $deposit toward the 1/months of work, fabric, and dress all backShe wanted me to rip the dress apart and give her fabricShe wanted the dress "as is"I told her I couldn't do thatI told her I have put hundreds of dollars into this dress out of my own money, to get this dress done for her [redacted] got loud with me and told me I was a horrible business womanAnd that I should find a new career choiceShe told me customers come first and I as the business should take a loss by giving her money backI told her we had about days left to figure it outShe went on about "now I will have to find a new dress, who is going to cover that?" [redacted] kept asking me "I don't know what to doWhat do I get out of this?" I could tell she did not want her custom dress anymore [redacted] went on to say how busy she was and that she will never find another dress in time Her daughter and grand-daughter were untrusted to me by [redacted] and they also came into my store a week previous to October 6th, to have their own dresses altered for the weddingThat evening of 10-6-14, I was to meet with ***'s daughter and grand-daughter to give them their finished dressesI told [redacted] on our last 10-phone call that I would not charge her daughter for my work of alterations for the dresses totaling $Then I said to ***, "If you need anything else from me, you let me know." That evening her daughter was not charged(Even though these were separate clients and work done, I again went above and beyond to make [redacted] happyI again took a loss to help ease her anger and distress) That following day around 10am [redacted] called and left a message saying she had already found a new dress [redacted] still saying she wanted her money back [redacted] hinted at me giving her free alterations for this new dress she had purchased She again went on to point out everything I was doing wrong as a business woman When she had found a new dress, this was like days before the wedding and like days before our custom dress deadlineSo, I then finalized she had cancelled her orderI then called the fabric company about that "peridot" silkI told them to cancel my rush order that my client did not want to wait and cancelled her dress [redacted] is subtracting the $I gave her daughter in alterations from her own $in deposit toward her custom dressLeaving her with the "loss" of only $in this matter ***'s first estimated prices (before silk, before added design details, etc...) was $300-$After all the extra work, fabrics, silks, rhinestones, sketches, patterns, sewing and fitting appointments ***'s final costs exceed thisI have never once asked [redacted] for any more money toward her balanceI took it as a loss And about the roof of the building my store is located insideThis matter had nothing to do with ***'s dress was never damaged during anythingAnd as I have told ***, her custom "peridot" green silk long mother's dress with skirt, bodice, sleeves, cuffs, collar, rhinestone belt and her final custom colored sketch to match, is all finished and is in a bag with her name on it Thank you,

[redacted] and BBB, [redacted] I am sorry you feel loss. But you did order a custom dress from a bridal store. I am a one woman business at the moment. I personally run and make everything I sell. So I rarely am able to get discounted prices. I get what everyone else can buy online. Silk fabrics are just more expensive than polyester ones. ***, My offer is to refund your $80,which is left from your $150 and including my free work I did for your family of $70. The landlord roofing company is compensating for my expenses lost during the new roof installments. I will use that money to send to you (***). Would this satisfy you? But, your finished dress would then become my store property to do as I please. Would This be satisfying? I worked hard on your beautiful dress ***. I work hard at what I do because I love it. I make little money, but I am a small business woman. I do not do it for the money. I make custom gowns because I love my customers and I love bridal. I love sewing. Just as I assume you love being a nurse. Even though your hours are long. You do it because you love helping people. The way you have put me down and put my business down has been very hurtful. I have never judged you personally. You have repeatedly disrespected my business practices and you have told me how to run my business. I would never tell you how to be a better nurse. I have been through many hardships in my life as a woman. I personally think that my small town business with making little money is beyond what I could of imagined. And I continue to make beautiful dresses with getting little money. Because my payout is happy customers not the big bills. I would never steal or use customers. And I never stole nor used you ***. I want you happy ***. Would my offer of a check for $80 be satisfying and make you happy? [redacted] Couture Bridal

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To Whom it May Concern:
In response to Ms [redacted]'s reply to my complaint, I wish to make clear and review some points that she has misrepresented:
Ms [redacted] states she has been sewing for 30 years: she must have been 8 years old when she started then; this does not represent the true professional years she has worked in this line of work.  Also Ms [redacted] stated that I did not tell her until 10-6-2014 that my dress had to be completed by Monday 10-13-2014 and this is not true; I told her right from the beginning when we sat down to discuss the dress and what I wanted that this dress had to be completed by this time due to my work schedule and I had to get other things done for the wedding. Ms [redacted] stated this should be plenty of time to finish the dress.  I would have never pursued this farther if there would have been a problem with the completion date.  As far as how much material was needed for  this dress, Ms [redacted] knew I wanted a full dress  and I am a very plus size woman.  She did not order enough fabric in the first place.  Each time I came in she had something different  done or  changed on the collar .  I have only tried the dress on 3 times and there were no sleeves fitted for this dress and the collar was not done according to the pictures I had given  her.  And there is no way that I would have every asked to have a mermaid dress done for me with my figure: she is totally out of line with this comment.  Ms [redacted] assured me she could dye lace to match my peridot color dress, however, when she showed me what happened when she attempted dying the lace there was no way I was going to do the lace; this is when the chiffon was suggested for the sleeves. Ms [redacted] attempted to make my dress poof out more by putting some netting under it was horrible; I  told her at that time this did not look right and she removed it while I was wearing the dress. It was obvious the dress needed more fabric and I told her I wanted the dress I had explained and showed her. She told me it would cost more and I was willing to do this.  This was the last time I fit this dress on. There were no sleeves, the collar was not done right, there was no Zipper and it was full of pins all over .  I never saw the color of the chiffon she was going to order, however, she assured me it would be a perfect match to the color of the dress.  As far as payment goes Ms [redacted] never discussed a down payment on this dress and I did give her $150.00 after the second fitting.  Ms [redacted] did not have any contracts written up to sign and I never got a receipt for my down payment ; thank goodness I paid by check. After this there were at least 2 appointments that she called and told me she had to reschedule do to a wedding and misplanning.  The appointment for 10-6-2014 was scheduled for 9 am and when she did not show after 15 minutes I called her phone and left a message letting her know I was there. I drove around town for a while and called again and left a message; I was getting nervous by this time.  I waited until 10 am and she still did not show and I drove home.  Ms [redacted] finally called me at my home stating she had been in the urgent care after a car accident ( not the severe illness she had stated in her note).  She was tearful and this is when I suspected something was not right.  I stated to Ms [redacted]:  "my dress is not going to be done by 10-13-2014 is it and she stated "no"."  I then asked her :  "the fabric did not come in did it ?" and she stated it  was back ordered and was not sure when it would come in.  She began crying more and getting more emotionally as I inquired ( not shouting or yelling) about what I was going to do and if I was out of my money. She stated "yes " I was out of my money but that she had put hundreds of dollars int his dress.  I told her this is not good business and the customer should not be left with nothing.  She started crying more and she said " do what you want" and she hung up on me. I never got a personal call back after this and I felt panicky . I had to figure out how I was going to get a dress with my work schedule ( I am a nurse and the week end before 10-13-2014 I had to work 12 hr shifts).  I was finally able to shop on 10-8-2014 ( not the next day after 10-6-2014 as Ms [redacted] indicated) ; it took me all day; I went to Madison, and all surrounding towns and finally went to Milwaukee to find the dress that cost me $289.00 plus tax and then I had to rush home to find a seamstress to alter the dress at the last minute.  I found a wonderful professional seamstress of 35 years and she got my dress altered by 10-10-2014 ( cost $45.00). When my daughter and her daughter went to the shop to get their dresses done she had to redue my granddaughter's twice and my daughter had to drive around to kill some time until she could get the alteration right .  Ms [redacted] took the $70.00 out of what I had put down so $80.00 would be left on what she owed me.  I did not get the wonderful experience and beautiful hand made dress that I had dreamed of for my daughter's wedding, however, I did learn a very important lessen.  After the wedding I let Ms [redacted] know that if she could not reimburse me for what I had left then I was going to take further steps.  I asked that I either get the fabric  that was back ordered or the $80.00. I did not ask Ms [redacted] to rip the dress apart and give it to me: that does not make sense.  She then sent me an e-mail,which I saved, stating that my dress in done and in her dressing room with my name on it.  Well the wedding is over and I would like to know who she used as a model to finsh the sleeves to my arms and the appropriate length, and the exact fit in the collar.  This is not my dress.  When she hung up on me and never called me back she was telling me she was done.  I did not cancel the dress order. she was unable to meet the deadline and now wants me to pay for it.
Regards,
[redacted]

Hello, my name is [redacted] and I am responding to a customer complaint. I have sewn for over 30 yrs. I have been making custom garments and creating many sewing projects over those 30 yrs. I graduated with a BA of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. I interned at a bridal boutique shortly afterwards....

From there I started making more custom garments, especially targeting bridal. Then in June 2014 I decided to solely open and solely run a bridal showroom/ workroom. I create sketches, patterns then sewing and fittings for clients, to custom make their chosen design. I do this all solely by myself. All my designs are made by me.
[redacted] was a walk-in client. Her first visit was in the beginning of August 2014. In my boutique she was able to look around the store, get info, etc.. [redacted] and I talked about the wedding, her dress ideas (a floor length, full skirt, higher waist bodice, high collar design, long sleeves with cuffs and maybe some rhinestone detailing/belt). The color choice she wanted was "clover", she talked about her design ideas, and her date of October 18, 2014 for the wedding date. We talked and set up a further appointment. At this appointment I had custom sketches created with [redacted]'s design idea and I had ordered fabric swatches in "clover". [redacted] also brought in a picture of a dress she absolutely loved and the color of it was correct. The "Clover" green I was told to look for was not correct.  As most people know the color spectrum is vast. In the fashion industry color names are vast and vary according to how each store or designer wants to name them. The color she showed me is actually more of a "Peridot" green. [redacted] and I sat down and looked over my sketches, talked more, went over design and fabric choices, discussed estimated price ranges, etc... She liked a sketch very much and we then set up another appointment. I quickly searched and ordered new fabric swatches in "Peridot" green and I finalized her chosen sketch. At our next appointment I had a few more fabric samples. I was able to locate a silk charmeuse in her exact color choice from the picture she gave me. This silk was called a "peridot". The silk was not in [redacted]'s chosen fabric choice of satin though. But she loved the feel, shine, and drape to the silk fabric. And the color was spot on to match. This silk fabric was also more in cost per yard. So the rise in her final estimated cost would go up.  [redacted] decided to go ahead with it anyway. I measured [redacted] according to design needs. Then [redacted] left the store without putting any money down toward costs. I went ahead and ordered the yardage of the silk, lining, boning, and rhinestone details that also were discussed for final detailing. [redacted] also liked my design idea about a sheer/lace sleeve. This would give coverage yet still being light weight. We both loved an idea about lace sleeves with a cuff. So during this time I was also researching and ordering green lace samples. I even attempted to dye a piece of sample lace as well for [redacted]'s dress. I continued to work on [redacted]'s patterns while waiting for fabric. When the fabric arrived I went ahead and cut out the pieces accordingly. After the cutting phase comes pinning and preparation for sewing the pieces. I set a first fitting with [redacted] in late August. This was not an "alteration" piece. [redacted]'s garment was custom made by hand. And like my typical first fittings of custom made garments, the dress was obviously not completely constructed. The point of custom made is, it is literally pinned and then sewn, to custom fit the customer. [redacted]'s dress at first fitting had bodice constructed, skirt constructed and attached to bodice. The collar was in design phase and was pinned to the bodice to show [redacted] the look. [redacted] came in and tried on her dress. She liked the color and feel of the fabric. She complained that it was too high in the waist. Yet, this is what was discussed, and was same as picture given to me by [redacted] and same as my finalized sketch. [redacted] also complained that it was too long. It obviously was not hemmed yet and was not even to that stage. [redacted] didn't have any chosen shoes yet either, so of course it wasn't hemmed yet. [redacted] also complained that it was not laying right on her shoulders. I told her there was no zipper or sleeves in the dress yet. This was just a first fitting and we are in a design process. [redacted] left the store again without any money toward her custom dress. I made another appointment with [redacted] a week later with my reworked bodice. I had used the "back up" silk "periot" green to re-pattern the bodice to make it lower. We basically went over the same things and [redacted] complained about the same things. This time she did not like the collar she liked before during the first fitting. I then showed her my attempt at dying the lace for the sleeves. She seemed impatient and did not want me to attempt dying again. So we talked about using another sheer fabric for the sleeves, like a chiffon. [redacted] left again without any payment. So after this appointment I researched and ordered "periot" green fabric samples in chiffon. I reworked the collar. It seemed to never get past the fitting phase, is because [redacted] kept changing design and adding design ideas. So I was reworking her dress in between each appointment. [redacted] even brought in different pictures of different dress designs. At one point she even said she wanted more of a "mermaid" style skirt than full. I just kept reworking the dress or working on new design ideas that arose throughout. I was trying to make a customer satisfied. Throughout these few short months we had about 8-10 appointments in store and talked on phone. Any appointments that I needed to "cancel" were always rescheduled in a timely manner. No appointments were ever cancelled.  We had appointments throughout August, September, and October.
Our last appointment together was in late September. I fitted [redacted] in her dress. She had shoes and I pinned and measured for the hem. She complained the skirt wasn't full enough to her liking. I told her it would put a time crunch on us if we changed it, and I would need to order more silk "periot" charmeuse to rework the skirt. And again the final cost would go up. [redacted] wanted it fuller, so I said I would need to order more silk charmeuse. She gave me the go ahead. I showed her the "peridot" chiffon fabric sample. It was from the same manufacturer so the colors match perfectly. [redacted] liked the chiffon and then wanted another design extra and suggested using the chiffon in the back of the skirt. Almost like an extra "drape" or "train" etc...This was a pretty idea and I again went ahead to make [redacted] satisfied. The chiffon was also a silk chiffon, so the cost again would go up.(Silk fabrics usually costs double, triple, or even more than regular polyester fabrics.)   [redacted] approved and after the fitting she paid me $150 toward her final dress cost.
The final fitting set on October, 6 2014 was set for 10am. [redacted] showed up at 9am, which was an hr early and repeatedly called me about 3-4 times in that hr before our appointment. ([redacted] had shown up once before an hour earlier and also once an hour late to an appointment)      That morning I became extremely ill and needed Urgent Care. After hearing [redacted]'s irate messages, I went to Urgent Care to take care of myself so I then could take care of my clients. After I was released from Urgent Care I called [redacted] back. [redacted] was upset and it appeared in her voice she had changed her mind on the custom dress. I could tell from her past reactions during fittings and lack in payments that it was not something she really wanted. She asked me if the dress would be finished. I told her I would need to get ahold of the fabric maufactuerer to rush deliver the extra silk charmeuse needed to rework her fuller skirt that she had wanted during the last fitting. She also then informed me that she needed the dress finished by 10-13-1014.  Her custom dress had bodice, skirt (without her last minute added fullness/yardage), silk chiffon sleeves were attached, collar attached, and rhinestone belt for this fitting that never happened on 10-6-14. I told her if the "peridot" green silk charmeuse was now back-ordered it may be tight in the time frame. Or the extra fabric wouldn't make it in time at all. The dress would of been finished without the added last minute fullness. But I couldn't figure it out till I called the company. She was impatient and basically wanted her money back. She wanted her $150 deposit toward the 2 1/2 months of work, fabric, and dress all back. She wanted me to rip the dress apart and give her fabric. She wanted the dress "as is". I told her I couldn't do that. I told her I have put hundreds of dollars into this dress out of my own money, to get this dress done for her. [redacted] got loud with me and told me I was a horrible business woman. And that I should find a new career choice. She told me customers come first and I as the business should take a loss by giving her money back. I told her we had about 12 days left to figure it out. She went on about "now I will have to find a new dress, who is going to cover that?" [redacted] kept asking me "I don't know what to do. What do I get out of this?" I could tell she did not want her custom dress anymore. [redacted] went on to say how busy she was and that she will never find another dress in time.            Her daughter and grand-daughter were untrusted to me by [redacted] and they also came into my store a week previous to October 6th, to have their own dresses altered for the wedding. That evening of 10-6-14, I was to meet with [redacted]'s daughter and grand-daughter to give them their finished dresses. I told [redacted] on our last 10-6 14 phone call that I would not charge her daughter for my work of alterations for the 2 dresses totaling $70. Then I said to [redacted], "If you need anything else from me, you let me know."    That evening her daughter was not charged. (Even though these were separate clients and work done, I again went above and beyond to make [redacted] happy. I again took a loss to help ease her anger and distress) That following day around 10am [redacted] called and left a message saying she had already found a new dress. [redacted] still saying she wanted her money back. [redacted] hinted at me giving her free alterations for this new dress she had purchased.  She again went on to point out everything I was doing wrong as a business woman.  When she had found a new dress, this was like 9 days before the wedding and like 5 days before our custom dress deadline. So, I then finalized she had cancelled her order. I then called the fabric company about that "peridot" silk. I told them to cancel my rush order that my client did not want to wait and cancelled her dress.
[redacted] is subtracting the $70 I gave her daughter in alterations from her own $150 in deposit toward her custom dress. Leaving her with the "loss" of only $80 in this matter.   [redacted]'s first estimated prices (before silk, before added design details, etc...) was $300-$350. After all the extra work, fabrics, silks, rhinestones, sketches, patterns, sewing and fitting appointments [redacted]'s final costs exceed this. I have never once asked [redacted] for any more money toward her balance. I took it as a loss.
And about the roof of the building my store is located inside...... This matter had nothing to do with [redacted]'s dress was never damaged during anything. And as I have told [redacted], her custom "peridot" green silk long mother's dress with skirt, bodice, sleeves, cuffs, collar, rhinestone belt and her final custom colored sketch to match, is all finished and is in a bag with her name on it.
Thank you,

To reply to Ms [redacted]'s response:  I have never asked for  more then I put down on my dress.  If I would have gotten my dress on the date that we had said it was supposed to be due I would not have ever had to go through this process and Ms [redacted] is aware of this. Ms [redacted] got compensation for the dresses that were ruined in the roof damage.  I , however, will never be compensated for not getting the dress I had wished for and dreamed of having.  This whole process that is going on is about doing the right thing.  Ms [redacted] admits she is getting reimbursed  for the damage that took place in her shop.... why then did she not  believe this was the right  thing to do for me since my dress was not going to be delivered on time ..... and she knows this.  The wedding is over... why would I want a dress that is not fitted to me ( never came in for a last fitting...  and she admitted it was not going to be done!)  and it was finished after the wedding.  And to the reply as far as being a small business woman :  anything I said in my previous written messages through the Revdex.com was only statements we had talked about on the phone conversation when  she hung up on me ; these were things the two of us discussed and she admitted she was not making any money on these dresses.    Ms [redacted] also states she can not sell this dress that she states she has finished for me  ... and I am puzzled. If she compensates me for my lost money and I never came in to be fitted for the finishing of this dress... it is not my dress because it is not totally fitted for me. Why can't she fit it to someone else and sell it.    We all choose the kind of things we want to do in life.... if Ms [redacted] loves what she is doing , even if she is  not making much money, then she also knows that along with this come situations like what happened here and she should not make the customer lose out because things went wrong on her end.  And when Ms [redacted] brings up the fact that I am a nurse and she  is comparing our jobs... I have to say that if I would have ever hung up on a client because they were asking me difficult questions and I did not know what else to say.... I probably would not have my job right now.  I took a vow and I worked hard for my license .....  My job is to do the best and go the farthest I can to help my clients within my license; and I do.
I have accepted that Ms [redacted] send me a bank check , for $80.00,  to my address:  [redacted]

[redacted] and Revdex.com,
[redacted] I am sorry you feel loss. But you did order a custom dress from a bridal store. I am a one woman business at the moment. I personally run and make everything I sell. So I rarely am able to get discounted prices. I get what everyone else can buy online. Silk fabrics are just more expensive than polyester ones.
[redacted], My offer is to refund your $80,which is left from your $150 and including my free work I did for your family of $70. The landlord roofing company is compensating for my expenses lost during the new roof installments. I will use that money to send to you ([redacted]). Would this satisfy you? But, your finished dress would then become my store property to do as I please. Would This be satisfying?
I worked hard on your beautiful dress [redacted].
And I never stole nor used you [redacted]. I want you happy [redacted]. Would my offer of a check for $80 be satisfying and make you happy?

I was so glad when I found Moore Cloture bridal. I had been looking for jumpsuit that was black silk with palazzo pants. I love the look. love the style. I could not find it anywhere l. She had one in her shop like what I had been looking for with blue butterflies on it. It was gorgeous! Exactly what I was looking for and wanted in black. She made it for me. It was done on time. It was better than I expected! It fit perfectly! There is definitely a difference between something you buy off the rack and something that's personally made for you. I felt pampered and spoiled. I love it. I get so many compliments on it. I would definitely go back again. I highly recommend her. She was very professional and she made it a fun experience.
