Review: Hi, my name is [redacted]. In March of this year (3/16/2013) I married my wife, [redacted] (Hansen) Kneizeh at your facility. I struggled writing this letter & it wasnt until multiple guests noticed the terrible way we were treated that I found it necessary to make you aware of some serious issues. Weddings are enormously important to your customers for obvious reasons. Though nothing ever goes perfectly, what my now wife & I endured prior to, during & after our wedding should not happen to anybody else.[redacted] & I chose the Moorpark Country Club due to its beauty, location & your former employee Jennifer who was extremely pleasant to work with. She had assisted in choosing the right price & contract that worked for us. Shortly I will detail the differences in what was promised from one employee to another.We had no notification of a change in staff until [redacted] scheduled our tasting with the new employee, SS. I remember [redacted] explaining to me her concern as Anna; wedding manager was pretty rude on the phone & didnt express any type of customer concern-service in just the scheduling of the tasting. Little did we know that things would get much worse. When [redacted] & I arrived for our scheduled tasting we were told to wait since we were no longer on the schedule. After 20 minutes of waiting Anna came out & rudely stated that they were not ready because they received a cancellation call, yet didnt know who had called to cancel, assuming it was us, seriously? That is how your organization runs, based on assumptions? What if a random person called & said they are cancelling their wedding would your organization cancel the earliest one? No apology was given to us by Anna who treated us pretty bad, almost putting the blame on us for essentially showing up to a scheduled tasting!! No accountability was taken & looking back, I should have moved our wedding location then. This is where our stress level started & the customer service level became worse under Anna. We were told we had to sign a new contract and that the money was now due on another date that we did not originally agree to.Our final monetary due date would change again before we were scheduled to give the final head count to Anna this made no sense & I believe was a blatant breach of contract as we were told by Jennifer that Moorpark Country Club would never charge us for guests who didnt arrive. Tell me, how is that possible by turning in the final amount before knowing who arrives or doesnt arrive? Additional changes to our contract not mentioned were types of payments accepted. It was made extremely clear by Moorpark Country Club that our first payment had to be a cashiers check, then all subsequent payments can be personal checks if desired. I was informed by Anna three days prior to our wedding that I had to obtain another cashiers check. In addition we were informed late that no open flames were allowed during the wedding. Complete change in what we were told during our initial visit.The main reason we chose your location was that we had a Member sponsorship & were explicitly told that we would receive a 15% discount due to that. We received a 3% discount off of the service charge, outrageous! On to the wedding where the following issues transpired:We were told by Jennifer & Anna that we would receive a food basket on our wedding day. We never received anything, not so much as a thank you from your staff.The worst was Anna coming up to [redacted] & I while we were talking to guests with over 2 hours left on our reception time that we paid for stating that we still had to take care of the bill & where we wanted our items placed. This crossed multiple lines & I believe she stated this so that she could leave early. The bill she was referencing was simply a tip that was up to me to determine if it was warranted or not. I should have left no tip, but in spite of how badly we continued to be treated, left one anyways. The wait staff was more than accommodating and all of our guests were very impressed with their attentiveness and care. We still have guests telling us that the wedding was great except for the fact that they saw & heard Anna mentioning the bill & being rude to us throughout the evening. In addition, Annas assistant treated my wife & me even worse. The assistants blatant disregard for my wife & rudeness throughout the wedding was truly shocking. My wife was treated like a guest who was simply early to a wedding. The big white dress she was wearing apparently didnt register with this person. I would like an explanation as to why no discretion was taken by Anna or your staff? When did a tip become a bill? Why did packing begin with over 90 minutes of paid time left in my reception?The bottom line is that we paid way too much money to be treated so poorly (as if we were in a place that was too good for us) & are still quite upset over it. It is stressful enough planning a wedding without the last minute changes & no accountability was taken by your organization to ensure that we did not enter into a contract under false pretenses.Our families & friends were the ones who salvaged our wedding. When others ask us, I have to be honest & explain to them what we endured, thus not recommending the Moorpark Country Club as a wedding location. I will also be contacting the Revdex.com & associated outlets to express these facts.Desired Settlement: I really don't know how you can resolve this issue. Weddings cannot simply be refunded or have a "do over". I think for the amount we paid, the very least some type of refund should be given for services not rendered & the false pretenses that led us to enter into two separate agreements with your organization. At the very least others will know of our experience. Guests shouldn't be telling us that we were treated poorly!
